I have nothing bad to say about A Brand New Day. My loved one was under hospice care, they have a special area for the hospice patients. They were helping him get dressed, but his dementia was getting bad, so they did everything for him. Theres a nurse there, they checked his vitals every day, so thats why they called hospice. They have games, they would get together and play, once a week they took everyone out for lunch to different restaurants by bus, and they have several TV rooms. He was in a shared room, although they also have private rooms. The staff was very helpful, very polite, and very nice.

I visited A Brand New Day. They did not have assisted care, just memory care. They're brand new. The person who gave me the tour was pretty new, so what she gave me was basic stuff. The facility, in general, was clean. The room is good-sized compared to others. They had nice outdoor common areas, like patios. They have a very small community, not very big at all. The gal that showed me around for the tour was not really knowledgeable. As far as the facilities went, they weren't plush or anything, but it was clean and adequate.

I went to A Brand New Day and was a little early for my appointment (about 10 minutes). So, I walked through the gate and into the house, but no one was there. I had to wait before someone showed up. I even walked toward the back and still, nobody appeared. To me, that was kind of a negative. Nobody should be able to walk into a memory care facility or walk out without someone noticing. When I went in there, everybody was sitting around watching TV, which was OK, but I didn't see anything else going on and there were no walking trails. The staff seemed to be nice though and the lady that showed me around was very pleasant. It was an older home. The amenities were quite a bit less attractive. The rooms were small, very dark, and very old. It was clean but it was just in need of repairs. The upkeep and things were still great.

My mom will be moving to A Brand New Day. We chose it because it was more family-oriented. They're together and not separated, they're in the day room together, it's less formal like a family. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful and very caring. They have a courtyard and a nice family room that's big enough for all the residents.

There's nothing bad about A Brand New Day. It was just a larger place than where my dad is. They take care of the residents, they do laundry, and they feed them. They had a little dining area where they could come and eat. I know they had transportation if they wanted to go somewhere. The rooms had windows, and you could peek through the window. The layout wasn't bad.

My husband was a hospice patient/resident at A Brand New Day. I couldn't have asked for a better, compassionate care than he received. Everyone took excellent care of him and me while I was visiting.
