My mother was living at southern highlands for approximately 8 years until she passed away recently in March 2020. My mother suffered from many medical ailments. Prior to her stay at southern highlands, my mother lived alone in a two bedroom apartment. She was isolated and was hospitalized several times through out the year. That changed when she moved to southern highlands. Over the years, the property manager Michelle Washington and support staff played an integral role in my mother’s stability. The vast upgrades to the complex which included connecting residents to an array of community resources helped my mother stay engaged with the community . She began connecting with other agencies, people and getting the support she needed to complete daily tasks with as much independence as possible. I want to thoroughly thank Michelle Washington, southern highlands and associated staff for their support. My mother is resting in peace and I’m eternally grateful to you all! I highly recommend southern highlands independent living

I toured the Southern Highlands. The management was nice and welcoming, and everything seemed to be nice, clean, and orderly. It has a stove, an oven, air conditioning, a refrigerator, and paid utilities.

Unfortunately this place is heavily infested with roaches, My first night there was terrifying as roaches seemed to have no fear as they were coming from everywhere, I had my unit treated MULTIPLE TIMES BY Dewy pest control to no avail only to have the person stating this place is overrun by roaches and BED BUGS! please don't consider living at Southern Highlands, I've had to discard all of my furnishings due to the infestation.

I’m in a senior apartment complex at Southern Highlands. It is in a nice location for me because I’m familiar with this area. The staff, so far, has been excellent. In my first month here, I took a shower, but I didn’t have a shower curtain yet, so I got the floor all wet. As soon as I stepped out, I slipped and fell, broke my hand, and cracked a couple of ribs. This was probably after midnight, and an attendant came without me even asking within two or three minutes. They have 24-hour attendants, and there's a pull string in the bathroom, which I didn’t even have a chance to pull yet. This guy just came. The facility is very senior-oriented. It is a little pricey but very nice. The building is old, but the apartments are brand new. They don’t provide food yet, but they do have a dining hall.
