My husband has moved into Ocean Meadows. Right now I have nothing I can say I liked least about them. He has only been there for two and a half weeks, but they have been very kind and compassionate. They are in touch with me for everything. They're keeping me informed of his progress and his issues, and so it's been a positive experience. So far, he has not been willing to do activities, but that's part of him having frontotemporal dementia. His living space is small, comfortable, and manageable for him. The place is very clean and very well maintained. Value for money is very good.

Our experience here has been very good. It's very clean and they're very good about trying to get mom to participate in activities. It's small so they know everyone. They try to partner up their residents so people who would maybe get along well together would sit next to each other at tables. They have different activities every day and the activities they offer are nice. They have some sort of animals come in at least once a week. They have lots of music and they do arts and crafts. They really try to get the residents involved, like moving, talking, thinking; those important things. They don't just leave them in their rooms and let them sit in there. They try to push them in and keep them active. They even do something for every holiday that I've never heard of before. There are magazines and books available. In the activities room, they have a large screen TV where they show something. Mom pretty much likes everything and has been very happy with everything. I know that the chef found out the way mom likes her eggs in the morning and specifically cooked her eggs that way. So, that makes her day. Those little things mean a lot to her. Cleanliness is great. It's very nice. Since I've been there, I know they come into the resident's rooms every day and clean them.

I liked that it was tailored to individual seniors. They had a lot to offer as far as taking someone from the early stages of dementia to the end. I loved the facility. It was neat and clean. The person who explained about the community talked a lot about socialization and she was very articulate and answered all my questions. It just was a very professional experience. The rooms were clean and spacious. You could have a room for two with a shared bathroom or you could have it private. It was very homey, too, because I got to go into some of the rooms where people had decorated them. They had a regular recreation director and she said they had live music at least once a week. I saw some people doing an activity and they had a spacious activity room. They had tailored activities every day for them. It was very personalized. That's what I liked about it and the staff seemed to know every person (since it's a very small community).
