My mother in law has lived in an Independent Living apartment at Gold Country for almost 10 years. She loves her small apartment and that she doesn't have to do housework or cook. She still raves about how much she enjoys the activities (on and off campus) and how much she loves the staff. We visit once a year and in the past have stayed in their guest rooms when they were available so we've eaten the same food and walked the same halls as those who live there. The facility has always been clean - except during renovations - and that is understandable. The dining room is beautiful and we really like their new, restaurant-style menu. Although I do wish we could convince her to move closer to family, she loves living at Gold Country and the relationships she's built with her neighbors and the staff. I love that they maintain a Facebook page. When your loved one is far away, being able to see them enjoying life eases some of the worry.

We went to look at Gold Country Senior Living. I don't think there was anything we really disliked. The gal who took us for our tour could not have been nicer. I know that they're doing a big remodel. It was very warm and felt friendly. The dining room was beautiful. My mom and I said it felt almost like we were on a cruise ship in the dining room. They had a nice menu as if you were at a restaurant. The places were super cute, like the little rooms that you rent out. They have upgrades if you wanted different colored cabinets or things like that for no extra charge. It was just a very nice place and everything's covered. So if you're going from your building to the dining room, it's covered. You're not walking outside if it's raining or something like that. There are tons of activities. We had lunch there, and the food was wonderful. I would want to live there. Once a week, they have housekeeping. All three meals are provided. It is super close to where I am.

I toured Gold Country Senior Living yesterday. It surprised us how much we liked it because we're 76 and we are looking towards the future, not immediate plans, but it was clean. It had lovely views. The staff, everyone was so friendly. Every resident that we met and spoke to was very happy to be there. We had a complimentary meal and it was excellent in their beautiful dining room. They had a lot of activities for the residents to do. They had a lot of social activities, so we were pleasantly surprised. The apartments were clean and well-maintained. We live in a house. So they seemed small to us, but adequate. The waitstaff was so friendly, and the residents came up to us, introduced themselves, and asked about us. So, it was very nice.

Gold Country Retirement Community was wonderful. The staff who toured me around was good. The inside was perfect. The dining room was big and had a good selection of delicious food. They had an exercise group, movies, and games.

Gold Country Retirement Center had varying degrees of assisted living. They had apartments where you could take your pets and senior activities. They drive you to shops and take field trips out to shows. They have three meals a day that you can eat cafeteria style. They will come and do your laundry. If you want to do pill administration or medical administration, you have to get help from an agency that works in conjunction with them because they do not do it there. The food looked extremely appetizing. It looked restaurant style and you could order off of a menu.

Gold Country is OK. My mom has been there for four years in the independent living, but she has personal care. She has a clean two-bedroom, two-bath apartment with a kitchen. They have outings, an exercise room, and church.
