My mom moved into Monte Vista Village. She has her own studio, she has water aerobics, art classes, they take them out on outings, and their dining hall is very pretty, very nice. Everyone there seems to be very nice. She gets to keep her dog. Her room is really nice, perfect, clean, and pretty. The staff is really nice and pleasant to be around. She said the food is gourmet and well balanced.

Monte Vista Village was a little bit different. They have cottages rather than a confined building. It was made up like Hawaii like there are patios and trees everywhere. It's a beautiful setting. The cottages are nice. They have bigger rooms. It is a very nice place. I enjoyed it. It needed some maintenance in some areas, but some areas were getting upgraded. The cafeteria was getting upgraded. And the lady was extremely nice and very friendly. The outside was pretty nice. The people were working there, and they were maintaining the whole time.

Monte Vista Village was very, very nice. I was very happy with the tour. I loved everything. I love the studio the staff showed me, but I think I'm more interested in a one-bedroom. The closets are big. I did meet a few residents, and they were very friendly. I see that they're upgrading, and that's what I'm looking forward to. I'm very sociable. I love talking to people and meeting new people, so I think that's going to probably be the place for me. I like the Monte Vista. The staff was very nice. She showed everything. She answered all my questions and she was very, very knowledgeable of the place. The receptionist was very nice, happy, and smiled. She introduced herself and then kind of ran down everything in a quick manner. I liked the outside of the facility, the gardens, everything. I liked that it's all on one floor, so it's easy to access.

I toured Monte Vista Village. The girl was very nice and very informative. She was very polite. The room has a lot of closet space, which is number one with me. It seemed like there was a lot of room in the room. It seems to be an older unit. They're under construction on their dining room, and there's going to be a social room and pool room, all in one. It had a little patio area, and it's close, the unit is close to pretty much everything.

I toured Monte Vista Village Senior Living. The person that I spoke with spent time with me. She was not rushing me. They have a nice little facility there, and she showed me some of the apartments. I think they have a studio, one bedroom, and they only have, like 1 or 2, two bedrooms, and they're in the process of upgrading some of those as people move out. I had no complaints about her at all, or the facility. It is just laid out in a nice little circle. We have a little courtyard area. I have nothing negative to say about the facility. The parts that I saw, it was very clean and very nice. We went through the activity room, and there were all kinds of tables, chairs, puzzles, and cards. There were things to do, but nobody was in there at that point.

We toured Monte Vista Village. We enjoyed it a lot. They were nice. It was a small community, and it was affordable. They have a nice dining hall, a very nice auditorium, a gift shop, and a hair place. It's good. It's a nice place. It looked fine on the outside. It looked nice. The staff who toured us, Jackie, was great. She was nice. I liked her a lot. However, it looks old, and it needs work. The landscaping was a little unkempt, but it could be just because it was winter and it was raining.

Monte Vista Village was really good. It was one story, so it was nice for elderly people. I only saw a studio room because they didn't have any one or two bedrooms available. The studio room was fairly small in size. The garden was very nice. There was a lot of green. But because everything was one story, the distances from one place to another seemed to be longer. For people who have problems walking, it might be a little bit longer. Although I did see a lot of people in wheelchairs, other people who can still walk cannot walk very far. The facility was fairly nice. The person who gave me the tour was very friendly. They didn't have a swimming pool. It seemed like they were doing some remodeling when I was there. They had a library and an area for activities.

Monte Vista Village looked like a garden setting. It was bright and open. The units were kind of like duplexes, sort of freestanding apartments, with a little patio. People could go outside freely. I liked that, but it wasn't secure like anyone could walk on the property. I saw the dining room, but no meals were being served when I visited. I liked the pool area. The dining area was nice, but it was pretty standard. The kitchen was closed when I visited. I didn't like that because my mom doesn't eat on a normal schedule. The staff was nice and friendly.

My brother has moved into Monte Vista Village. It's excellent. Our mom was here several years ago, so I'm very happy with it. The food is very good, very balanced, and there are lots. They have good activities and plenty to do if he's able. His apartment is nice and clean. I had him in an independent home, and it's nicer than that. The outdoors is pleasant. There's a pond, there's goldfish, and there's shade.

