My mom has moved into Auburn Ravine Terrace. I think it's wonderful. They're wonderful to the people. They have a small apartment. The food is always presented and it's always beautiful. However, I think that there should be at least two options for the meal. Luckily, they have a small kitchen, so I've stocked my mom's place. She doesn't have a stove, but she has a microwave, and if you don't like what they have that day, then you can make your own. That's the good news. My mom has a one-bedroom. It's 750 square feet. It has a good-sized living room, dining room, and bathroom with a walk-in shower. There's a bathtub but it's walk-in. It has a balcony, so she can sit outside, sip a cup of tea or do whatever she wants. It's very nice. For activities, they have bingo, they play cards, they have socials outside, and they go on field trips. There's something every day if you want to. They have a director for the activities. My sister pays for my mother's care. She was paying $5600 a month at the other place, which was a disgrace. Here, she only has to pay $4600 a month for all that my mother has right now, so it's fabulous. They are a nonprofit, so I know that people that could not pay can still get in there.

I toured Auburn Ravine Terrace. I liked the activities that they had, that they had three meals a day, and they had transportation. Everybody seemed happy to be there. The rooms were all one-bedroom, and they were decent-sized. Everything was pretty updated and clean. They have independent living, assisted care, and nursing. My mom likes the fact that they have them all.

The building is in poor condition but was clean. The library and dining area were not inviting at all. The lady at the front desk was very ill informed and even pronounced Alzheimer’s incorrectly. That was really bad. There was a nice lady that came up to the desk, to interject and she smelled like an ashtray, I couldn’t even stand close to her. I waited for someone to give me a tour, and after 10 minutes they gave me a folder. Nobody was available. I didn’t have an appointment so that was on me, but I wanted to get a view without them preparing things so I would get an actual look at the location. It felt like people were trying to help, but it was kind of a circus, of confusion.

Auburn Ravine Terrace was an older place, but it was quite nice. The rooms were well-maintained and clean. They had a garden area and they provide transportation for their residents. The staff was great, too.

I liked everything about Auburn Ravine Terrace. I liked the people, the atmosphere, and the building in general. They did offer a lot more than the other place I visited. The staff was excellent. The rooms were pretty good. It was a complete apartment. It had a complete kitchen, which I liked. They had trips outside the area. They had all kinds of activities.

I was impressed with Auburn Ravine programming and the staff as my tour guide was equally as friendly and helpful. The location of it didn’t fit right with mom. The other thing was Auburn Ravine did not have memory care staff, and since my mom is in an early stage of dementia so we don’t have to move her again in two years. They have 1-bedroom and studio was good and it was equal to the other facility we are in. They have a dining area, a beauty shop, and they have a bus that would take them to places. They are Medicare facilities, and we were interested in the beginning that should she outlive her money, then she could stay there.

I didn't spend much time at Auburn Ravine Terrace. It made me feel all nervous, like you're in a hospital. It's just the feeling of the place. But it could be the nature of skilled nursing. We did walk through the assisted living portion because they have different levels of care. The assisted living part didn't feel as bad as the skilled nursing part. But in comparison it still was more like a hospital versus a vacation resort. And it had nothing to do with their staff. The staff was excellent very helpful, and competent. It was just the environment.

The facility is bright and clean, and there are always helpful staff around. The individual apartment where my friend lives is small, but plenty of space for her. I really like that each apartment has it's own kitchen, so the residents can choose if they feel up to preparing a meal or would rather eat in the communal dining room. The facility also offers bus transportation to local shops and events, which makes the residents feel more freedom than if they had to come up with their own way of getting around. All of the people I have met there, residents and staff seem happy and comfortable. My friend who lives there likes it and the only negative I can think of is that they did not allow her to bring her cat with her, although this may have been a personal choice rather than a facility rule, I'm not sure.

The Auburn Ravine Terrace is smaller than some facilities and that is what helps make it so good. It is easy for residents and family members to get to know staff. There are three levels of care available within the assisted living and there are three overall levels of care: independent apartments, assisted living and a skilled nursing facility all within the same complex. My dad spent time in all three levels of care. I was constantly impressed with how the staff went above and beyond to make him comfortable and as independent as possible. The activities are over the top including outings for those that are able. Recently they have been remodeling and it is looking beautiful. The reputation in this area is that it is the best facility, but it looked a little utilitarian..not any more, it is looking quite lovely. My mother has been a resident of the snf for five years. I cannot tell you how many times I have arrived to visit to find a staff member sitting with her just visiting, doing her nails or even singing to her! They have become like family!! There is a very low turn over of staff which is also a good thing.
