My mother-in-law has moved into MorningStar Senior Living of Parker. I like the amenities and the proximity to our home. The staff is very good and knowledgeable and do a great job. They will assist her with getting her meals, and they are good at getting her up and getting her moving around and walking every day. There are group activities for sewing, book clubs, and stuff like that. The facility is well taken care of and clean.

I didn’t realize that some Memory Care places were more interested in money than taking care of vulnerable people. When I first put Mom at MorningStar in Parker, that didn’t appear to be the case, however, the focus is more on acquisitions and mergers than caring for people. Mom was given the medication of another resident, medical tests were administered to Mom and I was not notified, she had a tooth pulled in her room without any staff supporting her, she has been served chicken tenders and French fries every day for two years because they can’t accommodate her food allergies and sensitivities, and she has been left dirty in a filthy room without help while MorningStar forbid family from coming into the building. When I finally was able to enter her room, I was appalled at gnats swarming dead plants, the Samsung logo bouncing across her television screen, food ground into the carpet, trash littering the floor, a puddle of standing water on her bathroom floor, and dirty laundry scattered around the room. Multiple times I’ve left messages for staff members and not received a return phone call. For a scheduled “care conference,” the care coordinator didn’t show up. I received a call from an unknown person I tried to track down asking me to talk my Mom out of her dementia delusions. Clearly, most staff are underqualified to work with Memory Care, which trickles down from a manager who is likewise underqualified. When you look for a place to house your vulnerable loved one, ask what their philosophy and approach to Memory Care will be. What are the qualifications of management and staff, and how do they acquire and train additional staff? What are they doing to retain qualified staff? When a resident is ill, what are their protocols? When and how do they communicate with family? Who evaluates and oversees the leadership of the place and the care of the residents? MorningStar of Parker has serious deficiencies in all of these areas. The buildings are lovely and individually, there are nice people who work at MorningStar. Overall, unfortunately, these are not sufficient to compensate for the distinct lack of skill, integrity, and compassion of management and the beleaguered, missing, and undertrained staff. MorningStar should not be in the business of Memory Care.

My mother moved to MorningStar Parker. The facility is very nice, but there are issues with their showers. They're not well-made. We moved to two different rooms, and the showers were all the same. They only have a plastic lip, a small one, and water ends up going onto the floor because it's not a stable lip. You have to have a long shower curtain liner, so we're in the process of getting that fixed. We've had issues with communication. In order for things to get done correctly, we've had to go to the executive director. He's very nice and always gets things done. Otherwise, it's very difficult to get things done. My mom was re-evaluated, so she's now in assisted living. When she was in memory care, there were lots of wanderers there, and they ended up going into her room. There were some issues with a few men coming into her room at odd times, so I had to give my mom a lock to her room. Assisted living has been much better, and I haven't had any issues. We like their activities. They have exercises, card games, and bingo. They have socials like Sunday's root beer floats and get-together parties for birthdays and music. They also have arts and crafts. It's very expensive. I think for the value, it should be better. They're redoing things right now. They just painted the walls, and there's new artwork up in the halls.

My mother is in MorningStar Senior Living of Parker. It's a premier facility, and she's in independent living right now. They have all kinds of activities, exercise classes, movies, bingo, some rummy-like games, giant crossword puzzles, a bridge club, a twenty-four-hour bistro that's open, and happy hours on Fridays.

My mom was at the MorningStar Senior Living of Parker. Their medical care was probably fine for residents that didn't have underlying health issues. My mother has COPD real bad, and she was on oxygen 24/7, and she needed somebody that could watch her a little bit better and keep her on her oxygen. Due to COVID, we weren't allowed to go and see her, so I didn't realize how much her dementia had progressed in the last year, and she just needed a lot more care than what she was getting. The people there were friendly. They did games like bingo and cards, and also crafts. In normal times, they would take them out on little trips to Walmart or Target, or somewhere else, and they had field trips where they went to Cherry Creek Reservoir for a day and other places, but during COVID, they weren't able to do any of those.

My mom has lived here since the property opened. She start in independent living and now is in assisted living, and has hospice care in her apartment. The management, and all of the staff is wonderful! They take such good care of my mom, and I'm glad she is there. Such great times over the last 5 years, with special events and holiday fun. My family always looked forward to meeting there for the holiday events. I highly recommend MorningStar, and could not have found a better place for my mom to live! Thank you MorningStar.

If you choose to live in this facility, make sure you are in very good health and won’t need any fast assistance. My father-in-law lived here this year in assisted living. He had a bad fall and was bleeding from the head, and his wife called for assistance. No one came. She tried again, and no one came. Finally in desperation, she went to the front desk and pleaded with them to get help – and THEY couldn’t even get someone to come!! So the lady at the desk had to call 911, and so finally, 30 minutes after the fall, paramedics arrived. This is the kind of help they were paying $7,500/month for. Unfortunately, he never did recover and passed away within a month. . Makes us wonder… Would he still be with us today if they had been more responsive?!