I toured Monte Vista Village. The rooms seemed a little bit more modern than the rooms at other places I visited. Their rooms and their small kitchens seemed like something I could live with. The food seemed good. They have a gift shop, some activity rooms, and a dining room. The wooded nature of the grounds is what appealed to me. And the staff was very helpful. I only dealt with two people, the marketing person that gave the tour, and the person at the front desk, and they seemed fine. The programs they offer their residents are bingo, cards, and some exercise programs. I like Monte Vista Village better than the other places I have toured.

Mom moved into Monte Vista Village last year. The grounds are really pretty. It's like Hawaii almost with palm trees and greenery. There's a good amount of activity. The food is good, and the staff is helpful. It's an independent living. She's in a small studio, but it's spacious. It has a good walk-in closet that accommodates at least two dressers, and a stand-up shower with a bench seat. It has a little kitchen app if she wants to cook, but three meals a day are provided in the rent. And it's got a big, spacious, bay window to look out onto the grounds. And really what impressed me a lot too are the maintenance people. If she has a problem, they come quickly and fix it right away. They have exercise classes. They take them once a week on a scenic tour if they'd like to take that. She hasn't partaken in the grocery store, but they'll take them to the grocery store. They have happy hour, I believe, twice a week. They have a few different groups, The Sunshine Ladies. They have a monthly calendar they put out, then they also will go and put up other things weekly on the bulletin board that they add. They have Bible studies on Friday, and they also will take them to church on Sunday. There is an exercise room where they do their exercise classes and it's an auditorium which I've not seen, but I've heard they do movie nights also once a week. They also have a little store that's open a few days a week for the residents to go and purchase things from.

I toured Monte Vista Village. The staff was very knowledgeable and very nice. The room was very nice. It was a one-bedroom apartment. The dining room was very nice. It was outside, you didn't feel like you were in a hospital. The residents were doing some arts and crafts stuff. They have a swimming pool and a small store that's run by the residents. I think they had gym equipment.

I liked the way the rooms were set up at Monte Vista Village. They were a single story and it's surrounded by grassy areas. It's closer to being at home than being in the hospital. The staff was very good. They showed me whatever I wanted to see, and gave me whatever information I asked for. The rooms were much larger and set up much better than I thought they were going to be. Their dining area was very pleasant. They had groups of people around tables doing stuff. It shows that people participate in activities. They have in-house physical therapy, too.

I pretty much like everything here at Monte Vista Village. It is a perfect fit for me. I love the grounds. This facility is designed after a village in Hawaii, so we have lots of trees and beautiful exotic flowers. It's a really beautiful setting. It's like living in a park. The staff is fabulous. They're very caring, polite, and very helpful. With my package, I have a housekeeper that comes and she's just fantastic. I have no complaints about this facility. They have an inside staff that can help you with your bathing and there's a charge for that. They can do your laundry for a very small charge. I think that I just landed in the best place for me. The food, of course, does not have a lot of seasoning but you can bring your own seasoning. But generally, it's very edible and I don't have any complaints about it. We get a salad and a dessert. We have six different choices of what we want to eat, and all kinds of different juices to choose from. They have bingo, movie nights, entertainment once a week, a cocktail hour in the afternoon, puzzles, bridge, and a bus or van that leaves for shopping. My apartment is absolutely beautiful. I have new flooring and a new kitchenette. The bathroom and everything else had been redone before I got here. I have air conditioning, a fan, and a heater in front of the apartment and the back. I have everything I need. I think I get more than what I pay, it is that great. There's just everything available to take advantage of. The staff that I have gotten to know have been here for 20 to 25 years, and they love working here.

I love the outdoor space that Monte Vista Village has. It's very open. The staff is really nice. The apartments are pretty quaint. They are relatively spacious and updated with ample lighting. It's definitely a clean living space with a large closet. Every room we saw has a kitchenette, so that was nice, too. They have a cafeteria line style, but they have a banquet eating as well. They have a little library area, a swimming pool, a putting green, a gym area, and a little store on the property where you can buy little miscellaneous items. We also really liked that the price was just in line with our budget.

