Glen Crest is an absolute gem! The room is spacious and very bright with lots of natural light. Lois is extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. She is responsive to questions and offers great advice as we have entered this new phase with my mom. The kitchen staff is amazing as well. The chef is personable and very interested in the residents and treats them with such care and kindness. We are new to Glen Crest compared to others but were referred by a friend and it has exceeded every single expectation. If you want a beautiful space full of lovely people Glen Crest is it!

I love Glen Crest, An Independent Living Community. It's very, very nice. They have little balconies. They have all the needs I wanted, but the price is too high. However, you can have a pet there, they have parking, and they have a dining area. I like it a lot. The staff who gave the tour was great. I checked the dining area, and it was very nice.

The staff's care and respect for all residents is outstanding, especially the kitchen personnel. Always eager to help, whether in and around the facility or at a chance meeting downtown. Food is above average and the homemade soups served daily are really great. The facility has been upgraded constantly and is a step or two above local housing standards. However. the lone maintenance worker is vastly overloaded with facility management projects (including the Genesis facility next door) causing routine maintenance of individual apartment utilities and appliances to suffer. Although emergencies are resolved immediately, my apartment has an inoperative garbage disposal unit, an ancient dishwashing machine that leaves dishes dirtier after cleaning than they were before washing. and a refrigerator that is on its last legs (at least it is functional for now). Social activities leave a little to be desired, but for many of the residents, they do provide a diversion. Overall value is actually pretty good! Compared to facilities my family and I visited before and after my residency here, the Glen Crest facility in Danbury had more to offer for the dollar. Overall......good but not perfect!

A family friend who recently passed lived at Glen Crest for several years. We visited quite often. She was very happy and comfortable living there. The apartments are very generous in size plus they offer storage, if needed in another part of the facility. The building is very clean and comfortable. Car service and housekeeping are available, if needed. The food is good and everyone that I met was very nice. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. Some activities are available and they get a calendar every month. Being an independent community, they don't pressure residents to attend activities, it's up to them. What we liked also was the size of the building, not overwhelming.

Glen Crest is small and nicely located, and a couple of stories high with an elevator. It was very clean and people were very hospitable. I stayed for dinner; the food was very nice, and I sat with some very nice people. It did not offer a lot of recreational or physical activities, but people played bridge. I would like to be able to go into a pool, but they didn’t have that. There, you’d have to hire someone to take care of you if you needed extra help. The facility has transportation and isn't too far from shopping. The rooms were very nice, and most of them had an outside area or balcony.

My mother chose Glen Crest. It was cheaper than the other facilities. They have three floors and the rooms are pretty big. They have small tables in the dining room; we ate there and the food was excellent. They have a chef and he does a pretty good job. The staff seemed to be very friendly and the residents enjoy a good relationship with them. The residents we talked to also thought highly of the food and of the facility. A lot of the activities are resident-initiated instead of staff-initiated.
