I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother is in Diamond Ridge Healthcare Center. To me, it's been working out well. He likes it. They give him a lot of physical therapy. So far, it's been pretty good. It's better than I thought it was going to be. It's clean and welcoming. Everybody is very friendly and welcoming. I really couldn't say anything bad about it because they treated my brother well. They make sure I'm informed about what's going on with them if anything happens. He cleans his plate. I haven't had any complaints from him about food. He enjoys his meals. The times that I have been there, there is always something going on, but I haven't interacted in any of it. He has been there when they've had activities, but not participating.

I visited this facility

I went to Diamond Ridge Healthcare Center, but they have not called me back since then. It looked beautiful, but they won't return my phone calls. It looked clean and full of happy people. It looked like it was definitely our choice. We were very pleased during the tour, we saw all of the facilities, and some of the patients there. Everybody seemed happy and was interacting with each other, even though we were wearing masks of course. We were favorably impressed and wanted to pursue getting my father placed there. The staff seemed friendly and happy, and they were informative. It looked perfect, it was exactly what I wanted for my father. The rooms were for two people, that was fine, and all the people we saw looked happy and open, and seemed to be interested in seeing strangers walking around. It's tucked back behind the FireHouse and it's next to the Los Medanos Hospital, and that is about two blocks from where I live. That was perfect for me. The menus looked adequate.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm now in Healthcare Center. It's very good and like a hospital with all kinds of medical treatments. They have physical programs and all kinds of games, too. They have plenty of staff members who are highly skilled and know how to do whatever they have to do. The food is good. Each individual gets what his or her diet requires.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mom came from Diamond Ridge rehab facility in Pittsburg which I was not happy with. I just put in a complaint with licensing on how my mother was treated. When she was brought to the other facility, there was no mention in any medical report that mother had second to third degree bedsores on her behind. That's what really ticked me off. She didn't deserve that. Mother only had pureed food, and they were told at the beginning that she didn't like mashed potatoes, but they would give it to her almost every night. My feeling was there weren't enough persons there to handle the amount of patients that they have in the facility. They were overworked and could not take care of people the way they should have been taken care of. Most of the employees were very good. They tried under tough circumstances to do what they could do. There were some that were questionable. Overall, there were enough of them to handle the patients they have. That atmosphere seemed like Diamond Ridge was more concerned about the money than anything else. Her bedsores started there. When I went to see my mom, she was having trouble breathing, but no one there had noticed it. The nurse came, and they wanted to ship her to the hospital. When she got to the hospital, she was dehydrated. It is because they didn't give her enough fluids. When they rolled her over, they had put coverings on her behind. She had bedsores, and it just got worse. They never made any notation on any reports to the nurses or the doctors. It just got passed on. Originally, she was in a room with one other roommate. Then they moved her into a room for three people. They clean it from time to time. The personnel that were handling the patients were just overwhelmed with the amount of patients.

I am/was a resident of this facility

My stay at Diamond Ridge was terrible. The food was horrible, some of the beds were old, and it took me about a week before I got a bed that I could control myself. The people were very nice, and the facility looked nice. My mother stayed there for two-and-a-half years, and she really didn't complain.

I would recommend Diamond Ridge. It was clean, and -- according to my mother -- the staff was very friendly, and the health care was also very good. They did have a bunch of activities.

Diamond Ridge was a great place, but extremely expensive. My father-in-law was there for probably 35 days. He was basically in rehab, so they had them do some stuff with his feet, pedaling, doing stuff like that. But they're $8,000 a month. He could not afford that. The staff was fine, they were clean, and I like the location. It's a nice place, but it's too expensive.

I visited this facility

STAY AWAY. 3 beds to a room, 1 bathroom for 2 rooms to share - NOT GOOD. Residents wandering hallways at all hours of the night, items missing constantly. You have to bring your own TV, pay for your own cable and phone. My mother was given a tranquilizer by accident. Never again will I allow my mother to go here.