I went to Monte Vista Village. The community itself is very old. On the right side, it is all one level, and the sidewalks are very navigable. Some of the apartments have applicant steps or thresholds to get into them, as well as some significant thresholds to get in and out of the shower. The shower facilities and the bathrooms in the rooms were tad on the small side, which might make them difficult to navigate. Overall, the room sizes were pretty large for the price, but the facilities were older. I only saw two rooms, but the two rooms that I saw had a very musty smell, which in theory could be taken care of. They probably need to remove the carpet and things like that. They have a lift chair to get in and out of the pool, which is something I did not see at the other place. If I had no other choice, if it was between the other place versus Monte Vista, I'd probably choose Monte Vista for my mom, assuming we could do something to deal with the smell. The person who gave the tour was very sweet. I did see her interact with at least one other resident, and it was a good interaction. The dining area was set up buffet style. They go through a line to pick up a tray, and they get the food. I expressed a concern that my mom wouldn't be able to deal with the tray. They said, "We have people who can serve her." It seemed fine, but I didn't see any food, and I didn't see people eating. Things are still a little bit shut down because of COVID. They are in the process of doing some renovations. They've got a lot of space. Landscaping was good. I saw a schedule of activities and it seems like they have a good selection, but I did not observe any.

I am a resident of Monte Vista Village, and I am proud to share with you my observations of this outstanding living facility that provides caring services for seniors of all walks of life. Monte Vista has an outstanding professional staff from the Executive Director to the gardener. The facility and landscape are impeccable. Every employee is polite, caring and ready to serve our needs. The food is beyond excellent cuisine and served with a smile. Every day residents have a variety of activities to choose from ranging from exercise, technology training to Bible Study and they have live musical entertainment weekly. There is much more offered. And a MVV bus is available for medical appointments or shopping on a weekly schedule. No wonder MVV residents are so happy in their special community. Start spreading the word: Monte Vista Village welcomes seniors and their family members who need services they provide.

I didn't like Monte Vista Village, it wasn't a pleasant place. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't serene for a person to walk around because of the area in which it's located. My mom wouldn't be able to leave the complex because it's on a busy street, it's hilly, and there are a lot of stairs. The apartments or rooms were ok. There weren't a lot of activities and people didn't seem happy. I only saw one staff person and she was nice and she told me about the services. When we saw the cafeteria, it wasn't open, the salon wasn't open, nothing was open and nobody was around. The people look sad, and that was the only interaction I had with anyone that lived or worked there. My suggestion for them is that if you have a tour, have some activities, have people milling around like people live there. Have a schedule around the time. It was breakfast at that time, and nobody was there so I don't know how they were eating breakfast. There was this great room where they were probably doing an activity with a ball but we didn't see the physical therapy room. Other facilities would show you physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy and I was introduced to the onsite therapists. The facility only had a CNA or a nurse assistant that was in charge of the medical on-site. That is terrible. They're off of a busy street, and you're sending your person there and there's nothing around it. they were under construction in some areas, and those areas shouldn't have been shown. It just wasn't pleasant, if it was color, it would be gray.

I went to see Monte Vista Village out in Lemon Grove. I toured their independent living because that's what I was looking for. It's really good, pretty open, with good places to walk and everything. They have quite a few activities too. They have a nice dinner facility because they serve meals. They also have a swimming pool, and I think they're getting a gym together. They also do aerobics and stuff like that with the seniors. The staff was good. They're knowledgeable and they help you out to get as much information as you need.

I toured Monte Vista Village. The staff was excellent and very attentive. A few of the residents I saw seemed very happy. The grounds are very well kept-up. They have a schedule of maintenance, so the grounds look very neat and tidy. It was a very serene feeling out there in the courtyard area. They have a representation of tropical plants and so forth, so it's very nice. Meals are included. They have a large dining area. They have two dining areas: One which is more self-serve, and another one which is more of a formal restaurant-style, so the residents have a choice. They have a pool, they have like a general store for small amenities, they have a hair salon, and they have a nurse station there. They're also a continuum care facility.

I don't recall the lady's name but the person who showed me around Monte Vista Village in Lemon Grove was very courteous and easy to talk to. We walked around the place and it looked nice. It had some availability and as soon as my aunt is ready, we will consider it. We were looking at the independent living unit. We walked through their dining area and it was nice, comfortable, and warm. The facility was nicely decorated and the grounds were meticulous. Overall, I think they look nice. I saw a pool, a big room that had games, and a movie area. They also do local excursions.

