My mother lives at Harmony bay for 8 years and enjoyed it. But there was a new manager named Cynthia that is not senior friendly. The owner came out with s list of things that you had to pay for such as having the weeds in your patio cleaned up and other costs. My mother had big stains on her carpet even tho we had it cleaned. She needed two have the carpet between kitchen and living room fixed. She ask them if there was anything they could do. They did clean the carpet but the person that cleaned it said the stains will not come out and the carpet needed to be replaced. The managers response was there is nothing we can do. So OK we let it go so not to rock the boat. The strip between kitchen and living room needed to be fixed again. The manager came over with a gentleman no discussion with me or my mom ( she's 93 but does well in her own) the manager gave her a notice that they were going to replace all the floors but bedrooms on a specific date. If then date was changed she would be charged $150.00. I called the office and ask Cynthia who was moving the furniture and where would it be moved. Her answer was she would have to move furniture, if she can't she'll have to pay someone to move it in and out also the furniture would sit outside or you could rent a insult truck to store the furniture. If the mainland man helped there was a charge. Unfortunately she doesn't have a lit of money. I ask her to call the corporate office and see what could be dine. Later that day my mother got a notice to vacate the apartment. Yes we looked into a lawyer and yes it was retailatation but they would find other stuff or not renew her lease in July. There is no one that could move furniture. The managers were so helpful but now the management and owner don't care. It's a business and they are looking for money. One comment that was made is that this apartment is not assisted living. But if you caterer to 55 and over you need to have more compassion and treat the seniors as they should be treated as we will all be there one day! It really put my mother in a tailspin that she had to move!!

When I go into the clubhouse area of Harmony Bay to ask questions, the people are very friendly and very open to answering questions. I know my mother loves it because it’s all 1-story, and it’s small; each little area is a fourplex, so there are two people on one side, two people on the other. Some of them may be sixplexes, and it’s a gated community so it feels safe. I like it, too. Looking in the clubhouse, they do have get-togethers. They have a knitting group that she has gone to a couple of times. You can rent the clubhouse to have a bigger party if you want to have a bigger party. They don’t have transportation to places, but you can get door to door transportation if you qualify and need it.

We went to Harmony Bay for a visit because dad wanted to live independently, but he is just not able to. The facility is nice, but there is no help there. He is going have to hire all the help that he needs and it is going to cost more in the long run. They have a lot of activities and bus trips too.

My mom has been living in harmony Bay for six years. It's a 55+ community and everybody is of the same age and watch out for each other. It's a central location, close to shopping and Clovis has a round-up bus, pick them up for a dollar and take them places. They have bingo and cards game. She's happy and very comfortable there.

The experience was good, the facilities were almost brand new upon my first visit. The area included a gym, pool and main center with a T.V that played sports games and the news. The neighbors were all very nice that I had met. The staff at the facility was also very nice and willing to help and understand any situation that may arise when dealing with the elderly. They offered shuttles to the nearby hospital and the Veterans Hospital a little farther away. Every time I visited I had a pleasant experience. I did not worry for the safety of myself or of my Grandparents who were living there. The facility was located not too far from the center of Clovis which made it easy to visit becasue it was not too far away. I had no problems with the facility and when my grandparents finally moved out, there were no problems there either. Overall, I would recomend Harmony Bay to people looking for a retirement commuinity in the Fresno/Clovis area
