My husband was at Victorian Manor. I don't think you get what you pay for there. Sometimes it was OK but more times, it wasn't OK. The living atmosphere was horrible. They put my husband in a wheelchair and left him in the hall. I didn't see many activities. They had exercise class and drawing class, and during the holidays, they had people come in for entertainment, but I didn't see much. Most of the time, the residents just sat in the hall in their wheelchairs. My husband lost 15 pounds, so I wasn't really happy with them. They didn't give people enough time to eat. If you don't eat within 15 minutes, they throw the food away. They didn't get very many fresh vegetables, and there were lots of carbohydrates. I never saw a salad, and most of the time, desserts were canned fruits. There were too many patients for each staff member. If you say you don't want to be cleaned, you don't get cleaned, and then you sit in your pee until they come back and try it again.

I wasn't too impressed with Victorian Manor. It looked like a lot of the residents were just sitting in the hallway in their wheelchairs. It seemed really institutional and not a very homey, welcoming environment. It's not dirty but kind of worn, like it needed an upgrade. We had an appointment, but they weren't ready with anybody for us. They just had us walk around with this lady and she didn't seem very prepared or able to give us that much information.

I dont recommend this place it is not healthy for our loved ones, i went there to take a look at the facility because I am looking for one for my grandparents but unfortunately the facility was so dirty. From the Administrator to staff all of them are so unprofessional. The receptionist does not know how to handle simple queries. I can never trust them to take care of my grandparents. So I cannot recommend this place. Better look for another facility that is clean, Administrator and staff that are professional. A BIG NO to this place. In order for me to submit this review i need to click one star but the truth is Victorian Manor does not deserve any star.

My mother has been a resident at Victorian Manor since 2002. I have toured many facilities and the resident rooms are much larger at Victorian Manor than other Facilities in San Francisco. The food is great and they have accommodated my mothers changing dietary needs over the years. The staff is very attentive to my mothers needs, and the activities program is wonderful. The only challenge on the weekends is parking.
