My husband is already in Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights; they seem to be fine. They have a restaurant. My husband has people coming in from the outside to do physical therapy because they don't do physical therapy there. Their dining area is very nice, and it's a good looking place. They said their Wi-Fi was free, but then they told me that I had to find him his own Wi-Fi. One of the reasons I picked them was because they had their own Wifi, so I don't quite know what to say. The staff is getting better. They're charging you for extensive care, and I just want to make sure that they give it to him. The button that's around his neck didn't work at first. He'd be pushing it and nobody would come; he was wondering why. When I came in one day, we went to the front desk and found out it didn't work; they fixed it. The residents here seem pretty happy, so that's good. The environment there is very nice.

I toured Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. It seemed like a very friendly and safe place. That's a nice facility. They have comfortable and cozy little rooms. I would recommend it to others, but I needed something with more care.

I was a resident of Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. The cottage was nice, but the water heater kept turning off. I called them and said they sent somebody to relight it. The next day it would be off. They said they will fix it or replace it. They just sent our maintenance guy over to fix it or turn it back on, but there was no maintenance whatsoever done there. If you're broke, you're out of luck. Their activities and programs were terrible. I mean, almost nonexistent. I asked them what kind of activities they have and they said they have lots of activities, but lots of activities were all designed for people sitting down in chairs or wheelchairs. I was looking for something like an easy hike. They had no sports. They had no crafts. They told me that it was restaurant quality, but it was not. It was more crap they could buy in big frozen amounts, I think. It looks good on the outside. The grass is green and it has a sprinkler system, but beyond that, it's terrible. They need to start repairing nonfunctional equipment, the elevators, and the water heater, and the disposal didn't function. I never got a key to my cottage, so I had to leave it unlocked whenever I went out. It was terrible.

I toured the memory care of Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. I thought the room was very nice. It had a good window and a view, it was big enough and had a nice bathroom. The part where the assisted living people are was really nice too. It's got nice furniture and just everything about it is cozy and friendly. The memory care place has this strange walk that you need to do, though. You go down, take the elevator, and then go around. I think people visiting will sort of think that this is very strange like I did. It is an old place that they have remodeled so it feels so strange to walk up and then take an elevator and then down to another and up to another. The parking was also very bad. I think people that work there pretty much park there and there's really no space left. I had to park in the handicapped space, and I didn't even have a handicapped sticker. Those are the ones I didn't like too much about the parking and the place itself. The dining room, the rooms for visiting, and the rooms where the residents hang out, sort of their community room, were all fine. They were having a birthday party for somebody during my visit and the atmosphere seemed friendly. The staff was also friendly and just seemed like they knew their jobs well. They also have an outdoor area, which is like a deck that looks out to a view. My husband likes to take walks but I thought he could walk out on the deck and then walk right back in and that's about it. There's no proper garden or a wider walking space for people who want to walk out and get away for a while. It's an outdoor garden, but it's not a very good one. It also doesn't have shade because there are no trees. The layout is weird. The room itself and some of the facilities were nice. The part I didn't like was where the residents would go when they wanted to be out. I thought there was a little garden or something they could go outside to in that deck, but it had no trees and it just had some bushes. I didn't care for it, I did not think it was that great. The place was clean, though.

I like Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. That was my favorite. They had a nice two-bedroom and it was in the price range I could afford. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. It was an older place, but it still was very, very nice and very well-kept. The rooms were very nice. They had balconies and they were roomy. The dining area was lovely. The nice thing I liked about them is they did not require that you do all your meals there. You can choose just to do dinner and it's an ala carte charge, which is $9 and you don't have to do breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which some places require that you have to do all three and I didn't want to do that. it's been around for 100 years, but they've kept it up nicely. They had a mile and a half little walking trails. I was very impressed with what they had. It was a larger community. It was nice that in the independent living, they have underground parking, and it felt very safe. They have a lot of activities, which I like.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was nice. The lady was very knowledgeable and nice. It's a nice location. The grounds were nice. There's a lot of greenery. It's close to the highway. The first studio that was shown was the lowest price. It was extremely small, smaller than a hospital room, so I didn't care for that. The bigger size studios were nice, but a little small as well. Other than that, it was nice. The dining area was nice. They had group tables. When I was there, most people were in the dining room eating.

