My mother is a resident of The Chateau at River's Edge. I think it's really nice and I like it myself. They're pretty good with the housekeeping. They have five or six activities a day even though she's not interested in them, but they have it available. I think the food is very good. They go through a lot of trouble to make a nice meal.

The facility aides are, in general, very nice. and work hard, but they are overstretched, with way too many residents to assist. It often takes over an hour for a request for help to be answered. Requests for as needed medications for things such as pain or nausea are also often very delayed, well over an hour. Laundry is often not done on schedule and showers/baths are often missed. Discussions with the administration regarding issues resulted in no improvement. The environment is nice, but resident care is deficient.

Chateau at River's Edge was very friendly and very beautiful. The food was delicious. The people were attentive. The residents were ambulatory and in wheelchairs. It was very finely decorated. The rooms seemed to have lots of storage. It would be very nice to have visitors there because it was very pretty and had a private dining room for company. However, it was a little expensive for me.

I toured at the independent living part of The Chateau at River’s Edge, and it was nicely decorated and well kept. The food was good, but I just didn’t have a good response to it. The residents seemed happy enough; some were dining, and others were just walking around and seemed OK. The apartments were very small.

I saw The Chateau at River’s Edge and liked it very much. They had larger rooms and were extremely accommodating. They were limited in where they would take you on their bus as far as doctors go. I would have to be on the first floor because I use a power chair. They had a very active community which I liked, and gated, beautiful grounds that I really enjoyed. Their activities were excellent, and I liked the fact that they had an assisted living right next to the independent living because very often, even though I hav a wheelchair, I enjoy the activities. They were on about seven acres, and I was a little concerned about the fact that they were so close to the Sacramento River, but they had built it for safety, which I thought was really wonderful.

My mom was a resident of Chateau at River's Edge. The place was very nice. I did not see any problems with regard to the staff’s work ethics because they always came right away when she needed help and were very good. They have different activities like movies, a bus that takes them on their doctors' appointments or to shopping, games, and arts and crafts. Their dining area was very nice.

The Chateau at River’s Edge was beautiful and organized but definitely out of our price range. I very much liked the room; it had a balcony. The amenities, the dining room, and the recreation room were beautiful. It was a gated community with lots of shade trees. They had a lovely fireplace, a library, a room with chairs for chair aerobics, and a room where they showed movies.

Chateau at River's Edge was very nice but a little on the expensive side. The staff was OK. The facility was large, but the memory care unit was small.

I liked The Chateau. The staff went out of its way to make sure I felt comfortable. They were very accommodating, and they had beautiful grounds. They were right next to apartments and the American River Parkway, but they had a fence completely around the place. So, as long as you were within those grounds, you would feel safe moving around in it. However, I was not sure that I would feel completely safe driving my wheelchair to some places. I would not feel comfortable, but it was a beautiful place. They were exceptionally accommodating and caring. They were among my first choices. The people there were very outstanding and everybody came to greeted me like an old friend, which was so nice.

Chateau at River's Edge is fine. They have a few different options for the rooms. The food is really good. I like the place. It is well maintained.

Chateau at River's Edge was one of the places under consideration, but they didn't have the two-bedroom, two-bathroom available. I was impressed with the facility, the people, and what they had to offer. So that's why we were considering using them. The only problem was they didn't have a unit available that would fit the needs we have for our parents. But it was one that my stepsister wanted us to put them into. I would highly recommend them. The rooms were a little larger and they had a good care ratio. The location was good, it was quiet, and they had a duck pond on the property. They also had an orchard and a place where people could do their own gardening, depending on how handicapped they were. I was impressed with how they were handling themselves, except that they didn't have everything that we needed.
