Reo Vista Healthcare Center was pretty good. My brother liked being there a lot. One of my concerns, though, was that they have people going out from the entrance of the door and sometimes I feel like people could smash their fingers or their hands by opening those doors. They should have somebody that will assist them in opening the front door because they go out just to see the view. The first time my brother was in a room, one of my sisters found out that that room had mold. So she spoke with the director, making concerns about that room and they changed it. Their maintenance was good. I think it's a decent and clean place. I know they were remodeling stuff, which looks good. I also like that every time they will have lunch, they will put on a tablecloth and they will bring the food to the patients. Anything that they needed, they were there for the patients to bring them coffee, tea, or even ice cream or Jell-O, which I thought was a good service. My brother liked their bingo and lottery. He was so active on their stuff. He will go to the lunch area where they have the dinner place and where they do different activities. That's what I specifically liked, that they had a lot of activities. The staff just needs a little bit more training.

I am only giving two stars because the PT was amazing and the receptionists were amazing. The admin-zero stars! Nursing-for the majority zero stars! There were 1 or 2 nice nurses, however my family member was not taken care, she got a Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection and no one even cared. I had to constantly "nurse," my family member and make sure she was ok!

I could not have asked for better accommodations. My bed overlooked a lovely patio area with grass and trees,it was very peaceful. The staff here was fantastic, and a few of them stand out for being especially kind and helpful with my rehabilitation after hip replacement surgery: Nora, CNA was my biggest helper, she was always so willing to offer help and did it willingly. Michelle, LVN was wonderful in giving me my meds on time and when I really needed my special ones. Emma was great too. The Physical and Occupational Therapists were so kind and helpful in getting my strength back. I owe a lot to Jodi, Eunice, Beth & Ralph. Oggie was great in getting me to and from Therapeutic Dining, I loved his sense of humor too. The food was excellent and I have 100% praise for everything and everyone at Rio Vista.

Attention to the appropriate personnel: First of all thank you to all the Admission team and the workers who form a grand family, for the attention that helped my health and the therapy. I would also recommend those who need your services. Thank you for treating me like family. Yours truly, A. Ybarra

It’s just the kindness and the caring. I can tell everybody that works there and I come in to contact with regarding my husband are generally concerned. It’s not just another job for them. They really take good care of him. I’d recognize Sonia, one of the C.N.A.’s he had before they moved his room. Everybody has been just wonderful! I know Sonia was very patient with him, he gets agitated at times Susan (wife)

Mine and my family's experiance with the Rio Vista Nursing home was deffinately NOT a possiteve one. My Grandmother had gotten injured pretty bad and for a while, she could not help herself around. We had addmited her to the nursing home under the impression that she would be very well taken care of. During her short stay, the staff on hand were very rude, unhelpful, and seeming like their jobs did not meet their individual expectations of how to care for the elderly. On several occasions, they refused to listen to my Grandmothers needs and concerns. Their way to best "deal" with her included pumping her body full of pain medication day and night until it litteraly was shutting her kidneys down from the excessive amount administered. She was then rushed to the hospital, resulting in several dialasys treatments to clean her blood to rid her body of overdose of toxins. I would not recomend this facility to anyone who is looking to receive assistance in the care of an elderly person in your family.