I like the fact that Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was clean, but it was kind of high. I didn't like the high-rise part of it. The staff was fine. They had activities and they had different rooms where they facilitated some activities. They have a room where they have weights and stuff like that. They have a courtyard and restaurants and stuff. It's near Lake Merritt. They have shuttle buses, so the residents can go to shopping malls and pharmacies.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was somewhat shabby. It's just obviously in need of upgrading. The rooms were okay, and a little bit better than the other place. It had an electric stove in the room. I'm not sure that I would want an electric stove in the room, I'm worried about my friend starting a fire. The rooms are a little bit bigger. It had the same facilities, but It just wasn't nearly as nice. It was a very large, gated community with a swing gate for cars to come in, and it would be a lot easier to walk out of the facility.

I toured Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. The community was nice. The building was nice and everything. The person who gave the tour was really nice. She introduced me to another section of the building. They had some patios outside. The outdoor spaces were very nice. It was green with trees and stuff. It seemed to be upkept really good.

I toured Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. The appearance was good. This seemed more homey. It's on five acres, so that's something good. Everything was clean and everything was in its place. Some of the patients were in the activity room and the other people were drawing and paying attention to the activity person. I was told that they have music at times. They have gatherings where they invite people in memory care to music things or movies that are being shown to those with assisted living, too, so they get that kind of event. I saw their calendar for August, and it had different things like going to the doctor and some fun stuff, and that was good, too. I met with the director of communications, and she led me throughout the building. I liked her. She seemed caring, she knew what she was doing, and she was not in a rush. She said that she won't pressure me, and that was good, too.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights has little individual houses, which are very nice, but I don't see any point in moving from my freestanding house here to a freestanding house somewhere else. The staff was very nice and very helpful. The community itself was very clean and well-maintained. The campus is very widespread and many of the individual houses are far from the community areas, so I didn't check that out because it would not be a convenient way to live. The houses were spacious and well laid out.

The tour director at Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was very thorough. She asked me questions about what I would be interested in and told me about the opportunities at the organization, but it wasn't something I was interested in. I didn't exactly like the location. The independent living apartments needed to be updated. All the activities take place in a building where all the residents meet, and that particular building was very institutional appearing. They have a range of amenities for people who are less mobile than me and I decided it's not the kind of place that I would need to be. They had a salon. They had various activities for the people, but it seemed like most of the people had greater needs than I would have. The menu looked nice. The dining area had kind of an institutional look. It's not very bright. It's very dark in the main building where all the people meet together. I think they need to figure out how to brighten it up and update the independent living apartments and make them more modern.

I looked at Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. The facilities looked quite feasible. There are six or so levels of assistance with different prices and different levels of intervention. I saw the dining and the little library. Everything I saw was in good condition and I appreciated that. I got the sense that it would be an optimistic place to live, but I was a little surprised at how expensive it was. I didn't have a meal. I just got to look at the bulletin boards and some of the menus on the bulletin boards. It's a relatively modern facility and it was perfectly clean. The rooms were larger than the others I looked at, and they had several available. They had a recreation room, and they talked about happy hours, both nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages being available. I liked the fact that they had a separate facility that the residents could use to organize their own activities. I only really spoke with the coordinator who has the role of showing people around. I saw other staff, but I didn't interact with them that much. They were certainly friendly at the front desk and it felt like a welcoming space. The coordinator had answers to all my questions and was very forthcoming with information. It's hard to keep a place looking that good, so they were doing the job.

I went to Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. It was a pleasant tour. Shannon was very knowledgeable and helpful. The facility overall was very nice. She showed us a room, which she said would be my dad's room if he was assigned there. I did not necessarily like the room, but otherwise, it was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. While we were there, they had one social room and the residents were in there with a piano player. They were singing and enjoying that. We saw the pool tables and the recreation facilities along with the exercise bikes and treadmills. They covered everything, even the dining area, but we didn't try the food. The dining area was nice and pretty clean. It was an older building, but otherwise, it was nice.

