My aunt is very pleased with Thousand Oaks Royale. They seem very caring. We're happy with it, and she's happy with it. They have Bingo. The staff is very friendly, very informative and happy. Her room is plenty big and very comfortable for her.

I visited the Royal Retirement Home while touring the local assisted care facilities. It located right above, actually almost right on Thousand Oaks Blvd, the biggest street in town. The dining room has a very elegant circular floor-to-ceiling picture window that looks out over it. It is fun to sit at the tables and watch the activity on the street below. The building looks and feels much like a small hotel. The lobby and hallways are wide and nicely furnished with paintings and small furniture groups. Rooms are large and sunny. There is nice carpeting in many places and clean shiny hardwood floors in others.. Scattered around are a variety of large and small community rooms. Some are used for craft projects, some are for socializing and game playing, and in some they do music and art. When I was there the person conducting the tour greeted each person by name, gave them a big smile, and asked them how they were doing. There is a large television room where residents can hang out when they don't feel like doing anything else. The public areas were decorated for Easter and they were doing cheerful crafts in the craft rooms. The whole place smelled good, which is important to me.The facility is in the middle of town and it is easy to plan excursions for the residents to local shopping malls, theaters, and community gardens. The residents that I passed seemed happy and content. Overall it is a remarkably cheerful place.
