My mother is a resident of Aqua Ridge of Montclair. She's been there for a little over two years and she's fairly independent. But I appreciate that there are med techs that are on staff at all times. I get her medications, she has quite a few medications because she has been a heart transplant patient for 16 years now. And so, they are good at helping and on top of her medication, getting it out to her daily. They do a lot of activities there. Bringing in entertainment as well as having the residents do activities a couple of times a day. They care about her. It's an apartment in a way, which she shares with one other person. The rooms have plenty of room for two twin-sized beds. I do wish the bathrooms were a little more set up to accommodate two persons, more drawers, and more towel racks. And I've mentioned that to the place, but otherwise, it's comfortable. Each has their own closet, and their own half of the room, and the food is excellent.

What makes Aqua Ridge of Montclair an ideal Assisted Living community is our unwavering commitment to each individual resident's needs. This comes from our emphasis on people... our associates extensive training in wellness, through our amazing chef-prepared meals, our home-style apartments and the focus we have on caring for the whole person. These all contribute to an environment that encourages each resident to maximize their independence and live life to the fullest.
Our Health and Wellness plans and an on-going assessment process assist us in providing just the right amount of care for each resident as their needs change. I went to Aqua Ridge of Montclair. That one was pretty much brand new. That was not even maybe two years old. It was beautiful, clean, and bright. The decoration was nice, bright, and airy. It was nice. The bathrooms were big. The studios were medium-sized. The ceilings were high and they had a phony wall that gave you the illusion that the room was big. The facility was clean and very nice.

We toured Aqua Ridge of Montclair. It was really clean and brand new. The room was really clean and nice, but it was really small. They were nice, but they weren't the initial person that was supposed to give us a tour, so they weren't as well informed as the initial person. We don't know what happened to the initial person. It seemed like they had different music. People come, and they have art therapy, dance therapy, and exercise. They had more of the physical stuff and things, but I didn't get to know about any, like creative things or field trips. It seems like they're still building their assisted living sites, so it was small. The dining area was really clean, but we didn't get a sample of the food. It seems like they need more staffing.

Aqua Ridge of Montclair was less than a year old, so everything looked new. They had us stay for lunch, and it was excellent. The chef even came up to us while we were eating. The person we talked to was excellent and very friendly. They were located right next to a hospital. They also provided transportation for trips and shopping and doctor's appointments. They had a movie theater, a salon, and a game room. I was impressed with this facility.

My husband is in the memory care unit at Aqua Ridge of Montclair. It's very professional and efficient. The aesthetics are lovely. They're caring staff. The room is excellent and I thought it was a very good value. They're very airy and very light. The amenities are all excellent, and they have several different activities. I'm very happy with it. I would recommend it. The food is excellent. They're all very caring, kind, and loving staff. It's brand new, so it is excellent. They're always having something. The staff tries very hard to engage everyone.

My dad is in the memory care of Aqua Ridge of Montclair. We actually toured the facility before he moved in. The staff has been really friendly. They were really accommodating to answer all the questions that we had when we were there. Because it's a newer facility, they look nice, but it looks empty. Everything's clean and well-kept. It's just that because it's a newer facility, I don't see a lot of resident interaction. It's a very nice facility though and the grounds are nice. My impression when I first walked in, was that it kind of reminded me of a nice hotel. I have not tried the food there, and my dad is on a puree diet, but the things that I've seen smelled delicious. When we toured the facility, we were in the memory care, and they were playing a game with the residents where they have a ball and swimming pool noodles, and it looked like they were having so much fun. I know they also did something for the Super Bowl, and I know they're going to be doing something for Mardi Gras, so I see that there are constant activities going on. I know that for Valentine's Day they had asked for a picture to be sent to them and framed them. They've been doing a lot of good activities.

We toured the Aqua Ridge of Montclair. It was very nice. We met the activity director. She was wonderful. My dad and mom are at different stages, but she had some really good ideas. My mom is much more active than my dad. We could have my mom do the activities, and then just kind of have my dad near her. That way she could still see him because she has anxiety when he's gone. This way she can still participate in the activities. I thought that was wonderful advice. They're very nice. They're new, but to me it reminded me of being in a hotel. This felt like a hotel. It was also brand new, so I liked that. They have food, laundry, and activities. They have a movie theater, an activities room, and a dining area. One thing that was kind of nice there about the dining is both the memory care and assisted living had separate dining rooms, but the kitchen was kind of in between. I thought it was a really good set up.