I went to visit Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights for my mom. I set up a meeting and a tour with them because they were in my price range, but when I went there, the prices were not what they were advertising, they were higher. The tour was good and they provided all the information that we needed. It was just the price that was not for me. I saw the rooms that they had available, they were nice ones. I was able to see the lunchroom or cafeteria, and some of their amenities like the library, and a little garden that they have. The facility itself is pretty nice, it's just not within my price range. The only staff person I spoke with was the coordinator for in-taking. I didn't eat there but they showed me their menu.

We visited Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. The tour was excellent. We were greeted professionally. We received a brochure. They explained the different kinds of housing arrangements. They gave us a tour of the facilities and the rooms. It was very well done. The rooms were very well kept up. They have different kinds of rooms with different features that cost more. The room that was available that we looked at had a little balcony, which was super nice. The thing that troubled me just personally was that there wasn't enough natural light, but it's an older building and we'd have to supplement the light. That was the only downside. Otherwise, I found it to be adequate. It was good. There wasn't any activity scheduled when we were there. We came around lunchtime. We didn't even think to try their food, but we observed people enjoying it. Their dining room was pretty full. The living atmosphere was good, and it had a lot of charm. It was well kept up, and the people were very courteous and kind. The limiting factor for me was the price. We would have enjoyed placing mom there, but we just couldn't afford it. The staff was all very good.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was kind of a vintage building. It was more of an old structure. I think it's been there a long time. We like to have more sunlight, but their rooms were a little bit darker. It's not getting enough sun for us, but the price was quite attractive and they provide three meals a day.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was a very unique place. It felt warm and I liked it immediately. The building was nice and I loved it. When the staff gave me the tour, she was very detailed about everything and I liked her. Every question I was supposed to ask, she already told me the information. The dining area looked nice. There were residents there, and everybody said the food was good. The room that I saw was the smallest and that was too small for me. So, I have to come back and see the rest of the rooms available. They had an art room, a library, a pool, and an outdoor area.

I visited Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. Allison, who was our host, was very accommodating and very nice. She gave us a lot of information regarding the process and policies of assisted living. The place itself was very accommodating. All the staff were friendly. The location itself was great. It's gated and it had the feel of a very safe environment. They showed us three different sizes of rooms. Similar to the other places, all seven days are booked with activities including exercise activities for the residents to take advantage of if they wanted to. They have a very nice library and it's very cozy. They also have a salon that they offer to the residents.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights is an old place. What was important to me was having so many rooms for the people who stay there to congregate together. I saw groups of people sitting together and enjoying themselves, conversing, and being together. There are nature places. There were a lot of outdoor spots where people could sit and be in nature; that is extremely important to me. They have planned activities. They also have a regular happy hour where they get together, and some people play the piano. They also have a van that takes people to appointments. I like the fact that they have a locked gate to keep people in there who might wander off a little bit. It was important to me, too. The staff who gave me the tour was very good. She was new on the job, and she did seek out information that she wasn't quite sure of with another worker who had been there longer. She showed me the accommodations for both independent and assisted living. The dining area looked nice and airy. The other thing that was important to me is the natural light inside the building. It had good light. I wasn't crazy about the food, but I like the idea of fixing my own food. I would do that if I were independent. I don't eat American food all that much (I mean, the standard stuff); I like a mixture of stuff. Another thing I want to point out is the balance of ethnic groups there. There are a lot of African Americans, Asians, and Caucasians. I like a mix of people and cultures. I thought the place was very clean.

My sister-in-law moved into Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. It's very nice, although she hasn't taken advantage of everything that they have. It seems to be a very nice location. She has a studio, and it's very nice. They have different events on different days. They have happy hour on Fridays. They do little bus tours on Friday. My sister-in-law is not happy with the food. They have an exercise area, a theater room, a big dining room, a lot of areas where she can sit out in the sun, and a church on the premises. It was very expensive. The place is very pretty. The cleaning staff is always around cleaning rooms.

There was a lot that we liked about Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. First, the place was very nice, then we liked the fact that we could transition into assisted living as needed. We also liked that they had physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy on-site. One of the selling points was you live in separate little cottages in the independent living there. They had a gym, a game room, and a movie theater. The lady giving us the tour was very nice, too.

