My mom moved to Truewood by Merrill, Clovis. It is conveniently close. I like the staff, I like the interaction, and the ease of registration. They made things easy and clear. I've been there every other day. She is adjusting. I had the food the first day I got there. It was good. The facility was nice. They have a monthly schedule that's posted. I do know that they had arts and bingo. I do know they had an old movie thing that they tried to jog their memory. It was one of the much more reasonably priced facilities.

We liked Truewood by Merrill, Clovis. They seemed to have some organized activities for the memory care clients. It was clean and organized, and the people knew what they were doing. They seemed to have an upbeat positive attitude. We liked their philosophy. The only thing we didn't like was most of the rooms were shared rooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom. There were a very limited number of single rooms, and we didn't see one that was available. They were talking about current events and had some games for the residents. The staff who assisted us with the tour seemed very knowledgeable and understanding, and he didn't pressure us at all.

The salesperson at Truewood by Merill, Clovis was very nice, helpful, and followed up with me. It was clean. It just didn't feel as homey as some of the other ones. They were minimal in what they offered. There was a courtyard and a dining room, and that's pretty much all I saw. There wasn't anything wrong with them. It just wasn't what I was looking for. It was average. The rooms were small.

The staff at Truewood by Merrill, Clovis was very attentive to my party. The management staff were outstanding. They were very knowledgeable, very friendly, and answered any of our questions without hesitation. The conditions of the overall facility that we saw were outstanding. The studio would have been the one that we're interested in for my brother. It was large and the layout was very good for a disabled person, which my brother would meet that criteria. It has a kitchenette, a very large roll-in shower, and nice windows. So, it's very light and airy. The one-bedroom was the same. The studio would accommodate a twin-sized bed, while the one-bedroom will accommodate a full-sized bed. I looked in all the corners of the facility and it was very clean. We also took the opportunity to view the residential dining room and it's very clean and very well thought out.

I went to Orchard Park. It didn't impress me at all. It was an old school type of setup. You go in, and it's like a motel. It's like a big area where you talk to somebody. There are a lot of people walking all over the place. It didn't seem like a home. They were really nice people. They were accommodating with any question I had. They answered it for me. The place wasn't as clean as it would have been. We looked at one room. It was locked, and it took like ten minutes to find out how to open the door to get in to look at it. They've got a dining area and an area where they sat around. People taught them things for memory care. They're all bunched up in a room that I didn't like at all. They had an area in the back, like a small garden area. It could be cleaner; it's kind of dark. I think it has a lot to do with that it's an old facility; it's been there over twenty years.

I had an in-person tour at Orchard Park. I visited both assisted living and memory care. They're very nice. Everything is pretty good except for one thing, and that is the double room in the memory care. I don't like the way it is set up. Then, if you go to the single room, the cost is a problem, too. The staff is fine. I didn't try the food. The facilities are fine. It's nice and clean.

We chose Orchard Park because it's close to us, so it was really convenient for social events and medical assistance. I thought the staff was great. My mom likes the staff and the food is OK. They're open to doing more activities, though sometimes I think that their resources are a little bit stretched. I really like that they allow pets; it's one of the reasons we chose them. They have a really nice setup, and the building is well-done. They have movies, activities, exercise, and on Wednesdays and Fridays they go on outings.

I fell and my injury caused all kinds of problems. When I came to Orchard Park, I couldn't even walk around the courtyard just once, but now I can do it 16 or 17 times. I have improved. The food has also improved; they used to just have two choices but now there are three choices per meal. You have to learn to eat certain types of food, and I have. In the morning, I look at the other residents just sitting there waiting to have their food. While I sit down during breakfast, I look at the menu, and write down what I want to have for lunch, or choose for dinner. The room is cleaned fine including my laundry.

Orchard Park was a very nice and clean facility, and it's run well. The residents seemed to be happy there. There was a gentleman in the library reading books. The garden area was very nice. They pointed out what people grow on their balconies. They have an exercise room and it looked very nice. The residents all seemed to be happy with the meals.

The lady who assisted me at Orchard Park was very informative and she gave me a lot more information about the whole process than I got anywhere else. The rooms weren't as nice, but they were more suitable for what I was looking at. It's centrally located and the grounds are adequate. The price was in line with others and there wasn't much difference.

Orchard Park was nice, and the staff was very helpful. They gave me a lot of information. The residents were sitting around in a circle looking at something, and they have outdoor activities.