We went to Monte Vista Village. It was nice. My friend actually preferred that one because he didn't have to take the elevator, and all the homes are on the ground level. He liked that instead of an elevator, but it wasn't as resort feeling and as posh as the other place. The people were nice. We didn't try the food. It felt more like you're in a living center. The outside was nice. They had a little pond. The staff was fine. She did a good job explaining it. We saw two studios. They were smaller and not as nice as the other one, but still adequate. It was a little bit dated. They had a small outdoor pool, a little gift shop, and an exercise room, but we did not see it. We walked through the dining area. There were a lot of people eating there, so the food must be good. We did not eat there.

Monte Vista Village was nice. It's an older property, but it has nice outdoors with some nice water features, which I thought was interesting. Their common area was actually nice, too. They had a buffet setup where you just go off and get your food and then go sit down, lots of spaces for events or for doing activities, a little convenience store onsite, and a beauty salon. So, they seemed to be well laid out. The staff and the rooms were very nice. The ones I looked at were ground level units, so you had a little patio or something. It seemed like a nice and more comfortable area. The location was not bad. Shopping is not too far away.

You can tell Monte Vista Village has been around for quite some time and so just the overall feel of it was somewhat dated, but it was fairly nice. There are different types of layouts instead of everything being in one building. There are several buildings throughout the complex, all of them pretty much one floor, so all of the rooms had their front door that leads to the outside open air as opposed to being an interior design. The room had a large walk-in closet and a small sink with a mini-fridge. The rooms are all on one floor, so they open out into the central courtyard and common areas or the walkways. The staff during the tour was friendly and answered all our questions.

I'm in the independent living of Monte Vista Village. The director of the facility is horrendous but the staff is wonderful. They have meals and on the weekends the dining room is closed so you just have to pick up your food and take it home back to your apartment. They cut the staff down and the place was recently sold last year or, maybe, this year. They're not taking care of the residents like they used to. Overall, the food is not good. For dinner, quite often, your choices are sandwiches. It's either like an egg salad sandwich or a ham sandwich or something. Last night it was mac and cheese and ham, and there was an egg salad sandwich. To me, that is not ideal. I wouldn't want to go somewhere and that's your choice for dinner. The grounds are not being kept up as they should and they only have gardeners twice a week now. They cut that back too and the grounds have suffered some. The housekeeping staff is reduced from 5 people to 2. I think they just fired somebody. We had 3 but one of those is the head of housekeeping. She cleans now and that shouldn't be her job. Her job was to make sure that everything's getting done properly. If she's cleaning the apartments, who is making sure that things are getting done? So, that's a negative for me and they should have more staff. For the kitchen and dining room staff, they didn't fire anybody but they reduced their hours to the point where they couldn't work. If you're only getting 20 hours a week, you have to go and find a job that pays more hours so a lot of people left and that wasn't good. Now they're finding out that they can't function with that reduced staff so the new owners are not doing what they should do. For activities, they do scenic drives, they take us out shopping and things like that. They also do bingo and they have happy hours.

Having gone through the process of finding residential care for my mother who had dementia, I was aware of what I wanted in a senior living facility of my own. I have been here only four weeks, but love it. I am very independent and can choose if I want meals or not, the staff is exceptional, and my apartment is spacious. I have already begun recommending Monte Vista to friends.

I'm in the independent living section at Monte Vista Village and it's going very well. The staff is very friendly and very nice. For breakfast, they have eggs, poached eggs or scrambled eggs, bacon or waffles, French toast or pancakes, ham and soup, Mexican dishes, and fresh fruit. It's very good. They have a tai-chi school, a happy hour, and a root beer float night, which is very good. They take you on a tour of San Diego, and they have cards. They're very nice by taking me to a volunteer job on Friday. They're very accommodating. My room is very nice sized, and it's got a roomy shower and bathroom. I've got a microwave and a stovetop. It's really good. The nurses and the directors are very friendly and the activities guys also are friendly. I am happy with everything. It's a pleasant place to live.