We toured Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. I like the whole feel of the place. There are a lot of common areas. It has all the services and amenities that my mother-in-law needs. It's beautiful ground. It has some grassy areas. The staff is very friendly. The tour guide, which is the sales director, has been very personable and friendly, telling us what it is. She just tells me like it is. We needed onsite medical. They have doctors and nurses on site that can first evaluate, look, and maybe even treat if it is not a major problem, so we like that. If an emergency comes, there's someone there to come and evaluate, so that's a very good thing. They also contract with people to do rehab, so there are physical therapists and occupational therapists on site. They have a hair salon there so I don't have to bring my mother-in-law to go out and get a haircut, just make an appointment. Of course, with these things, you have to pay extra fees, but the facility accommodates all these things. The place has a library, a billiards room, and a movie theater. And it's a gated community, so not like everybody can just walk in, you have to go through a gate with a code.

The people at Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights were very nice and seemed capable. The facility had a lot of outdoor space. It's like a little gated neighborhood, but it's very rundown and older. There wasn't a lot of lively community happening. It was kind of quiet and not much going on. They had a nice building and nice rooms, but there's not much good energy. They had a couple of little library lounge areas, some activities, little day trips, and arts and crafts.

We visited Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. It was nice, it was clean, and it was close to where our families are located. We're looking to go back and look into a bundle like a detached apartment or townhouse that they have. The person was nice, and the director we met with was good. Memory care and primary care are all we looked at. They have everything there, and they have full amenities. The thing that stood out to most for us was how close it was to where all our families are living, so that's one of the major things we're looking at. We saw the dining facilities and they were impressive and upgraded. They said they had activities in memory care. The room was a little dissatisfying, it was small, and it looked like a little hospital room. It's very plain, but I'm sure we would have to decorate the room for my older sister.

We did a tour of Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights, and we like that she has her own private room, and she can have her own furniture. They have a beautiful dining area. It was just nice. They have gardens and stuff, so she could look out the windows, it was beautiful. My sister has to be in a wheelchair; in her room, and pretty much all the rooms, you could look out at the gardens. You can go out and sit down in the courtyard yard. Plus, it's convenient for my other sister that's just right down the road from her. The people were just so nice. It was a really good visit. We met some of the people that lived there; one has been there for quite a while, and she just loves the place. Everybody seems to be happy, and they were moving around and just enjoying themselves. My sister is outgoing, so I think that would be a perfect fit for her. Everybody, there seems to be, friendly. The staff and the people that lived there were all really nice. The assisted living is where our sister is going to be. The staff was showing us the whole building. They're like little condos, those homes for the independent living across the street. I like it because it's gated. We've been in Oakland forever and never knew that place existed. It is truly a nice place. The lady, I guess she's the manager; I can't remember her name, but at some point, she was just so nice. She just treated us like she had known us forever. We got the feeling that's how she is with the people that live there because everybody knew her name. It was just amazing to us, everybody she passed, she knew their name. It was like a personal thing, like a family gathering or living or something. You felt just relaxed and comfortable. That's how we feel where we live. We went and told our sister and took the brochure and stuff. The lady, the manager, even called and talked to our sister. Like a personal friend or a personal family member or something. I can't explain it, but it was a nice visit. She was so nice and let me know she's been calling and checking in with us. We decided on a room; a single room like a little 1-bedroom. So, she's trying to make sure it's available when my sister gets out. She's been checking with us to make sure that it's going to have a release date soon. So, she's just a nice person. I can't remember the lady's name. They did offer food, but we didn't have time to stay. They have a menu they can choose from. The dining is just beautiful, it was nice. We told her we were going to come back, so we might just do that. It was clean. There were no smells, there was nothing. They were doing some construction. It was to put down new carpet and stuff. Even with that, the place was clean. The carpet and stuff that was put in were nice. It was a beautiful place. In some places you go to, you can smell; there was nothing there. It was clean, out and about, and doing their own thing.

I went to Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights with my sister, and it was a nice visit. They showed me a lot of places, including the memory care unit. My sisters even like the independent area, and she said that maybe they can try living there. Basically, we like it there very much. The rooms were nice, and the staff explained it to us. It was good. The staff who gave the tour was very good. We like that the location is convenient, and it's a big gated area. The people are friendly. We saw a class that was going on there. Just in general, they are good. Their gardens and walking areas look good too. The maintenance and upkeep look good as well. We like it there because of the buildings and the cleanliness. The outside and inside all look good.

