My cousin is at Country Hills. I have never physically seen it other than the outside of the building and the corridor. It looks like a hotel, so it's very pleasant looking. I didn't smell urine, and it looks like everybody gets a window too. I had a choice of a couple of facilities I could have him put in, and I thought that this facility was one of the better ones, and it's a better location for him. Their social worker calls me every week. We had a medical staff team that all got together and had a meeting with me about him, which I thought was very nice. It was very thorough, and I got to speak with everybody. Also, when they first gave us the assessment, they let me know what their plan was for him, so that was encouraging. They just moved my cousin in. It was still the standard procedure that once you're in a newer facility you have to go through a two-week quarantine, even though he just had it at the hospital. In that quarantine area, there are three people in a room. The staff has given me no problem, and I was able to have Amazon packages and pizza sent over there. Since I can't see him, that's the next best thing. The facility is beautiful. They give him physical and occupational therapy, and it's all covered by insurance at this point.

My mom is at Country Hills Health Care. She does not seem to mind the facility, but she seems pretty happy. They had her quarantined in the first fourteen days. Now that she is out of quarantine, they have her in a room with three beds - which is pretty crowded. It's also a little frustrating because I don't know who her nurse is. When you go up to the nurses station, they are always scrambling. I cannot really get that question answered. We were sitting in the hall with my mom and all I wanted to do was schedule a hair appointment to get her hair washed and cut. I was not able to do that. The staff was pretty friendly to me, but I am not sure how they are with mom. With regards to the food, I asked my mom about it, and she said that it's very good.

Country Hills Health Care is a hospital type setting. It has more of an institutional feel and I'm not too thrilled with it. I had to request assistance several times and the communication is poor. The food is OK. My mom is participating in activities. They should have better communication and have more follow through on what they say that they're going to do.

I was impressed with Country Hills Health Care in the beginning. They seemed to be very friendly with their residents and had a lot of activities for them to do. But my mother never really participated any of it and their care seemed to go downhill while she was down there and I couldn't just keep here there anymore. She was more aware than the residents who were there and I wanted her to be along people whom she could converse with and who could talk to her. So, I took her out of there and put her in the care home. They were understaffed.
