I was at Carlton Senior Living San Leandro to visit a friend. It was very clean and very neat. There was a place downstairs where people just kind of hung out and talked. The outside was very well-maintained. Everything was nice, neat, and trimmed. She was in a studio. Considering what these places cost, I think she was getting her money's worth. She just wasn't that crazy about the food. It's just different than she was used to. Other than that, the place was fine.

This place is WORST!!! Staff tells their personal sob stories of broken relationships with family members. Bennie went on to share how poor he is and that he and his boyfriend keep breaking up. UNPROFESSIONAL! We have cameras installed and someone from their staff keeps unplugging the cameras and winding up the cord. His father keeps falling and the STAFF there keeps moving his walker across the room out of his reach despite my husband telling the staff to NOT do that, they don't listen. If you care about your family DO NOT BRING THEM HERE!!!!!!!!!! EVER> THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE

I toured Carlton Senior Living San Leandro. It was very good. The place was very small. I wasn't even thinking too much because they don't have any private rooms. My friend Orvis has to have a private room in memory care but they don't have any private rooms. Carlton San Leandro is a beautiful place. The staff was nice. Sheila was great and I met a couple of the other staff.

I went to look at Carlton Senior Living. I liked the rooms that they showed me. They had a studio and one-bedroom apartment. I like the common spaces that they have. I found the building to be not just clean, but the common spaces were open. There was a lot of light. They had a patio there. It was a large area with a walking trail, and I really like that.

My mom was at Carlton Senior Living San Leandro. The facility is beautiful. They have a restaurant on-site, so the food is very good. It's cooked daily. They have many activities, like movie nights, barbecues, and music. They have almost everything. They will take you shopping if you want to go shopping. They do arts and crafts. They have a library on site. The grounds are beautiful. They have an outdoor gazebo and a patio with an area for barbecues. It's a beautiful facility.

My father was in Carlton Senior Living San Leandro for a very short time. He needed to go to a rehab type of thing and the hospital sent us to a couple of residential care and they were awful. We talked to Carlton Senior Living and they had an area that was not in memory care, but a one-on-four, more intensive supervision and care. We thought my father would manage with dementia in that setting for maybe a month and then move him to memory care when they had room in memory care. However, he was only there for two hours. It would have been my first choice of where he would move, but I ended up having to take him home because he was just teeth-gritted, wild-eyed, and just nuts. He was using a walker and they can't contain him. They don't have room in memory care at the time, so they wouldn't be able to keep him in the building. It had a nice open environment, a nice big eating area, and a big sunny living room where people gather and do activities and things. The memory care was a large area with an outdoor area. The rooms would be either private or shared. They were nice sized with different options, but at the time that we needed to move him, they didn't have any space. The food looked great, but I didn't have the opportunity to try it. We thought they could manage my father in assisted living. It's not a locked area, but the administrators were excellent in trying to help us convince him, "You're gonna get stronger." We spent an hour and they did everything they could. They were very helpful on the phone a couple of other times. According to them, they have a lot of different activities going on there.

Carlton Senior Living San Leandro is right on the street, so the rooms tend to get a lot of street noise. I'd like to move my mom to a 1-bedroom, but the 1-bedrooms that were available in San Leandro were all facing the street. Basically her view would be of the street and her window would open up to the street view. The room that she has at the other place has redwood trees out the back. This facility was an option, but she has a little dog and needed a little more space than a studio. The way they're set up is more like an apartment-type building, where all the 1-bedroom apartments are over the lobby; the lobby is right when you walk in off the street. The tour guide was great, and the place is kept up.

I went to Carlton Senior Living San Leandro. The people that work there were really nice and seemed really capable. The facility was clean and well organized. The people living there seemed to be doing alright. It's a pleasant atmosphere. They had activities and meal services. All of that was fine. The downside for us is that we felt like there wasn't much outdoor space. It was just one building. It had a back patio, but we were looking for more grounds for walking and doing stuff outside. We were looking for trees and views with more of a pretty natural setting. It was really urban. For the most part, they were doing everything as good as they could.

My mom moved into Carlton Senior Living San Leandro. I like the place a lot. It is clean, friendly, helpful, and just a good place. Her room is clean, taken care of, and watched. It's very good. The staff are wonderful, and they have been awesome. They're really good people. Based on my experience, the food is OK. They don't have a dining area for the memory care; it's just sort of at a table, but it's fine. I'm very happy; otherwise, she would not be there. I know that they have a bingo thing. Also they take them for a ride in a van, so that's cool. It's way too much for what I'm getting, as far as what I'm paying. I know I pay for the staff, but I just think they're too expensive. For my money, when I look around, they seem to be the best. You got to pay for what you want.

