My cousin moved to Maravilla. What I like best is the amount of care and the modern facilities. The staff, they're all very good. I had lunch there yesterday and it was really excellent. The facility was clean. It was bright and shiny. I felt welcome. I know they do have exercise classes and television. There was a musician there yesterday when I left. The sizes of the rooms are adequate.

Maravilla is a beautiful luxury facility. The rooms are small. However, there are lots of different sizes. The staff was good. I have eaten there in the past. It is open to the public at lunchtime and the food's good. The dining area was large.

Maravilla was more expensive and a little bit ostentatious. It's more for people who are wealthier, who like to have a big foyer, a big living room, and big tapestries. It's just really fancy. So, people who want an upscale feel and who are used to living in mansions or whatever, that's kind of a place for them. I know some people whose parents live there and they say that the food is very good. They love it there and they enjoy it. They also have an outdoor pool and all the amenities that you would want. You just have to be able to afford it.

Maravilla is a lovely facility. It would be almost like living at a resort. Beautiful grounds, beautiful buildings. They have a very nice dining room. The apartments are what you would expect. They have all the amenities. Every apartment either has a balcony or a patio. The buildings are fairly spread out, and they have villas that are like the two-bedroom apartments, but they're a little bit separated from the rest, and they're like four in a cluster. They have easy access into the building, from the apartments to the dining room and that sort of thing. It's all very well appointed. It looks very nicely decorated. It's very clean. They take care of the building very well. They have all kinds of activities. They have pretty much anything you would want to do. They have clubs or groups, and they have regular outings that you can go on. There was a hiking club. They have a nice activities room where they do arts and crafts or sewing or whatever it is that you're interested in. The people who conducted the tour were salespeople, so, of course, they were very nice. They served us lunch and the chef came out and talked to us. The food was excellent. The chef was saying that if there were certain things that people who live there want to have, he tries to have that available for them. It seems that the food would be very much positive. The menu was very healthy and very much based on local produce. We were very impressed with the food. I'm very interested in going there. Right now, that would be my first choice.

Maravilla looked very nice. There's a lot of activity going on. The staff looked OK, and the person that took me around was very friendly. They explained everything and answered all the questions I had, which is what I was interested in. It's an excellent place. I remember when it was built 20 years ago, because it was on my way, and that's the reason I went to see it, because I don't want my wife to be too far away from home. They have a very nice dining room. They have a lot of activities. From what I saw, the personnel were very courteous.

The food at Maravilla was amazing, and it's very elegant. The whole experience was very elegant. They had a very nice pool, and the rooms were very nice and nicely appointed. It's a very grand facility, but my personal feeling was that it would be a great place for your parents to go if they didn't need any help. I'm not so sure it would be a good place if they actually needed some help. It very much has a feeling of everybody being on vacation, and the people did look happy, but I didn't get a feeling that there would be a lot of assistance if they needed help. It was more like a resort. They have some of the nicest grounds that you probably will ever find in any retirement community.

I stayed for a week at Maravilla, and I loved it. It's like a five-star hotel. It's highly organized, the amenities are amazing, and it's beautiful inside and out. The food is wonderful, exceptional, and served on linens. The staff is amazing.

Maravilla was outstanding. It's probably the finest senior residence in the country. They had all levels of care from complete assistance down to complete independence. They had lovely 1, 2 and 3-bedroom cottages that you could buy or lease, and you could bring your own furniture. The staff was wonderful and very kind. The food was very good.

My visit with Maravilla was very nice. They treated us to lunch, which was delicious and fresh. It was a very large facility with lots of residents, beautiful architecture and gardens, and nice apartments. It had a very full list of activities scheduled, including trips outside of the facility as well as doctors' visits.

Maravilla was the one that we liked the best, and they encourage you to get on their waiting list. We went into three or four rooms with people there, and I was very impressed by them. They actually did some pretty serious remodeling. They were very receptive based on the requirements, and interests of the people that are moving in. There were exercise facilities, clubs, games, and people to guide them.

We were able to look at Maravilla, and it's a very nice place. It had beautiful grounds, and they have lots of things to offer. Their dining room was nice, as well as the people. They have a very pretty setting. They have a pool, a nice waiting room, exercise program, and games, like cards and Scrabble.

