Saratoga Retirement Community is very nice and I'm sure I'll be very happy here. I moved in last week. The food is fabulous. My room is 1100 square feet with shutters in it, and I have a Murphy bed which folds out of the wall. They have all kinds of exercise classes, tai chi, balancing classes, and yoga. They have a walking group, a swimming pool, and Bocce ball.

I went to visit my mom's friend in Saratoga Retirement Community. She was there for rehab. It was absolutely outstanding. I would give it a 10. My mom going in said, I would go there. My mom felt that it was beautiful. What stood out were the grounds, the inside, and the cafeteria or their dining area; it was beautiful. They had an atrium with birds. It was definitely upper class; there's no doubt about it. I saw the food that was served to the patients. It was excellent. According to her, it tasted good. Everything was fresh. There were fresh vegetables. The meat was good; the chicken was good. She really liked it. The staff was courteous, professional, seemed to be very responsible, and attended to her when needed.

I have seen at least four or five places, but Saratoga Retirement Community was one of the best, and it's very, very beautiful. It's like this grand place sitting on a hillside, almost like a palace, but of course it is more expensive. I've seen their assisted living, their independent apartments, and their townhouses. The staff I met was very gracious and very respectful, and they answered all the questions that I had. The layout was wonderful and everything was huge -- like there's a huge dining room, a huge library, and so many conference and party rooms. It has walking trails and a golf course, so they have a lot of outdoor areas there. They even have their own swimming pool and their own gym. It's very spacious.

We went to Saratoga Retirement Community. We walked the grounds. It was pricy, but nice. We all wore masks. The staff was very nice. We did the grounds and the inside. It was nice inside, but older and matronly in terms of the art. It was clean. They weren't expecting me, so it was a shuffle left and right, north, south, east, west to find somebody to give me a tour, but it was handled very well. They had a swimming pool, a beauty shop, and woodworking shop.

Saratoga Retirement Community was a very nice facility. My brother really liked it. The rooms were big. The tour was good, and the tour guide was very nice. My brother takes insulin for diabetes and I made that quite clear since the very beginning. The staff gave me no indication that the injection of insulin was a problem. She took me on the tour, and I really liked it, so I brought my brother back, and he really liked it. Right from the start, we mentioned that he is injecting insulin, and later on, we were put on a waiting list. We called and they said they're turning him down because he has medical issues they cannot address, and he needed more medical help than they could provide. I did not like the way I was treated.

Saratoga Retirement Community was located in a wooded area. There were no houses or anything nearby. It's like an open clearing and you can see the mountain. It was just above and beyond anything else you can find anywhere. The residents there were the ones we'd like to associate with. The food was good and they went out of their way to make a nice lunch for us. Some apartments were good and were a good size. We looked at a 2-bedroom apartment and it had the living room right in the middle, one bedroom on the right, and one bedroom on the left. There's a great deal of privacy. They have a swimming pool, garages, and a workshop in one of the garages. They have beautiful artwork, a beautiful dining area, and you can eat any time you want.

We visited Saratoga, and it’s very spacious; the dining room was large. They have an indoor pool -- and that’s a real plus -- and they had a nice gym.

Saratoga Retirement Community was great. The rooms were a good size, and my mom was going to share one with another person. It's 20'x20' with a bath. The staff was lovely. We dealt with two ladies who walked us through. There was trivia for memory care and "name that phrase" games. They also had scheduled trips to scenic sights and a small garden. The place was big at around 37 acres. It seemed pretty nice.

Everybody we talked to at Saratoga Retirement was very nice. The service was great and the people were nice. I had actually put a hold on a place, but my father had gone too far, and he passed last week. We’ll go back there if my mother or somebody gets to that point.

The staff at Saratoga Retirement Community Memory Care was very friendly during our visit. They have good community support like they had other people in my mom's religion live there, and that would be helpful. They have onsite religious services that would be helpful as well, but the actual memory care unit seems too low key for my mom.

Here in Saratoga Retirement, they don't have the higher level of assisted living. The memory unit is smaller than the other places. They don't have as many rooms, but the rooms are actually a little bit larger than the ones in the other facility. They are the standard room without a seating area, sink, or refrigerator. The general grounds are beautiful. If you are there for independent living or lower level assisted living, that would be great. The memory care unit is very nice, and the dining room area is very nice as well. But the outdoor secure area is really small. The staff looked like they are knowledgeable. It looks like they have a good staff to patient ratio.

I visited Saratoga Retirement Community. It was smaller, so it had a better feel to it. They did not have cottage availability, and it had a waiting list, which made it difficult. Because of continuous care, they can decide that you are no longer independent and that you have to go to assisted-living. I don’t want someone making that decision for me. I was not impressed with the nursing home or the assisted living facilities. I wouldn't want to live there. I had one meal there. I ate with people who had been asked to be our hosts. They were nice enough, but in the whole dining room, there was one other couple. I don't know where all the people were; nobody was eating. I was concerned that the residents were not active and participating in the activities, that they were just staying in their little rooms. They had exercise classes, bingo, and card games. They had a pool. They have a big buy-in. You'd pay half a million dollars, and if you don't like the place, that money is gone, and then they charge $6,000, $7,000 a month to stay there.

We went to see Saratoga Retirement Community, and we thought it was delightful. I was very much impressed with it. We would absolutely consider it when the time comes. It's beautifully run. The apartments are beautiful. They have a terrific gym and a beautiful pool and lots and lots of activities.

It was a very difficult and emotional decision to move my grandmother into an assisted living facility. She had recently lost her spouse of 60 years and was no longer able to care for herself alone in the home they shared. We wanted to find an assisted living facility that could meet her level of care, but many we visited that offered dementia level care had an institutional, hospital like environments. When we found Saratoga retirement it was a huge relief. We did have to wait for an opening on a list, but it was worth it. The facility is similar in feel to a nice, residential hotel. The rooms and halls are carpeted and the furniture is well appointed. Most residents have their own rooms of various sizes, depending on level of care needed. My grandmother had to start in the "special care" level, bit was soon able to move into a lower care level. The lounge areas and recreational facilities were comfortable and had a feel of sophistication. The campus has a wide variety of care levels to meet all stages of elder care. All of the staff was warm and seemed to genuinely care for the residents. They also seemed happy in their workplace. I also appreciated that they spoke to the residents, even the ones with dementia like adults, they never "dumbed down" the words they used. This allowed my grandmother to retain a sense of dignity, which was important to her and to our family. The food facility was as close to a restaurant as one could expect given the many levels of food needs that had to be met at each meal. Residents on a non restricted dietary plan could select from a menu of healthy choices. They could also have guests at meals. Our family ate many times with my grandmother and found the food to be homey and quite palatable. Saratoga retirement is definitely not the least expensive option in the area. Fortunately, my grandparents had planned ahead and had good long term care insurance. For people in this position, I would strongly recommend visiting Saratoga retirement.

We have reviewed and toured the facility this last weekend; we have a family member who soon will be retiring there in this parklike environment with good food, sleep & rest and unending activities to stimulate ther residents' lives to be more meaningful and rewarding. I personally, have seen so many facilities like these since many of my past family members have gone to places like this one...this is the best one that i have seen so far and their management team is on top of everything! The rates are very reasonable and they have thought of ever contingency for their residents and their families supporting same. I would recommend SRC and maybe further down that road, I will become a happy resident myself

My mother's medications were not administered properly, and care programs described for dementia care patients were either non-existent or poorly administered. Our feedback to management on the need to correct various structural and program issues was acknowledged, but never acted upon.