I'm a resident in the independent living section of Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. Although I'm not getting assistance from them, I do take my meals in the main building, and I am comfortable here. I have been here for four months now, and I find it quite pleasant. It's not perfect, but it's better than most. I find the executive directors to be pretty much very agreeable to most suggestions and they seem to have the residents' best interest at heart. I find the place pleasant, and I find the grounds surrounding it very appealing. It's a comfortable place, and I can't expect them to do more than they have done during this terrible time for everybody. With the housekeeping and the servers, I would rate them a 4, but I'm not completely happy with the maintenance people. The dining set-up is the same. It's out of the dining room with all the other mobile people that can come to the dining room. I've never had their breakfast, but their lunch is your main meal, and your dinner is normally sandwiches. I wish it was the other way around, but that's how they serve it, and very early you eat lunch at 11:30 and dinner at 4:30. They have bingo, movie at most nights, and exercise in the morning. Occasionally they have something out of the ordinary. For instance, they had a well-received talent show that went over very well. I would say that was all of the assistant social director is doing; I don't think there is much from the administration or from the director of social activities. I think this is the assistant's whole idea, but it's lacking. I'm in a studio apartment, so it's very small. I pay a little less than $4000, and it will go up in January.

Pacifica Senior Living is amazing. The management and staff really go above and beyond. They are embracing Carolyn and making her a part of their lives. They are using her dining table for everyone to share, just outside her door. Whatever she needed, they got it for her. Carolyn’s room is small but adequate!

Selecting a good facility at a reasonable price isn't easy! It took a couple of visits to this lovely facility, and multiple conversations with the friendly, helpful Exec. Dir. before we made the final choice. In addition to the tour, I had the opportunity to eat two of their delicious meals with my loved one who requires assisted living. Everyone was helpful and friendly and I wouldn't have minded moving in myself!

The staff are very dedicated to the general welfare of all the residents by creating a great sense community with various activities - such as weekly social events and movies, etc. The food is solid - healthy and varied. The dining room is really a restaurant with table service. The grounds are well maintained with flowers blooming all year-round - the roses gardens are a favorite as are the flowering trees. My father's cottage is charming - spacious and well appointed.

My family member arrived in poor physical health and needed quite a bit of assistance. Within a few months, due to the good food and responsive caring staff and consistent care, his physical and mental state is much improved. The staff really responds to questions and requests. I appreciate their help so much. The facility is comfortable and clean and attractive and the food is really good.

My 93+ year old mother has been in lndependent Living at Pacifica Oakland for almost 8 years. SHE LOVES HER APARTMENT. It has plenty of storage space and really makes her feel safe and secure. She adjusted well, primarily because the move was her choice. Her interactions with staff are good because she is a reasonable woman and willing to compromise on most things. She enjoys the arts/crafts programs, movies, lectures, and has made a group of friends who meet every week old-fashioned salon-style. The Pacifica bus to Kaiser allows her to take herself to doctor appointments on her own, which is wonderful.

We moved my mother in law into one of the cottages about 3 years ago. She lived indecently without supervised care, but was able to enjoy 3 meals a day and activities. She had a fridge, microwave and front and back porch. We'd drop off light groceries once a week and made arrangements for outside housekeeping. She washed her clothes on site. She eventually transitioned into memory care, but had developed releationships with staff that eased that transition

We've lived here 3 years. We find the accommodations we live in, the apartment, 2-bed/2-bath, with sitting room and so forth is very comfortable. We have a little deck and the property is beautifully landscaped. In our area we have some roses and in-season azaleas. Lots of roses and quite beautiful flowers. Our apartment is relatively modern. We're in the Salem Woods building. Has a kitchen. The food is ok. It's nourishing, there's plenty of it. You live in an institution with 100+ people; it's not like going to hotel. There are plenty of activities. There's music, art, puzzles, history, walking outdoors. All kinds of activities. You can do it or not. The activities are good. I do some; others I don't. They have a bus that will take you to the doctor. The same bus will take you shopping. They offer amenities, excursions, such as a drive to the Port of Oakland, or to the observatory in the hills. For people who have a car, there's parking (garage and street). My daughters come over; there's handicapped parking. When I first came here, I had 2-3 good caregivers who were really helpful to me.