My mother was a resident here for almost four years. The staff was friendly and so kind, so helpful and patient. My mother suffered from dementia and Orchard Park turned out to be the best and safest place for her. I never worried that she would not be cared for properly. I was always welcome (as were all our family members) to come and visit anytime and also to participate in the various activities. Even though my mother has passed away now, I will always think of Orchard Park as family.

This is a very friendly and safe community with kind staff who really care. My mother was a resident here for 2 years and she really loved it. She made lots of friends while she was here .and the food is great here.

I visited Orchard Park. The staff was friendly. It seemed like they were very focused on their patients or the people that lived there. They had lots of activities for them. The rooms were quite large, and they shared a bath. The residents looked happy, and they were very busy.

We have our uncle and his wife settled in to Orchard Park, and they like it. The place is really nice, and I like that they try to work with memory care patients who are not ready to be locked up. They have assisted living, but they keep an eye on them pretty good, so that's a huge plus. Some other centers just want to lock them up as soon as they hear the word "dementia," but these people would like to work with them and try to have the residents have dignity. They have memory care, so it's nice that we don't have to move them completely to another place. They can graduate all the way to hospice if they have to, and we liked that they had all the different levels of care. We've had staff issues that they've been talked to about. It's about their lack of compassion with the fact that my uncle was just trying to get to his wife, and they treated him like he was crazy even though he wasn't. The guy's been married 58 years, and he doesn't know how to live without his wife. When they got separated, he was just trying to get to her, and they just wanted to lock him up, but they're coming around, and the fact that they're receptive, I'd mark them higher. They have improved, and the food is good.

Orchard Park was very nice. I liked it, and I liked the people. I thought they were very nice and helpful. The rooms were a little small, but I was told that that was on purpose so that the residents wouldn't stay in their rooms all the time.

Orchard Park was a nice place with assisted living and memory care. The assisted living was really nice and had a great big dining room. The memory care part was completely different. There weren’t any carpets; the floor looked like wood, but it wasn’t wood. Down the one end of the hallway, there was the dining area for the memory care part, which had the same food as the other part, but it wasn’t like the assisted living part. It was more like an Army mess hall. Cleanliness was OK, but the memory part of it was the complete opposite of the assisted living. The TV in the corner of the room was up on the wall, and they just had regular fold-up chairs. I’m sure they cared for them, and the people did what they had to do, but I didn’t like it. The grounds looked well kept, though.

Mom's in the memory care of Orchard Park. Everybody I have dealt with seems very caring, cooperative, and nice. I don't have any complaints about them. They do a very good job. The food to me is a little bland, but of course a lot of people have certain restrictions. But the food was good. They have family night dinner once a month or outings for the ones that are able to go. Everybody just seems to be real nice. They do their job pretty well. If you have an issue or question, they usually take that quickly. I don't have any complaints so far so good. I would recommend it. I'm very impressed and happy with it.

We were most impressed with Orchard Park. We liked the people and the layout of the room was what we were interested in. It would be our choice; however, it was pricier. They had an exercise class, a salon, and a nice library. It was a nice facility. We had lunch there in a very nice dining area, and the food was very good.

Due to celiac disease I require a gluten free (GF) diet. I was up front with the sales rep. Supposedly she checked with the chef or other in charge; called back and said we can accommodate a GF diet. Day of tour I received a reminder call and everything was in place. I left shortly thereafter for the tour which is approximately 40 miles from my home. Received a call on my cell that I didn't get until I was in Fresno since I was driving. She informed me that no they wouldn't be able to accommodate a GF diet. I was crushed! It seems the sales reps were just interested in attempting to make a sale, not listen and address my issues. This makes me suspicious of what type of care a resident would receive there.
Provider Response
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Your comments are very important to us. We strive to meet the unique dietary needs of each of our residents and take pride in the delivery of our services. When it comes to a gluten-free diet, there are varying levels of gluten intolerance and our goal was to understand your specific needs and determine if our dining team could meet those needs. We apologize for any misunderstanding and would welcome the opportunity to discuss our dining program with you further or assist you with resources that might help with your search.

