Besides being a nice place, Oakmont of El Dorado Hills had a nice little private garden set up in the middle of the facility. So, if someone wanted to get out, they had a nice little private area for them. They showed us just about everything. They have their own hair and nail salon in the building.

My parents will be moving into Oakmont of El Dorado Hills. We like that they can be in assisted living, and then if my dad needs to go to memory care, he can move to memory care. The facility is very nice and very clean. It is a place that I think that my parents would do well in because it is quiet. It just works well for our family. They have a salon. The staff has been very nice. The food is fine and the dining area is very nice.

My tour at Oakmont of El Dorado Hills was wonderful. They were very friendly. It was a little more upscale, but there were lots of activities and lots of accommodations for seniors. It was gorgeous. I think they had just about everything. They had a salon, a gym, a dining facility, a little store, and lots of outdoor stuff. The staff who toured me were very friendly. I had lots of questions and they had lots of answers. My aunt who I was looking for was pretty specific about some things, and they were able to answer everything and pretty much gave me everything I needed.

By far one of the worst experiences. The facility is beautiful but beauty, as they say, is only skin deep. Horrific care. My mother was never the same after being at this facility. They didn't check her blood thinner meds and she start bleeding out. Her whole body was black/blue and she was in ICU for 2 weeks. She was never the same. The food in the main area was very good. When they moved her to memory care because they couldn't take care of her properly in the other area (not because she needed memory care) the food was literally mush. Run don't walk from this facility.

Oakmont of El Dorado Hills is great. They're our first choice right now. We like everything about them, the layout of the development, the ease of finding your way around, and the courtyard in the center. It seemed very clean and well-maintained. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The dining area was very open, friendly, and nice.

If you are looking for a beautiful facility, Oakmont is for you. However, if you are looking for a facility where safety and the health of you or your loved ones is paramount, I would look somewhere else. They have had a care staff turnover in one year of over 90% including nurses. The rotating new caregivers are not trained properly. They didn't put my wife's catheter bag strap on properly and it pulled causing bleeding. They often have caregiving staff not show up, with the result of not enough caregivers for the residents needs. Their pendant calling system is not reliable. It not only doesn't prioritize calls, but often doesn't work at all. It doesn't register falls, and emergency needs can not be determined when pushed. I have not had my pendant for over a month because it didn't work. The care staff wants to do their best, and are as helpful as they can be. But, they need to be trained with a knowledgeable on sight mentor. The food is inconsistent and terrible at best. It is often only warm with the vegetables never hot. The serving staff is inadequate and not trained properly. They are slow to take orders, and serve your food in a timely fashion.

The food is terrible. Strange recipes and over cooked.
