My mother is at Rancho San Diego right now. It is a converted house with three bedrooms set up with two beds, nightstands, dressers, and a closet in each. The house has central air and central heat. They serve very large portions of very American food. For breakfast, they have oatmeal and toast with jelly, or eggs and bacon, or pancakes and sausage. For lunch, they usually have a roast or chicken. They have their big meal in the middle of the day, and then at night, they will have soup and a sandwich. They have fresh fruits at every meal, fresh salads, and desserts. Every morning at 10:00, they go outside for a walk around the backyard or patio. They encourage them to do stretching exercises and get up and move and walk. They play board games and cards. They are very attentive. Nobody is just ever sitting there watching TV or staring. There is always interaction.