I'm a resident of Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. It is a very nice facility. The people here are very helpful and friendly. The director is a woman named Ruth, and she's terrific. At least every second day, in the dining room, she'll go table to table and will ask people how they're doing it and if there's anything she needs to correct and stuff like that. The food is very, very good. If you get to eat lunch and dinner, you get a set meal, but if you don't want it, there are lots of alternatives from salads, hotdogs, cheeseburgers, egg salad, tuna salad, and sandwiches. It's very good. You can find something you want every day. The other residents are very nice. I'm friends with several of them. I eat breakfast with one person, lunch and dinner with another, and it is very pleasant. I would recommend this strongly. The staff is excellent. I don't really get engaged in any activities they have. They don't really interest me. They have a movie every night, usually just Saturday nights, but starting soon there'll be nightly and that'll be nice. I enjoy going to the movies. I don't want to be involved in spelling bees or bean tosses or stuff like that. The activities are geared for people more handicapped. The activities are sort of silly. My friend reads her poetry, but none of that stuff interests me. I just like being here. I like the food, I like the movies, and I like the staff a lot. I like it here a lot. I'm very happy that I chose this place, and people tell me it's really the best facility in Oakland, so I'm happy I'm here.

My 88 year old father started in respite care in early June following a short stint at the hospital and is transitioning to be a full time resident. While he was able to live alone up until recently, the day-to-day hassle of meal prep, social isolation, distance from immediate family and decreasing sure footedness, it was time to make a change, which he welcomed. I cannot praise enough the tremendous help we received from the executive director. Her positivity and unwavering commitment in guiding us through a time-critical situation was simply amazing. She is tireless and was always quick to return calls or text messages to answer any questions or concerns we had. While the facility is older, it's beautifully maintained and filled with a lot of craftsman detail and charm. The staff is very friendly and attentive and they went out of their way to introduce my father to the residents. This was a very welcome benefit following more than a year in Covid isolation at his home. There is a spectrum of people at Pacifica, many needing little to no assistance while others with clear memory care needs. It's also quite ethnically diverse, which for us being from the Bay Area was a huge plus. Most importantly, my father always seems content and happy and is enjoying his new surroundings.

I'm in Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights assisted living, but I get absolutely no assistance. I was living in independent and when my husband passed, I moved over into the assisted. I gave up an apartment for a room, so I moved from an apartment to a room, which I'm in now just for me. I'm satisfied with my room and I'm satisfied that I get no assistance. I'm happy with the living condition. I have a large room, large enough to accommodate my bedroom set and I have a full bedroom set, two dressers, a twin bed and two end tables. I also have a drop leaf dining room table all in this one room. I also have a little sofa and a cabinet. I have a lot of furniture in here, but I still have room. That's eight pieces plus a glider chair, and it's still not overcrowded. It's very nice size, and I also have a nice view out of my big window. It overlooks a nice garden and it overlooks the driveway that leads into the garage. I like my view. I'm happy and satisfied. I don't use any assistance. I only get housekeeping. I have a housekeeper come in one day a week. That's the only part of the staff that I use. Other than that, I'm independent. I do everything for myself, but the staff is very pleasant. The food is good and well balanced. I participate in many of the activities like the brain games. We have a well-equipped gym here and I use it three days a week, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I do strength training, I ride the bicycle for three miles without stopping, and I use the stepper machine. I use these things without fail because I know if I stop using them, I will go downhill, and I'm 97 years old. At the moment, we don't have an activity person, but we do joyrides.

