I have been in El Dorado Estates for two years now. What I like best is the building itself. I believe it was designed and built as a senior retirement center. The hallways are wide. Everything is very well-lit. The décor is intentionally made to make residents feel that they're in a plush environment. There are a lot of paintings on the walls, and a lot of art pieces, sculptures, and things are spread throughout the facility. The dining hall has a two-story ceiling. You have a lot of space in the dining hall with multiple chandeliers. It's a very beautiful environment. The facilities are top-notch. There's a gym for exercising and working out. All of the exercise machines are the best you could get in the market. They're very good machines. My dislike is the way the meal system is designed. There is no time window for having breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There's one set time and you must be there at that time. If you come late, then the items that have been served before you got there are not available to you. They don't back up and bring you something that you missed in case you're late. So the schedule is very, very restrictive. The other ones that I toured had a two-hour window for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and that made it much easier. Most of the staff are exceptional, but there are a few that are problematic. Also, their rent is at the lower end of the rent scale that most are charging.

I went to El Dorado Estates Gracious Retirement Living for a tour, but I actually do know somebody that had moved there. She's absolutely thrilled with the place, so that was a good reference. I was only able to see two units and one of them was a one-bedroom. I wanted a two-bedroom; but as it turns out, their two bedrooms got a long waiting list. The current residents would get first choice. It was a bit of a drawback if one were ready to make a move, but it's a nice looking facility. It's well kept and appeared to be a place that if I wanted to make a change, it would certainly be something I'd consider. Ths staff was quite thorough, and I felt free to ask her questions. She did well. It's a beautiful setting, and the building was relatively new.

El Dorado Estates is fabulous. It's brand new and my mother loves it. It has a nice layout. She has a studio and it's perfect sized. Everything is perfect. She has a balcony and it's great. Everyone there is so nice. The food is really good, but their meals have times and you can't just go in when you want to eat breakfast. You have to get there at 8:00 and she doesn't make it for breakfast very often. Their lunchtime is at 12:30, which is their big meal, and supper is 5:30. She has a little kitchen with a full size refrigerator and microwave. She likes playing games like bingo, Mexican train, and beanbag baseball. They have church services, a movie theater, and a bus and they have scheduled outings a couple of times a week. They'll take you to doctors and dentists and to the casino. It's spotless, too. It's good value compared to the other ones and a little bit less expensive.

El Dorado Estates Gracious Retirement Living is very nice and brand new. The staff is knowledgeable and nice. I participate in some of the activities, like games and walks. There are one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, and the grounds are very nice.