My mother moved into Carlton Senior Living San Leandro. It's a very nice place aesthetically, the people are very nice, the food is good, they have a beautiful outdoor patio, and that is important for mom to be able to go outside and sit. Ultimately, I am happy with their care. The staff is very nice, communication between them is a little bit spotty, kinda hard to know who I say what to, but ultimately they're very compassionate people, they care about my mom, and that's what really counts. She is in a beautiful one-bedroom apartment with a nice view, it's quiet, and it's very nice. All through this they've been able to do indoor dining in the dining room if you want to eat your meals. Of course everybody is spread out, that's not the typical experience of eating together. They do have lots of books and games available, they have a game room, they have movies, exercise classes, bingo, that has all been going on throughout this pandemic. Of course a lot of the excursions have been cancelled, and big gatherings of the residents, so everything is socially distanced. Everybody wears masks when they're out of their rooms. They do have a beauty salon, and that has been opened throughout all this.

Carlton Senior Living has a newer building, it was a little far from me, and parking was limited. The staff member was very nice, cordial, and kind, and followed up with me. The rooms were very nice, and a little bit larger, especially the shared rooms.

Carlton Senior Living San Leandro was good and their location was great. one of the things I didnt like there is I have a power chair and they allow power chairs, but they don't like them. I didn't want to be restricted from using my power chair. The staff was very helpful and very good though. I had an excellent lunch there.

I'm going to put my mom into Carlton Senior Living San Leandro next month. The rooms were nice. They showed me a small studio and a large studio. They're far bigger than the other places I visited, especially for the price. Everything was nice. They have a whole program that is just right for my mother compared to other places. They have games, Bingo, concerts, and programs. They serve three meals a day. They have an area where the residents can come and have snacks. They will transport my mom to her appointments. They also have a beauty salon. It was very nice. They have a lot of good things right there. The staff was very informative, very professional, and very consistent. I loved how they treated me versus everywhere else.

We waited half an hour at Carlton for the representative to come, and I was about ready to walk out the door when she showed up. We had an appointment, and they were half an hour late, but it wasn’t the gal we had an appointment with; it was somebody else. They were working on the entrance. I came from an insurance background, and they had no safety cones up. It was unsafe, and I did not like the rooms. They had this big and strange open space between the bedroom and the living room, and they were very narrow rooms that if you put a couch in there, I don’t know if you could put anything else hardly across the table except a TV hanging on the wall. The room seemed almost like a bowling alley. There were no balconies, and the people were not very friendly. They need to improve on keeping their appointments, which would be nice. Safety for the residents or safety for anybody walking through the front door would be another thing, and then cleanliness is another thing. The rooms certainly were not inviting, and I have never seen a living room that had a big window. There was no balcony, and you were paying for whatever kind of view you had. If you have a view of the street or if you have a view of the parking lot, that was for a fee.

When you first walked in to Carlton Senior Living San Leandro, it had a resort-y feel to it. This place was much larger and busier. They have lots of activities going on and lots of people moving around. The rooms were reasonable, but to me, it felt like a hotel room. The dining area looked interesting. They have a little area on the side where you can get coffee and ice cream. It was set up like a coffee bar and very nice. They have a nice sitting area in the front.

Carlton Senior Living San Leandro has excellent variety and very well prepared good food. There is a very good cook in that place. I think the expense is well worth it because of the service, the food, and the care. Mom is in a shared room in the memory care, but it's OK. It was a bit small, but it has large windows and lots of space to put things up to make it feel like home. The place has beautiful furniture and a good layout. It is open enough for them to feel that they're not trapped. It has all kinds of different spaces for different things. It is very nice, and I like it. There's no problem that they don't talk over with me. They're very hands-on, and the staff is very loving.

Carlton Senior Living San Leandro seemed nice, but it was just located on a busy street. The staff was nice, and the rooms were nice, but I needed more space. They have a lot of activities. The people were friendly, and the place was well kept. It looked like they have more activities for people who are independent.

