The building has a tiny elevator, something extremely dangerous and foolish when there are so many scooters and wheelchairs. It was a residential building refitted to be a senior home. However, a lot more retrofitting would be needed to make it safe and appropriate. There is a lackadaisical attitude to safety. On the plus side, it is clean and pleasant. The leadership of the facility is questionable.

My sister has lived at the Lesley Terrace in Belmont ( senior housing) for 7 months. There are a few assisted living units separated from the rest of the residents. The facility is government subsidized so there aren't really any bells and whistles to the apt. but it is quite functional for the elderly who have given up cooking. Although she has an oven in the unit, there is not room for a microwave in the kitchen and not more than 1 foot of usable counter space. This actually is a plus for us because with dementia/alzheimer's, it is too dangerous for her to be cooking. Meals are included with the rent, so everyone eats breakfast and dinner in a common area. The food is not bad either. Lunch is provided for an addtional $4 a day and if you want your breakfast and dinner delivered to your door, there is a nominal charge. There are the usual amenities: snack shop, barber shop, activities, shopping trips, WII, large reading room. It is a pretty nice facility for the price--affordable for the senior on a fixed income. There is a parking garage, but you can't get a space unless you are a resident with a drivers license. I tried to get a space because I am there taking care of her almost daily, but they refused to give me one.