Monte Vista Village is a very nice place. They were in transition when we took our tour, meaning their ownership had just changed. They had no brochures to hand out because they hadn't printed out new ones. They wouldn't give us the old ones. It's a nice place. They have both assisted living and independent, and they're all in basically the same apartment. We toured both. They're really good. They have nice facilities. The shared area between the bungalows is well maintained. It's open and airy, but it is also shaded. It's nice and cool in the summer or on the warmer days. The staff members that we met were very good. We talked to almost the whole staff. They were all very friendly and knowledgeable. They're a very well-maintained facility. It's an older facility.

I am a resident of Monte Vista Village. I'm with my mother who has Alzheimer's and I'm her caregiver, so we have the two-bedroom. If there's ever a problem, I feel real safe here knowing that they can take care of us. So far, so good. I really, really love it. I've been doing all my landscaping outside and everybody's enjoying it. The staff is very helpful and they've been good to me. I've not had any problem whatsoever with them. The floor plan is wonderful. It's really, really nice. We have the biggest one here, and it's the only one that's a two-bedroom and I absolutely love it. I have two chihuahuas. The food is very, very good. I'm allergic to certain things, so I really appreciate them putting a weekly menu out. Any kind of peppers, I get very, very ill, so if it's on the menu, I'll just cook in the apartment and fix something. It's only happened a couple of times, so no problem. We all have to wear masks and some forget. If you come in without a mask on like in the dining area, they will provide one for you to put on. They're very, very strict on that. I'm kind of trapped in here with my mother because I can't leave her for five minutes. I have to have a babysitter, so I get one of the residents that's not quite demented. This one woman that I get over here is very nice. It's no more than two hours every Tuesdays and Thursdays. Those two hours make all the difference in the world to me because I get claustrophobic being in here seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Just getting out for a couple of hours a week really helps. With mom's insurance, she's on a hospice situation where they allow a babysitter to come in and take care of her on one of those days, so I can stay out as long as I want on that day. I get back before lunchtime. It shouldn't take more than two hours. They give us an hour and a half for the lunch, so I'm not concerned about my mother missing it. We all look out for each other here. I've made a lot of good friends. These people here are so sweet. There are only two gentlemen that I have gotten into a little bit of a disagreement with, but everybody feels the same way. They're kind of timid, but they're sweet people. I love everyone in here except for those two. I have no problem. I've put about $4000 or $5000 worth of gardening into my area. I have two patios in the back and I've gotten little birds. I'm in a cool place where I get a real cool breeze, wind chimes and everything. Everybody comes up and it's talk of the table here. I'm hoping to stay here, but it depends on my mother. I cannot afford it by myself, but with her Social Security check and mine and my dad's pension and everything, we're able to afford this this one because it's the most expensive one here. If worse comes to worst, I can always go down to a studio. The studios are very big and the one-bedrooms are big and they're nice. I've had plumbing problems and a fan problem. My mother's fan and light in the ceiling has not worked since the day we've moved in here. They say they got all the parts and they've just been busy and I understand that, but I'd like to get that taken care of because she's really uncomfortable in there, especially in the heat. She's in the back of the house like where I am, but I have an air-conditioner in my room, so I'm not uncomfortable at all, but she is. I've had plumbing problems with my toilet overflowing twice now since I've been here, but it's because of all the roots that are in the trees because this is an old property. They've had to call in a private plumber a couple of times now and get in there and really root it out. I assure them that I'm not putting anything in the toilet that's not supposed to be there. My mother's flush is really good. There's no problem in her bathroom, but I've got the smaller toilet and it doesn't flush as easy. That's the only problem whatsoever that I've had, but they take care of it immediately. The staff is good, except for one lady at the front desk in the lobby. I get along with her OK. She's gotten a little nippy with me a couple of times, but I just kind of let it roll off my shoulder. She's just very strong willed and she speaks her mind. If you piss her off, she's going to tell you, but she's been OK with me. I know she's got a tough job. I think she's the main head of the receptionists out there. I can understand, so I try to be as patient as I can be with her. Everybody else, I have no problem. The manager is a wonderful lady. I'm very happy. I want to put in a good word for the maintenance assistant. The main guy was in Texas for a couple of weeks and he stepped right up. He came in and did work for me. He's just been wonderful and he's got the best attitude. He greets everybody in the morning. He's always got a smile on his face and he says good morning to everybody and how are you doing. He even helped out with the plumbing the other day. The head cleaning lady did a wonderful job. She's very thorough. Everything has been really good for me. I think the food is delicious. My hat off to the chef there. I think he's doing a wonderful job, but they seem understaffed. They have like two people running back and forth. When you first come in, you get your food or salad, then you go to the main menu and then you get your drinks and your desserts and soup. There seems to be not enough people like there are only two handling all those sections. They had another lady that they just hired, and she seems really nice. She's trying to get used to everything. They're doing good. They also have what is called a sit-down dining room. Ever since I've been in here, I haven't been able to do that. If I can get my mother to go down there and sit and order off a menu, that would be really nice. However, she will not leave the apartment and she just cannot stand in the line. If they could get that open again, we would all be very happy. I go down to pick her food and I have to bring it back to the apartment. I have to make sure I get down there early enough to be around the first in the line, so I can get back to the apartment real fast. Otherwise, there's a long line and you got to wait and I'm worrying about her and whether she's tripping or going out the back door. I just can't get her to go out. If we could get that dining room open where you can order off a menu, I could sit there with her, make sure she sits still and doesn't wander off. I would recommend it to everybody. Jackie was so accommodating. I gave her $300 to hold the apartment because she could've rented it out to anybody because it's the only two-bedroom apartment in this whole place. I was honest with her. She was honest with me. I moved in exactly the day that I said I was going to and that really meant a lot to her. It all worked out really well. I'm very happy. I've met some wonderful neighbors. We've been very helpful to each other. I had one came over and babysat for me one day and there's another one that just moved in and I've become very good friends with her. This last Sunday, another one on my other side just moved in. I hope she doesn't get upset that I've landscaped her area in front. Everybody loves it. The only other problem that I can see is a lot of guests that come over are not wearing masks. That kind of irritates me because we have to have them on. If we don't have them on, they're going to be issued to us and warn us. I always wear mine. There are people who walk through the cafeteria and come in one door, but they still should have a mask on. In fact, they didn't even check in. They're supposed to check in at the front desk and get a sticker because they have to monitor them, give them a check on their forehead to see if they have a fever. They're just happy go lucky and they're bringing flowers in with no mask. I didn't say anything to them because that's not my business. I don't know what the situation is there. I know they did not go to the office because they came from a different area, but the office should be aware of that.