My mom has been at Carlton Senior Living San Leandro for two months. During my brief time with them, they were very attentive to my mother. They always call me if they have a question and let me know when she needs personal things that I usually bring there. They are only five minutes away from my house. She doesn’t swallow as well with the medicine, so they asked me first, then called the doctor and got an order from him to smash up the medicine. They are doing what they’re supposed to do very well and she likes it there. She has a roommate in the memory care section, so they’re always with her. The food is delicious. They have their own patio on their side. They bring them over daily to the assisted living side when they have activities there, like music or someone coming in to play the piano or entertainment. Every Wednesday, the memory care section goes out in a van for a scenic tour. They keep them busy with arts and crafts and different things. I’m going to my first event there called the Candlelight Black and White Dinner that they do that in the memory section every three months.

Carlton Senior Living San Leandro is a nice place, centrally located, and seems like a good fit. We've seen some of the studio rooms and some of them were kind of small. They have one-bedrooms also, but I don't think there were many of them. They were accommodating and provide three meals a day. You could go down any time to get something to eat if you want to. They have activities, movies, and things like that. It is a pretty nice environment.

My mom was in Carlton Plaza, and it was a nightmare. She was in the memory care ward. I was under the impression that they could handle her under the expertise of memory care/dementia, but it didn’t happen.

I did a tour Carlton Plaza of San Leandro, and it was beautiful. The place is very clean and well kept. The people who are staying there were very clean and they looked like they are having a really nice time. The staff knew everybody's name and everybody looked extremely comfortable. There were a lot of amenities for the residents. There is a little café for them that they can get snack at any time. They also have a beautiful central room where they could all watch TV or talk or read books. I was also thinking I would love to live there myself. I looked at 2-bedroom space that was empty at the time. It has air conditioning and it was very light and airy. It has windows that you could open. Their halls were extremely wide so that people can get by with their walkers or wheelchairs if they need to. I saw the dining room and it looked like a restaurant. It's really clean with beautiful tables and chairs.

Carlton Plaza of San Leandro was absolutely lovely. It was everything my father would have loved. It was a lovely setting, and he absolutely adored it. They had a wonderful restaurant. The people were gracious. When you walked in, they all greeted you as if you were family. They reminded me of a five-star hotel, but with a family twist. The dining area had also like a little cafe where you could all daylong have popcorn, cookies, fruits, coffee, cocoa, and all that. They had tons of activities. I would say they had 20 boards of activities that everybody could do on a daily basis. They had a lovely garden area. Oh my God, the garden area was so pretty! It not only had places to lay out, but if you wanted to sit on a lounger, you could sit and chat. It had a little area for golf. The rooms were beautiful. They were well appointed and wonderful rooms. They were very well set up, and the way it was set up, everybody looked down on the garden area. They also had a bubbly dining area if you wanted to have a private party, and it had a separate kitchen. They had two areas to watch, whether it was TV or movies, and my father loved the food.

I went to Carlton Plaza of San Leandro, and I didn’t like it that much. I didn’t like the fact that they charge to park. They didn’t have many facilities with regards to room set up. They also did not encourage too many pets. I walked in when they were having an entertainer and that was nice, and fun too. They have dance class, exercise class, and you can also play games with the residents. The person who toured me was about 20 minutes late, but she took me on a tour and answered my questions.

Carlton Plaza is very nice. It has two different areas for people who need 24 hour care and some people who can take care of themselves but live there. The staff was nice there, and the dining room area was very nice. I very impressed with it; it looked like a restaurant. They have a great menu, and you can even have dinner with your loved ones. They show movies, they have their own popcorn machine and singing, and there’s just so many things you can do there. Security is great. The rooms were adequate, and they had different size rooms for two people or smaller rooms for single persons. My friend there stayed for a month.

Carlton Plaza of San Leandro is very close to my job. I didn't taste the food, but I did get a tour. Their rooms are awesome. It is bigger, nice, and clean. The facility is great, but they didn't have Spanish speaking staff. They were friendly and very accommodating. They got back to me right away. They were awesome. They did have a lot of activities as well. The dining room is very nice and clean. The facility is very spacious, and it is very big.

This assisted living facility is in a large and quite fancy building, near the downtown area"”and easy for visitors to get to, although not a super beautiful location. The food is good, but unremarkable. Nice atmosphere that feels welcoming because of the friendliness of the staff and attention given to the decor. The staff is well trained and friendly, and all of them seem to provide good care that is in tune with the residents' needs. They seem to be on top of things"”to know what to look for and how to interact with residents and assess their needs. There is also a social services staffer on hand for those who need that kind of care and attention. I would recommend it to those looking in that area because the residents are treated with dignity and seem to be genuinely cared about.