They made surface level renovations so the facility looks way too fancy for the actual people living there, very odd decorating choices. Then they jacked up the costs and did away with all the activities, amenities, garden and general loving\fun vibe. They cannot keep the residents dressed in their own clothing (general free for all clothing swap) and my dad got scabies as a result. And then guess what….another price increase. They are about to make some changes, so finger crossed it’s all for the good of the residents and not their bottom line. My dad has lived there for several years.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was wonderful. Scott took me around and it was great. I liked all the apartments very much, and the dining room looked very nice. The setting was beautiful because it was very woodsy, green, and very lovely. I was very impressed by the amount of closet spaces in the rooms as well. However, I do a lot of painting and artwork, and the space for art is very limited there, so that's a concern for me. I really wanted them to somehow accommodate and have more space for artists to do their work, where we could store our easels, take it out, and work. Also, I hope they could have a driver that could drive the individuals to where they needed to go. With COVID, there's not as much activity going on, but I saw that they were getting ready to show a movie. It's a lovely environment, and it didn't feel at all institutional to me. Scott, the public relations person who took me around was wonderful, and then Aisis, the woman who greeted me, was wonderful too.

My loved one is at Pacifica Oakland Heights. Please know how absolutely delighted I am with my Aunt Hilde’s experience at Pacifica. I’m in awe of the staff and the tender, loving and compassionate care she is shown. She’s made a remarkable adjustment to her new surroundings—given that she lived independently until she was almost 104-years-old. I credit your fine staff with making her feel welcome; they “get” her. I can always count on your front desk staff to help me with anything I need. They are friendly and supportive. When something isn’t quite right, they want to know, they listen, take responsibility, and work toward resolution. The staff went “all out” for her 105th birthday: Staff helped her into a new frock, the salon did her hair and makeup, and she received hugs and kisses from everyone. Pamela reached out to me to offer her and Pacifica’s help in making sure this birthday was special. It was and my family was very touched and moved. Given I am so far away, I sleep at night knowing that my Aunt Hilde is in competent and caring hands. Pacifica was truly the right choice for her and me. Thank you and your staff for making her days calm and peaceful.

I loved Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights; it had a very sweet atmosphere. It was like a little village with a little main street to itself. The two-bedroom that we looked at was just too small and it only had one bathroom, so it wouldn't do. However, we liked the location because of the nature and the trees, and it's the kind of place that I like. The staff member who gave me the tour was very wonderful and very sweet. I had an overall very positive impression of the community. I liked it very much, and compared to other places I think this one is super. I just needed more space.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was great, but they couldn't take my mom because she has C. diff. We were also upset because at first we thought she was going to assisted living, and what happened was, when they started to do the assessment, it was when we found out that assisted living wouldn't be a good fit for her. They said a better fit would be memory care. Nevertheless, the community was very nice. We like it a lot. The staff was very nice. As a matter of fact, she called me several times afterwards. It was a beautiful building. It was very nice and spacious. They had nice rooms. The dining place was impressive because it looked more like a restaurant than a dining room. The building was old but very well kept. They had a lot of art deco, too. The director was amazing. She took her time from a busy schedule to come in and talk to me. They're very helpful.

The rooms were fine and had a window, so there's some light coming in, which my mother would like. They had standard entrees every day, and if you don't want to eat what they have, you can pick from their a la carte menu. They had trips they can go out on and services to take you to the doctor. My husband just moved into Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights last Monday. So far, it's very clean, the workers are very caring, but very busy. We're comfortable with the place. The only problem I have is, we move him to memory care, and the residents wander into other people's rooms, I found them sleeping in my husband's bed, and Im not happy with that. They were proactive in taking care of the people's complaints. I was lucky to get him a private room, but we're in a waiting list for a shared room as well. They have activities all day, they want them out of the room in the morning, have breakfast, assist them in getting ready for the day, and they take care of their meds. They offer 3 meals a day, 2 snacks, they keep him clean, and make sure they take care of them. They provide them simple meals and healthy snacks. It's an old building, they did the best they could with what they have, and it's clean.

I went to Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. It's a nice place. I'd move there in a minute, but I can't afford it. It seemed very warm and inviting. The young lady who assisted us was very friendly, and very practiced in the art of making you feel welcome and showing us the various places and the opportunities, and the choices that we would have. They provide a pool table, and a viewing room with a TV. The dining area was very nice, and I met the chef. They have cottages scattered around the area, and it's very attractive.