I just moved here in Monte Vista Village three weeks ago. I find it delightful. It's a beautiful physical place with 50-year-old trees and flowers and the gardening is just extraordinarily beautiful. The home I'm living in is enormous to me. I have a very nice, big living room, my own kitchenette area, a complete bathroom, and a very nice large bedroom with sliding glass windows to the other side and more beautiful trees and gardening. I've already recommended it to other people, and I've only been here three weeks. They have an outdoor pool and that's really a hot item. They have a gymnasium. There's a beautiful dining room where we go three times a day. There's a beautiful living area in the dining room with a fireplace and a place for musicians who come in once a week and entertain us. We've got a nice library. There is a large building, and it serves a hundred people who go do exercises there and they even have weddings there now and then. It's so nice. The food is extraordinary, and there are always options. There's not one main meal, there's always options to choose from. There are multiple things to choose from to do. There are people that organize card games. A different group comes every Wednesday at 2:30 and puts on live music for us while we enjoy having a soda or even a beer, and it's just lots of fun. I'm glad I found this place. A friend recommended it to me and brought me over. I had gone to about four other places that were very nice and very upscale, but this one was so charming that I didn't even hesitate.

I visited Monte Vista Village for a friend, and it is absolutely perfect. The staff were helpful, kind, and just great to work with and to talk to. I saw a studio apartment. It would work so well for him because it's better than what he's living in now. He would get meals. He would get his laundry done and light housekeeping. They have Koi ponds and a great big grassy courtyard. It was very beautiful.

My mother moved into Monte Vista Village. It is wonderful. 'Cause Lemon Grove is an older area, from the outside it may not look like it's in the best area, but inside the property, the grounds are just beautiful. They've got their koi pond, they've got flowers everywhere, it's really nice walking, like a whole little area that they can walk in, and it's very inviting. In spite of the pandemic, I do know that they have bingo going on right now, they also have happy hours. Right now it's a mobile happy hour where they go to each resident's place, and I think the assisted living offers that as well. I know they also offer arts and crafts, they just recently opened their main dining hall, it's great, they have on one side a buffet, and one side a sit-down, the area itself is really nice, it's kept really clean. I know they have a topnotch chef there who came from another hotel property I think, and my mom never seems to complain about the food, she always seem to think it's pretty good. Even during COVID they had them ordering off menus, and everything was usually pretty good.

