The people that work at Elk Run Assisted Living Community were amazing. They gave a lot of information and they called back to check on us, so that was nice. I think the rooms were nice. We didn't see anybody doing anything though. I think we got on an off hour, so we didn't see a lot of seniors. It was after lunchtime. It looked like it was a very nice place to stay. The rooms have their own bath. We didn't see the one-bedroom. We saw just the studios, but they looked spacious enough for a bed and a chair and what my mother-in-law would need. A wheelchair would fit in the room and that was one of our concerns. It would've accommodated all that. They have plenty to do for seniors. They have a nurse on staff 24 hours a day. Based on the menu I saw, a lot of it seemed like processed food. I understand when you have that many people, it's hard to have all that nutritious food, but I think that would've been a drawback. They had a salon, and an outside deck if they wanted to eat outside, and they had somewhere outside for seniors to go if they wanted to go out. They had a yoga room that they also use as an activity room. They had puzzles throughout the home in the hallways. We would have chosen that had we decided on assisted living. The facility looked very nice. It was clean, clutter-free, and easily accessible to wheelchairs and walkers. It's three stories, so they had an elevator. Everything was good.

My sister will be moving into the Elk Run Assisted Living Community. We've put a deposit down on a room. My mother-in-law stayed there as well, and she loved it. My sister and I go and do exercises there in the morning at 10:30 and word association games after that. It helped her get to know the building. We walk around and try to familiarize her with the facility. They do a lot of different activities. We have the room held until she feels comfortable enough to go there. They contact you to see if there's anything they can do or change. They have a great variety of food. The residents seemed very pleasant and happy. It's a beautiful facility.

Elk Run is beautiful; it's a nice place. The staff was very friendly. We also looked at the dining area and it seemed fine. The room we looked at was very nice, it was the perfect size, very clean, and laid out very nicely. They have the on-site beauty services as well.

My father is at Elk Run. This facility is close to me. Everything is fine there; it is much better than the other facility. They take Medicaid patients, therefore they are stricter. Also security is fine.

Everything looked OK at Elk Run except it didn’t look like it would meet the level of my parents of the care for a long period. I have to move them again because they only go up to a certain level, and my parents are not there. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We arrived at that conclusion fairly soon into my visit, but they did give me a tour. The facility was newly remodeled, lovely, and I have trouble having been there that would meet their need. It was clean, and the residents look quite happy. I didn’t have any negative feelings when I was there.

I have found this facility to be excellent. Their management and Executive Director are great. They provide excellent care. I was impressed that they had a perfect survey from the Health Department. Since getting new ownership and management over the past couple years, the place is amazing.

I chose Elk Run because it was the only one in Evergreen, and that's where we live. It was not because they were so fine. It was just because it was so convenient. The work attitude of the employees was OK. They were helpful and friendly. However, I know that they don't have a good attitude toward the people. I didn't particularly like their director at all. They don't like her at all. However, I will be putting him in despite her. I know how they treated one of my friend's parents who was sick, and he found her in horrid condition. They do not have a good reputation in our neighborhood and town. However, because my dad is fully mobile, and because he could speak up for himself, I would put him there because it is the closest. It is right in the center of town. The rooms were very small compared to where my father was, and the lobby was very dark. I just wanted to have him there because it was close to the house, and he doesn't have to spend a lot of time there. So, he would just have a place to sleep. So, it doesn?t matter what the food is like, and it doesn't matter what activities there are, because he would have his own.
