Opened in 1981, Crane Place is a 93 unit complex for extremely low to moderate income adults ages 62 or older and persons with mobility impairments. There are 69 studio apartments and 24 one bedroom apartments. Ten are barrier free apartments for persons with mobility impairments needing the accessibility features of the unit. Crane Place is a non smoking facility. Residents of this site receive significant financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 8 program. The site is committed to this program until 2028. Applicants must meet HUD’s eligibility criteria to become residents. Crane Place has a community/recreation room, library, gift shop, and dining room. There is a laundry room equipped with coin operated machines. Limited parking is available. In order to assist residents to “age in place”, Crane Place offers the services of Social Service Coordinator who works on site on weekdays. Barcelon Associates Management Corporation manages Crane Place.
