My aunt is at Park Regency Care Center. This is her second rehabilitation, and compared to the other place, the room is smaller. They don't have a cabinet for their stuff, which is why my aunt is confused where her clothes are. She got there Monday afternoon, but they don't have rails, and she is not stable with her balance. They put the rails up the next day. And because she already has dementia, they keep letting her call us until 10:30 in the evening. I know it's hard, but they cannot control her. That's why we talked to the staff and the nurse. Sometimes in a day she would call six or eight times. She is in a shared room. The first time my aunt had physical therapy, the physical therapist told me that she's doing OK. She's ambulatory, it is just the memory. She is really getting forgetful, and her dementia is getting worse. I saw their calendar of activities and it is full. The problem is my aunt. She doesn't like to participate, especially if it's in a new place. That's why we encourage her to socialize. But even when we encourage her, she is already forgetful.

She’s in Park Regency Retirement Home. It’s very good. The difficulty with them right now in my mother’s current condition is that she’s isolated in a room at the end of the hallway. She had difficulty trying to pull the cord for nurses’ help. She doesn’t have anyone to talk to throughout the day other than the occasional visit from a caregiver and the normal rounds. But for the most part, she’s satisfied. To improve, they can provide more staff to spend more time with bed-bound patients.
