I stayed at Parkside Village Retirement Resort for about a week. It was a very nice place. It's just the food lacked a lot. The staff members were all very nice. I liked the other people that were living there. They had a lot more activities going on. The dining area was lovely, but the food was of low quality.

Parkside Village Retirement Resort was updated and beautiful. It's very nicely decorated. It's newer. They have open hallways, and they have a theater for movies. They have a beautiful theater setting. The dining area was okay. I wasn't as impressed with the dining room. There are pros and cons to everything. The main reason that I chose not to go there was the lack of accommodation for gluten-free meals, and I need to be gluten-free. But it was a beautiful facility. The staff who toured me around was fine. I had no problem with anybody.

Parkside Village Retirement Resort is a beautiful place. It's only four years old. It's fairly small compared to some of the others, but the amenities and basically everything is all-inclusive. They give you everything. You get three meals a day except on Sunday because they have brunch. The rooms were nice, and they got different types. They have activities that are published on their daily calendar. They have other activities that are set up by the residents, meaning if you've got five people that want to play bridge, you play bridge. If you've got Wii bowling, they do that. They've got bingo, movies, and an open area that's well landscaped. Dogs are allowed. They got a small dog park, but there's a huge one close by that's from the City of Aurora and there's no fee for the dog.

I visited Parkside Village Retirement Resort. I like the apartment; I saw the 2-bedroom model. I like the dining facility; I did have lunch there and it was good. I liked the fact that you don't have a buy-in, it's just a monthly rental. It was essentially a month-to-month; you sign the lease, but you could get out of it if you gave them 30 days' notice. So, it wasn't a year's lease or anything like that, but it was more expensive. A similar apartment which cost me $3500 in another facility, would cost me $5200 at the Parkside. The staff was very organized in her presentation. We walked around the facility, and she was very pleasant. She's followed up on a couple of occasions, and was calling me; I mean, she's a sales representative, so it behooves her to follow up. I was pleasantly impressed. I've never been to one that was not clean, but it was certainly clean. It gave the impression of being a pleasant place. It had a kind of open central area and was well lit. But the problem with it is, the population size is about 130 or 140. They do have activities and they had a calendar which of course I looked at; that's all online, too. But it doesn't offer what the other offers. For what I had for lunch, it's good.

My mom moved into Parkside Village Retirement Resort. It's the best one I found. I liked the customer service. I liked the actual amenities. I liked that it was fairly new -- only two years old. It was very clean, luxurious, and kind of a resort style. It has very good food, and very nice, big rooms. They have a full slate of activities. It's expensive, but it's worth it.

Parkside Village Retirement Resort was absolutely the best facility out of all the ones that were recommended to us, as far as newness, cleanliness, taking care of my mom, and putting her in a place. It's a nice and classy community. Margo, the director of sales, was wonderful. She also introduced me to a couple of the staff members, and I just got a really pleasant feeling that they are going to take care of my mother the way I want her taken care of. I wouldn't have gone back there three times if I had not felt comfortable with her, and she kept trying to find me rooms with a view that was worthy for my mother. Each time I go in, she made an exception for me and got me in like half an hour earlier than normal, before there was too much activity in there, and also so I could get off to work before my day started.

I like the place I'm in at Parkside Village Retirement Resort. It's very pretty and a newer building. There's a lot of room for clothes storage or whatever. They provide good meals and the people are just really friendly. They only have independent living. There's a salon here, a bank, we have movies two times a day, and a very nice theater. Everything here is very nice. In terms of the food, there's only so much you can do if you're cooking for that many people, but it's good food, and they serve them in proper portions so you're not stuffing yourself. I think that the value for the money is great. They have something original here which I haven't seen before, and they have a safe in each room, which is really nice. I have a dog and I'm on the first floor, so it goes outside, and they'll allow you to fence in your patio area so that the dog can go in and out. I have seen other places, but this one fits my needs the best.
