Avoid this facility if possible. The building is beautiful and clean; however, the residents are not well taken care of and at times ignored. My mom has lived here for the past 3 years, and due to circumstances, that resulted in her needing more assistance, I had to move her out. Every day since she has left and is in a new facility, she THANKS me for getting her out of here. She (and many others) complained about the food being tough and not fresh. These issues were brought up during meetings, but nothing was ever done. It is not a nice place to put your loved one. Way too expensive for the services you get.

I toured Commonwealth Senior Living at Haddam. It was a very good tour. They had a couple of units available, and they showed them all to us. They would have worked out because they offered more services. It was a very pretty location. The facilities were very nice. We saw people doing all different kinds of things, and the staff was very pleasant. Everybody we spoke to was very nice and accommodating. And the cook came out to meet us and asked if we had questions. It was very nice. The apartments were very nice. They were one-bedroom units with bigger kitchen areas and full-sized appliances. I liked the rooms a little better. They were a little more spacious than the other place, although they were both in very nice condition. They had just painted and put new carpets in, and so everything looked very nice.

We went to Commonwealth Senior Living at Haddam. It was very good. The facility itself was beautiful. It was spotless and well-staffed. The people that we met were all very, very nice. The units were very, very nice. We looked at a studio and a single room and they were actually really, really nice. They got everything you would need.

I went to tour here. The layout was very nice. It was very spacious and very clean. The rooms were very nice in size. The staff was average. They have the same amenities as the others. They have a hair salon, a movie room, a dining room, a private dining room, and a library.

It is lovely. The apartments were nicer than any other place we had seen. The layout was very good. The bathrooms were very large with a lot of grab bars and safety features. Architecturally, this was the best place we saw. There are a lot of big windows, the ceilings are high, the hallways are wide and that makes a huge difference more than other things that people might be looking for. All the residents we talked to had wonderful things to say about this facility spontaneously which I thought was pretty interesting. Everybody looked pretty happy. The staff who helped us with the tour were excellent. They were well-informed, very understanding, and very interested in feedback and preferences. The dining area and the food were excellent.

They provided three meals a day, and it was not too far from my house. The staff was very fine and very knowledgeable. They showed me the calendar for a month of what they did. They had an exercise room. They had yoga. They had rider's group. The atmosphere was very peaceful. We looked at a studio, but I guess she's going to be in a one-bedroom. They were a little small, but they did need a lot because they did not cook. The food was provided for them so they did not need a big place.

It had a more open and bright appearance when you walked in to the lobby. They have a lot of shrubbery, plants and flowers. Almost every apartment has either a patio or a balcony so that you can sit outside. All the patio furniture is the same and it has a more countryside setting.