Monte Vista Village didn't have the services that we needed for my mother-in-law. It wasn't a bad place, it was fine, but we didn't feel like it was going to work. The staff members were OK. What they had at the time was a shared room, which was fine because my mother-in-law has a fear of being alone, so it would actually be better for her to share a room.

It had nice grounds and landscaping. The rooms were a little larger than average. All rooms had a garden view, too. The staff was very friendly, welcoming, inviting, and professional. They had a fireplace, a library, a pharmacy, a walking path, and a putting green.

Our experience at Monte Vista Village is very positive. The personnel are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are flat, which makes it easy for me. The rooms are very nice and comfortably designed. There is a lot of storage space for such a small area. They have an assisted living area, too. They have a barbershop, a pharmacy, and a nice restaurant area. I find Monte Vista Village to be a very nice place.

SMy mother is 95. She has lived at Monte Vista Village for 3 1/2 years. She moved to independent living there after coming to San Diego from Florida when she could no longer live on her own. Her lodging was a spacious one bedroom apartment, certainly larger than one bedroom apartments I’ve lived in. It was completely refurbished before she moved in with new kitchen, new bathroom and new carpeting. She thrived there, learning new activities like wii bowling and she always enjoyed the Wednesday afternoon happy hour which had a different musical program every week. About a year ago she had a medical crisis which required her to move to Monte Vista’s Assisted Living building. We were immediately helped by the Monte Vista nursing staff and they problem solved with us, providing a place for her in assisted living as soon as it was needed. Her new studio apartment in Heritage House, her assisted living building, has the same large bedroom, large closets and bathroom as her one bedroom...except now her door opens onto the communal living room where she now spends most of her days. Without exception we have found the Monte Vista staff to be kind, caring and conscientious. My communication with the Heritage House staff has been extremely helpful. They call me when they see a problem and they are immediately available when I’ve called them for assistance. I highly recommend Monte Vista Village for any seniors looking for either an independent or assisted living residence. Linda M S, daughter of 3 1/2 yr Monte Vista resident

Monte Vista Village is very homey. My mom is not moving right away, but it's the community that we have decided on. The staff is very friendly, and it looks like they have a lot of staff working. The dining setup is very nice.

My mother-in-law was in very bad shape and in ill health after trying to live on her own. So much to a point that we thought she may need constant bed care. After a week in this place (the assisted living part) she was a new person. She has been there a month now and is going to exercise classes in her wheel chair, telling us about the happy hours, eating great and loving life again. The staff is awesome about helping her and getting her to events and activities. She is even walking again with her walker which is amazing after so short a time. The food they serve is NOT old folks home bland stuff. The salads are full of spring greens and spinach leaves and they are served with shoe wheat bread. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. It's definitely not a chore to visit as it was when my grandparents were in assisted living. Nothing gloomy about this place! If you are considering a change for yourself or a loved one I truly recommend it.

I recently lived at Monte Village for several months to escape the Eastern cold and to visit a friend. I did so with some trepidation , not knowing what to expect. What I found was a pleasant surprise. It was a lovely facility with beautiful grounds, friendly residents and good food. The staff was superior in every aspect and provided the highest quality of service. There was an ample amount of special activities. Some for fun and some geared toward health and well-being. The atmosphere was home-like and friendly. What I observed of cleanliness, security and care seemed top rate. The permanent residents semed happy and satisfied . There could be no better recommendation than that.

My uncle has spent 3 1/2 months here in independent living, but with some assistance bathing. The best part of this place is not the attractive facility (reminds of a tropical resort), or the food (which is pretty good; I've eaten there quite a few times), but the friendly, helpful, and caring staff. Where do they find these people? They're terrific. Not everything has gone perfectly, but that would be a miracle. The transition to a new routine and the differences in all sorts of small things took awhile for my uncle to learn and there were a few small problems. But they let him keep his cat and that helped him accept the move. I have felt so much better since getting him there, and he says he likes it, "it's a good place" as he puts it. I think it is too.