We have been very impressed with Parker Senior Living and are happy we decided to trust Morningstar with our parents care. Our parents move in a little over a month ago and are enjoying their new home. Everything has been quality from our first phone call to the overall building itself. The tour experience was educational and made us understand the importance of quality care. I look forward to seeing my parents flourish in this new environment.

I visited Parker Senior Living by MorningStar and it's a very professional community, clean and well-run. The staff members are professional experts. They also have comprehensive activities. Their rooms are spacious and clean, but the pricing is very expensive.

My father was a resident at this facility. I was very impressed by them. Staff are great and really care about the residents. Community is beautiful and well equipped. They offer a lot to their residents and always go above and beyond. It looks like some former employees are giving bad reviews of this facility, but please consider the source of information and look for reviews of actual family members of residents or residents themselves. Your loved ones will be in good hands here and staff are very helpful and available to assist and answer any questions that you may have.

What's outstanding at Parker Senior Living by MorningStar was the person who took us around. She was really great. We learned a lot from her. The food was very good too. They serve breakfast and lunch. They showed me a 1-bedroom apartment, which was very nice. It had a small balcony and a very nice setting. They have a library, and they have a lot of games, clubs, and groups to join. However, what we didn't like was the mixture of assisted living with the independent living for socializing.

Parker Senior Living by MorningStar has independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It's a good place, and I like it. My parents' room is very nice and big. The bedroom is bigger than any other bedrooms I've seen in other places. The kitchen area is nice and roomy. The building is all brand new, up-to-date, and clean with nice, big windows in the rooms. They have a lot of activities and a very nice dining room. The food is better in the assisted living and independent living areas. They get to pick off a menu, which is nice.

I ended up choosing MorningStar in Parker (Parker Assisted Living by Morningstar). My dad wants to stay as closely involved in my mom’s care as possible, so I needed an apartment complex that would allow my mom in memory care and my dad in independent. The one thing I really like about it is that it was small, it wasn’t so overwhelming like there were thousands of people there. Morningstar Parker is awesome. It has the three levels of care -- memory, assisted and senior living. The grounds are gorgeous. The people are awesome. They keep me informed. They’re willing to talk to me. The pricing was absolutely great. They understand people there. I was shocked that they didn’t require us to put money into it -- like $400,000 into it -- and then pay a monthly and then you get a certain percentage back when you leave. It wasn’t that at all. Every Friday, they have a person coming in singing, they have a happy hour, they have an open bar, and they have people mingling. It’s a great social environment. It’s really great. That’s why I really like them.

The staff at Parker Senior Living by MorningStar was great. They were very helpful and very accommodating. They did what they could for you, and they were hands-on. There was always somebody there to talk to if I needed to find out information. They’re just a great group of people.

Parker Senior Living by MorningStar was not very old, so everything was nice and new. When I went there, none of the managers or anything was available, but an employee took me around to check out the facility and see a couple of rooms. She was very nice and very professional, but it had a feeling like an old folks’ home. It didn’t seem very active or upbeat. They had a swimming pool on the premises, and that was very important to me.

This facility attempts to have a reputation of an above average facility. However, since they refuse to hire enough caregivers/CNAs, the care level is very average. They work very hard, but simply cannot get the work done because they are so short-handed. I know for a fact that at least on 3 occasions in the last month, there have been busy shifts that have only 2 or 3 caregivers there for 40 residents. They cannot possibly get all the residents to and from a meal, give out medications correctly, and help all of those residents to bed. I cannot, in all good conscience, recommend this facility to anyone. I am seriously considering moving my loved one out of this facility.

I checked Parker Assisted Living which is very nice. It’s independent-living, assisted-living, and memory care. They do have day care available there for the memory-impaired which is what we were looking for first, and then we realized we need to have a little bit more. It was very clean. The staff was wonderful. The people were very, very welcoming and warm.

My mom is in Morning Star. My sister's in-laws are there also. It is assisted living with memory care division. My mom is in that particular division. It is small but the staff is great. They're wonderful. The facility is brand new and very nice. It is a nice environment. I like this place.

Parker Assisted Living was a brand new facility. That place was really nice. It's an assisted living place, which was not what I need right now. They don't have independent living unfortunately. However, it was a lovely facility. The rooms were nice too. Overall, for somebody that wants that level of care, I think Parker was a very nice place to be.

I chose this facility for my parents. It's a beautiful place. It's bright and airy. There's lots of interaction and the residents are all happy and getting along. Even the residents at the dementia section were grouping together like a team, even though they were all kind of out of it. They were all helping and supporting each other. The only drawback is it's a brand new place so they got a lot of new people there and they're trying to bring them up as quick as they can training wise. They're still getting a lot of their procedures in order. Otherwise, they're all trying real hard. The staff are all very nice and can deal with whatever but they're still learning the ins and outs of the organization. They're still hiring people but once they get through all that, I think they'll be fine. It's a beautiful place.