My parents have lived at Orchard Park for a year and a half. They have a very nice apartment facing the courtyard and enjoy visiting with residents who are walking by. The staff is patient, caring and very friendly. I checked several other assisted living/memory care facilities but chose Orchard Park because of the recommendations I got from people who had friends or relatives who had stayed there.
Provider Response
Thank you for your endorsement of our community. We pride ourselves on having compassionate staff and nurturing a vibrant social community, so we’re very glad to hear that your parents are happy here. Should you have any further feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

If you want a place that your parent will receive care and compassion..stay away from Orchard Park. It is ill run, not enough staff. I can go on and on. My mother was there for 5 weeks and only had 2 showers. At one point when she requested a shower, a wet rag was thrown at her and she was told to "wash yourself". Calls to the room are answered but if there is going to be any delay in fulfilling the request (such as a need for medication) the delay is not communicated to the resident. Dirty clothes were not put in her hamper. They were left on the floor. The bedside commode was not emptied. At one time my mother, who was confined to a wheelchair was told by a staff member that it wasn't the staffs responsibility to empty a commode. My mother sat in a room that smelled due to urine and B.M. left in the commode next to her bed until we got there the next day. The administration needs a course on how to run an assisted living facility. I would not recommend Orchard Park to anyone. When my mother begin showing signs that her end of life was near, Hospice was not notified even though she was under Hospice care. The PA was not notified of her death until the following day.No one offered their condolences..it was awful.
Provider Response
We appreciate your thoughtfulness in providing us with feedback, though we are disheartened to hear of your disappointments with your mother’s care. We strive to enrich our residents’ lives through every service we provide and we regret that you feel this was not the case during your mother’s time with us. Please feel free to reach out to Executive Director Kim Sherman regarding any further feedback for our staff at our main line.

Orchard Park was very nice and very good; I was very pleased with it. The staff was exceptional. Of the ones I visited, they were my favorite staff for the way they were interacting with the residents. The facility is older but clean and very nice, and the rooms were a little smaller. It was definitely on the top of my list.

I visited to Orchard Park. I like that it was smaller, but the rooms were kind of small. I would recommend it. It was clean. The people that we saw looked like they were well taken care of. They had a lot of activities, which I think is good for people that don't want to get out. This facility had both assisted living and independent living.

Dad is at Orchard Park Assisted Living. They are very nice people, and the facility itself is very nice. It’s clean, and they have a lot of privacy. Everybody else there seems happy, but my dad is not happy although it has only been a week, and I think it may take some more time. I like the staff. They are very helpful. They have three pull cords in each apartment and all they have to do is call and ask for help. They are all very polite and eager to try to help. Dad is not attending any activities, but they have lots of activities. They have movie nights, popcorn available every morning, a little coffee area where they can sit. They also have a piano. They have a huge patio out in the back. They also have an arts and crafts room. People can do their own laundry if they want, and there is no charge. They also have a bus, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday mornings they have outings as well.

Orchard Park has the most caring of staffs. The resident really matters here. They offer Memory Care rooms too. The food is good and the facility is clean and pleasant, but it is the staff and administration that sets it apart.

It was a nice place, quiet area. The building and rooms were clean and always seemed to be kept tidy. The rooms varried in temperature dramatically and you couldn't really control it beyond a degree or two. When my grandma needed help with the bathroom/etc I always had to wave someone down in the hallway even though my grandma had buzzed a nurse. However the facility was full and staff was limited.

When my family was first searching for an assisted living facility, we had to look for a facility that could take our mother and also provide the medical attention for our ailing father, who had Alzheimer's disease. The only way that our parents agreed to stay was if they were to be together. Orchard Park provided that for us! When you walk through the front doors ,it's mesmerizing what you find inside. The fireplace, piano and organ are an I catcher, but then the massive dining room. WOW! Our parents room was a small loft/1 bedroom apartment which offered a bedroom, living area, private bathroom and a small kitchenette. It was perfect for them! When we walked through the facility it was spotless. People always greeted you or answered any questions . They offered many different activities like a movie night, dancing(even exotic), daily outings, talent shows and many more. The facility staff always put our mind at ease by providing transportation if we couldn't make a doctor appointment. Our parents were able to meet new friends and feel that they still mattered. I highly recommend anyone that has an elderly parent, grandparent or relative to visit for yourself. You'll be impressed!!

Orchard Park Assisted Living/Retirement/Senior Home was a wonderful experience for me. I had decided to volunteer here because I always wanted to work with senior people as I find their stories of their lives interesting and worth listening to. The seniors here were all very welcoming and sweet. The staff here were all extremely helpful and cared for the residents with the utmost care. Even the food was worth something to rave about for I usually stay there and volunteer for a couple of hours so I tend to get very hungry. I played card games, watch TV, read books, and listened to the residents talk about their lives. Everyone seemed to always have something to do or say. I served food and visited residents in their own room. There was wheelchair accessibility and even a hairdresser/salon within the Assisted Living Facility. The atmosphere was always cheery and homely even though the building was grandoise and rooms decorated to the senior's own discretion. I love and miss everything about this senior home, and hope to visit the lovely residents again!