My mother has been in three facilities in the past year, but the one that she spent the most time in was Maravilla. She has lived there before, and she is moving back. The staff was very good, and 90% of the time, they were quickly and effectively responding. The apartments were amazing. They're beautiful. It is probably the nicest facility in Santa Barbara. It's bright, open, airy, and very sophisticated, but it's very expensive. She loved the food. They had a great chef and really amazing servers in their restaurant. They had great food and great choices. The dining room was totally like a restaurant. They had a book club, Bridge club, a workout room, a computer room, buses that go to anywhere anybody wants to go, movies in house, music, bingo, and exercise classes. She has been there so long, I pretty much know everybody there. You have to buy in to be a resident, and she has bought in twice.

I was able to move my mother in Maravilla. She likes it there, and she is very happy. She is making friends, and things are going well. She has been there for two months, and it has been very positive. They are very kind, helpful, and very gentle with her. They have lots of things to do -- like she is in a walking club. They take field trips, and they have musicians come in to perform. They also have like a mommy and me class wherein mothers bring their babies, and they put blankets on the floor. All the elderly sit around and watch which my mom just loves. The room is really nice. It has a little sitting room and a very large bathroom where she can use her walker into the shower area. It has a bedroom area and a balcony so she can sit outside. The community is very clean and beautiful. It is a very happy place, and that is nice.

The cottages at Maravilla are very nice. Some apartments are 2- and 3-stories but my room is a cottage and it's 1800 sq.ft., two bedrooms, two baths. They have beautiful gardens and beautiful grounds. It's a joy to see because the gardens are kept so beautifully. There's a section of the facility called the casitas and we are totally independent in that we fix our own meals and we have our own cleaning people. They have two swimming pools and two exercise rooms. They have a big library and a big lounge. They have an internet lounge which has several computers. They have one social hour once a week on Friday and they have all sorts of things to eat and also wine. Two or three times a week, they will have musical groups come. They have an art class where the teacher comes from outside. We have a course and I sing in the course. They also have a beauty parlor and a massage room. There's something for everybody. They have the buses that take you shopping and to doctor's appointments several times a week. The bus will take you to the symphony orchestra which is downtown and then take you up and bring you back. An interesting thing is you can have pets. You can have two of something like two little dogs, two cats and it's wonderful because older people always do well if they can have their animals.

Maravilla is a beautiful facility with lots of activities, pool, putting green and other amenities on site. I visit ever Friday morning for breakfast. Overall the food and service is very good. Located walking distance to hotel, grocery shopping, pharmacies and restaurants. They provide independent and assisted living care.

My wife's mother had been having some health issues for the past six months, and as unfortunately all too often she ended up going into the ER. Pneumonia in both lungs, 104 fever, and heart issues. She all ready has had quite a bit of trouble with walking and we all decided to give her some time in Mara villa after she left the hospital. My wife and I are away from home most of the time so it would not have been appropriate she stay with us. At first she did not like the idea but the staff at Mara vista was beyond excellent. The facilities and rooms were spacious and very well maintained. She got too spend time with others, which she hadn't been able to do in some time with mobility issues, and participate in group events. The staff had around the clock care, checking her vitals, and really helping her get back too full strength. Total she was in the facility about 3 months but it was worth every cent and really helped her get back on her feet. I would definitely recommend them in the future.

When my grandmother started to lose her memory we knew that she couldn't stay at home any longer for her safety so we began to look into assisted living homes specializing in Alzheimers. When looking we kept coming across Maravilla Senior Living (the memory care center specifically) and decided to look at it despite the fact that it was a little more expensive than some of the other places we had checked out. When we got there we discovered how beautiful it was and understood why they called it "resort living". The atmosphere was perfect for my grandmother (after all we wanted her last days to be as comfortable as possible). The staff was super friendly and helpful in teaching us about the disease and what they do at the facility to help its residents. I was happy that they provided both buses for patients to go out into the lovely city of Santa Barbara in addition to having nurses and doctors come into the facility. My grandmother moved in about three weeks ago and seems happy and healthy. She doesn't feel like she was "put in home" rather she feels like she's on an extended vacation.
