I have chosen Five Points Seniors Apartments. I like it a lot better because I can be really, truly independent here, as contrasted to the ones that I was looking at up in Oregon, where they talk about independent living but in reality, it's more like assisted living to me. The appearance of it is fine. I've got more room for less money, and it's well kept up. The staff are minimal here because it's independent. They have the same amenities that I had up in Oregon at half the price. They have all the social activities. They don't serve any food here, I make my own, and that's what I like about it.

My mother lived at Five Points Seniors Apartments. The facility is just average. They have a kitchenette and lots of storage. The staff is average. They have activity rooms and a library. They don't have any outdoor areas. There is no guest parking, and handicapped parking is minimal. Even renting a parking space is unavailable, so parking is an issue.

I went to Five Points Seniors Apartments. I just didn't like it at all, I thought it was depressing. It hadn't been painted recently, the apartments were fine, but I just didn't like the management. The person who accommodated me was not very friendly. They have a very nice club room. They need a fresh set of paint, and remodel a little bit, it seems old and dingy.

Having just moved in a month ago here are my initial impressions and experiences. Having visited several other complexes I was pleased with the condition of the lobby, hallways and elevators. They all were clean, well kept and smelled fresh unlike some other places I looked at. The laundry room was clean and has enough washers and dryers so it should be available anytime and most importantly the building has fire sprinklers. Moving into a new home always has a few challenges, however Helen and Raquel the office managers and their staff were patient and genuinely interested in helping me feel comfortable. My apartment is bright and airy with a spacious floor plan and a large walk-in closet. When I moved it was freshly painted, clean and virtually everything worked as it was supposed to. It appeared like management cared enough to have it ready to live in. Over the first few weeks I discovered a few small issues that management corrected almost immediately. It’s a quiet atmosphere here and the few people i’ve met seem pleasant, they tell me there were many enjoyable social activities before the Corona virus, I look forward to that in the future. Unfortunately there’s no system to pay the rent electronically (without a service fee) but using the “bill pay” option through my credit union was an easy work around. Being across the street from the Five Points Plaza shopping center is a major plus with a Trader Joe’s market and many other shops and restaurants only a short walking distance away. Within a 2-3 block radius are several strip malls with pharmacies, dozens of restaurants and even a car wash with virtually every other type of store you could think of close enough for me to walk to. Less than 10 minutes away (by car) are Walmart, Costco and the Bella Terra shopping center next to the 405 freeway. So far I feel good about choosing Five Point Seniors Apartments. P.S. I have recently discovered a few items that need to be repaired or replaced and I have confidence that management will do what is necessary to correct them.

My mom is at Five Points Senior Apartment. You have to be 55 or over to live there, but everything is designed really well for seniors, like the showers have non-slip surfaces with minimal steps to get in. Their apartments all have a balcony or a patio. They're lovely apartments. They have a huge laundry facility. They have activities like bingo and movies. They have transportations too. Every week they go to a different store, and on Thursdays, they will take you to and from a doctor's appointment. The ladies who are in the management office are fabulous. Also the seniors can walk across the street to a mass of shopping areas. Most definitely, I would recommend this community, but you definitely need to be purely independent.
