I'm in skilled nursing at Park Vista Health Center for about three weeks now. It smells clean. The staff comes in in the morning and says, "Good morning. How are you? It's a beautiful day." I said all they need now is the Disney music and the birds singing because it's really, really cute and happy. There's constant upkeep and maintenance. There are constant people vacuuming the floors and cleaning the bathrooms. I've actually never encountered something gross. I've never even encountered pee or anything in the toilet. They're constantly cleaning. They have really great food. They have a chef that cooks fresh food, not frozen junky food. They have activities for people that are here, like movies and live music, sometimes two or three times a week live music and sing-alongs. They have PT and OT and they have a whole room with equipment for the PT and OT. They will do anything to make you happy. I never encountered a staff member who wasn't supportive even if they weren't in charge of your room. If they saw you doing something weird, they'd say, "How are you doing today? Can I help you with anything?" It's like everybody's always there for you. It's an older facility, but I still give it a five because of the cleanliness, the smell, and the upkeep. If you don't like the food, they'll bring you something else. They'll bring you something any time of day. If you get a hankering for ice cream, you could ask for it and they'll get it for you. Compared to regular nursing homes, this place just shines. They deserve a five in everything. They saved my life. When I first got here, I couldn't move anything except for my big toe. I was so sad because I thought I'll never walk again and now I'm walking with the walker up and down the big hallway and all around the building and I'm supposed to go home tomorrow. Most places don't give you as much time in therapy as this place does and that's important to get your strength back and being able to function again.

My mom has been a resident here for over two years. The staff is amazing at caring for the residents, going out of their way to be kind and helpful.

I went to visit a friend at Park Vista Health Center. She is recuperating from a broken hip. It's a lovely facility, but I hate computers, and I think they should just have people signed in. They have everything that I have noticed other facilities are having. The staff members are very helpful. Her room looks clean, and she seems comfortable. I didn't see a dining room, but there must be one. She's not able to get out of bed as far as the broken hip is concerned. I did notice some kind of physical therapy going on. The facility is very well maintained. I haven't had a meal and she doesn't have an appetite, but it looked good. There's a library to the left of the front desk. She seems to be doing well. The other reason I noticed that it might be a good idea to just have people signed in (and I realize with Covid they have to take your temp) is because her son has epileptic seizures and he was with me, and it takes him forever to use the computer to put his name and phone number and so forth. They helped, which was very kind of them. I also noticed a gentleman that had probably come to see a friend or a relative (he's about my age and I'm 80), so sometimes it would be better if they could speed things up, so people don't have to stand there.
