Walnut Village was like a hotel or a resort from the entry and the amenities they had. They had a swimming pool, an exercise room, and entertainment at night. It was very plush. The rooms are a little bit small but adequate.

The physical facility of Walnut Village was very nice, and very up-to-date. The staff was accommodating; not exceptional, just average. The rooms were nicely furnished and plenty of space. I think the food was OK. I didn't taste it, but my husband did. He was there for about three to four weeks. They had a program of afternoon activities, and they vary from discussion groups to movies, the games that they play, and things. I would suggest include better follow-through care, depending on the circumstances of the individual. Sometimes, some need more than others.

Walnut Manor was nice. It had assisted living, rehab, and independent living. It was very big and, to some degree, cumbersome. I did not get to experience the independent living facility as I would have liked, but the people were good, and I was impressed with them. I liked it. The rooms were fairly small. They had events and activities. I find it to be the most medically inclined facility and hospital oriented. I would recommend it to others.

We did visit another site, but my mom was not able to go there because of her weight. I love it. I would want my mother in Walnut Village in Anaheim if I can do it. It was after hours, and we got toured by a nurse. We were on the skilled side which is hospital beds and rooms. They were beautiful and large. It can accommodate families coming to visit. It has a seating area, and it is nice. The people, the cleanliness, and the setup of the rooms impressed me the most.

The outside itself looks gorgeous. Welcoming, clean, a lot of foliage, and safe area. Inside it smells clean which is very rare, as most facilities I have been in smelled like waste no matter how hard they try to mask it with aerosol spray. Beautifully painted, smiling staff, and the residents there seemed happy and well taken care of. There was a good ratio of residents to nurses, and a doctor came by every day to check on each resident. The food looked delicious, always served warm, and honestly looked like something served at a hotel. We ended up going to a different, closer facility, but this facility was one of the best ones we looked at.