My mom moved into Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights. The staff is fabulous. The building itself is over 100 years old, but it's a fabulous facility. My mom loves the food, and it's been very good every time I've eaten there. Her room is small. They have a library stocked by donations and a really nice theater where they try to tailor the movies toward everybody. The staff is very good. It's in a location with the best weather in Oakland. There's just not enough parking. I was directed to a garage which is impossible to negotiate. The spaces are so small, you can hardly get in and out of them. They're in the process of remodeling, and their carpet is on their list to get done but hasn't been done yet and puts many people off because it's worn. It's a shame because that shouldn't stop anyone since it's a fabulous facility. It just doesn't give them a good look. It's horribly overpriced, but then everything is in the area.

The appearance and layout of Pacifica Oakland Heights is quite tremendous. The buildings and facilities are beautiful. The staff members are phenomenal, wonderful, and friendly people. I've only been here for several weeks and they always seem to know my name. They have a very large dining room that's beautifully done, where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I prefer to make my own breakfast and dinner on occasion because I have a nice kitchen. There's a tremendous amount of activities for the residents, and you can do what you like. Tomorrow we're going to the zoo, which should be fun.

Fred H., the Memory Care Director for Pacifica Oakland Heights, has made a huge and positive impact on my aunt Linda’s experience as a resident. He sets a very high standard for care for his staff. Ive often seen him talk my aunt into doing something she needs to do such as showering etc. with humor or charm. Over the last 3 years as resident she always says how happy she is, how cared for she feels. Fred gets a great deal of credit for this and my aunts safety. Believe me, with growing population of Alzheimer’s there have been challenges Fred has always worked well with us to solve and work through anything that has come up in the most helpful ways. He has a deep awareness of how dementia affects residents, while maintaining a warmth and kindness with every resident I’ve observed him with. But he isn't the only one, my dear aunt wouldn't be so happy and content if each and every staff member who came in contact with her didn't do the same: from the activities directors who stimulate her brain, to the other nurses and caregivers who are unfailingly capable, patient, respectful and kind. The food is of high quality and tasty, but I've asked them to consider serving more finger foods that are easier for dementia residents to eat. I've often joined my aunt at lunch and have very nutritious meals served then. And the staff are very much on hand to help out.

Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights was very nice. I liked the resident's apartment a lot. I thought the renovations they were doing there would really make it a much more inviting facility, and I liked the staff there that I met. I thought they were very pleasant, very attentive and informative. I thought the food was average. They had usual activities. They had crafts and fitness. They were renovating the place, so they were renovating the fitness room. They had their own in-house beauty salon. They had social activities and movies. They could improve on their food and the entrance lobby. I thought the rest of the place was quite nice, but the entrance lobby where you would go for the reception, I thought they should make that a nicer looking. They should look a little more luxurious and inviting. The facilities and apartments in the other building were very nice and impressive, but they needed nicer furniture and decor for the entrance on their reception area.

I visited Pacifica Senior Living. It was wonderful and seemed absolutely fabulous. I started to fantasize in my mind that I could afford it; then, I came down to reality and realized that my retirement would not be enough. They were very efficient and set up an appointment for me. There was a guy who called us and did a follow-up. They were great and really tried to make us feel so welcome. I wished I had a lot of money so I could go there. There were two bathrooms, one fitted-out for a disabled person. There weren't any stairs, so we would not have to walk up and down. There was a separate living quarters for independent living across the street from the facility. It was much nicer than it had to be and roomy. The buses were taking people here and there. There was a rose garden to sit in. Everybody was kind. The food and all-inclusive meals looked great.

We did find respite care for my mother at Pacifica Oakland Heights. We just did a tryout, because they're the only one that allowed us three days. My mother stayed there for three days. The staff was wonderful. They were very open and receptive to hearing what we would like to see at our next day. However, I would like to see that medication management is better watched. Nevertheless, they were very open to us coming and seeing the place, and they worked with our schedule. Like I said, they're the only one that allows a long weekend for respite as opposed to a two-week or one-month stay as a respite.

My mother has been in Pacifica Senior Living Oakland Heights going on three weeks. It's an old building, but it looks nice and is secluded right in the city. It's independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing all in one. However, we had some problems with the service, i.e., giving medicine to her on time, and the food is horrible. The grounds are great, but they'll be better because they're undergoing a major remodeling. She has very nice, two connecting rooms. There was a couple of really good people and a couple that aren't very good on-staff.
