After my father passed away, my brother and I started looking for a facility for my mother to spend her remaining years. After visiting several places, we found Walnut Village in Anaheim, Ca. Our mother has been a resident now for 5 years. It is a first class facility....that is no exaggeration. It is truly the quality of Celebrity Cruise Line on land. From the staff, the cleanliness, the dining room which looks like a 5 star restaurant that has menu items like Filet, Scampi, and beautiful salads and even a salad bar. To the piano lounge with "Happy Hour" every night. Residents can bring their own drinks or use "wine lockers" there. They offer various types of assisted living services including an entire memory care unit. The facility has a very unique way in determining the monthly fee you pay. The facility even has church services on site for various denominations as well a full exercise programs, library, arts and crafts room and even on-site hair salon. An underground parking garage is there for residents who drive. They have a shuttle that takes residents to appointments, shopping and even a day trip monthly to Pechanga Casino and wine country. Everything is included so no money is ever exchanged. 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms are offered and cleaning and daily nurse visits are provided. It is right near Disneyland so the residents can enjoy the nightly fireworks. If you want your loved one(s) in a first class living facility, Walnut Village is it!!

Walnut Village was very nice and we were still considering them. They're accessible from where we are. It was a little bit close to Disneyland. They have nice facilities inside but the surrounding neighborhood was a little bit more crowded. The staff was all good. They were very helpful. They gave us all the information and responded to us. We had lunch there and it was all presented very well, but I think it wasn't enough. We noticed that they were small portions. The facility was upscale, but kind of an older community, so things were not quite up-to-date. They had a bistro, which was more like a soda shop/bar, and a regular restaurant, too. The facility was clean.

I was impressed with Walnut Village. It's sheer perfection. I would've been very happy going there, but it just wasn't time for me to go into that kind of a facility. The person during the tour was charming, very knowledgeable, and very pleasant. He made it sound like it would be wonderful. The dining area was like going to a very fancy restaurant. It was really a nice place. They also have a little coffee shop. I saw one woman working out in the gym with a trainer. Everybody was so pleasant and so happy. It's a lovely place.

Walnut Village was fantastic. The people I met were really nice and very informative. The place and the layout were beautiful. You couldn't want for anything more. The person who accommodated me was brilliant. I had so much fun talking with her. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made you want to be best friends with her. The dining area and cafe looked great. I was able to see the skilled nursing facility as well as the memory care facility and both of them looked great.

The food that I had at Walnut Village was incredible. I really felt like it was fine dining at a restaurant. The staff said this is normally what is served. She also said they based their food on points. You could spend your points for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or you don't have to use them at all, and you can use them for your guests. Their food was incredible. The staff said that this is a formal sit-down dining room, and you would come dressed nicely here. The only drawback with Walnut Village is that it sits in the middle of where Disneyland is. Other than that, they have valet parking, and it was beautiful inside. Other than that traffic, it was totally a 10. Everything was new, first-class, and clean. The only reservation I have is the location. They have all kinds of activities. They have a beautiful indoor pool, a beautiful area to exercise with lots of exercise equipments, a beautiful courtyard, a beautiful library, and a game room. It was just gorgeous.

Walnut Village is a high-end luxury buy-in. It is an equity purchase, so you have to buy your way in there. It’s $3,000 - $5,000 on the minimum every month in addition to the purchase. The apartments were excellent, very nice, medium sized, not huge or anything like that. But it is very upscale, and they have got tremendous eating facilities. They have a memory care, and they even got a total rehab side.

I know a couple of people who have had family members at Walnut Village or somebody that I know who is there right now, and I really like this place. But one of the drawbacks was that I know I was going to get resistance from my aunt about the cost. Telling her, “Okay, you are going to have to come up with like $200,000 to move in,. I just didn’t think that I was going to get her to understand that. The second thing was that I wanted to keep her near her doctors, and I wanted to keep her closer to where she used to live; although Walnut Village was more convenient for me, it wasn’t convenient for her. It was a very nice place and also maybe a little large.

We visited Walnut Village. We’re moving in there in two weeks. It suited us well in all respects. We are moving into a 1,400-square-foot apartment, and it is a perfect size and the way it’s arranged is going to work well for us. They have an indoor swimming pool and fitness center, which we will try, and an art room that I have my eyes on. There are a lot of activities that are ongoing that I think we will enjoy. The dining room and coffee shop are nice. I have a full kitchen in my apartment. The staff members are very helpful, very warm, and friendly and welcomed us. It's just very comfortable.

Walnut Village is very unique. It’s built right around the Village Square, and they have a little post office and a little shop with sundries, with the apartments built around it. I liked the idea that it has a real chapel and not just a room that they call the chapel. I have many friends there and they love it. Most of the people I know that are in a place are in Walnut Village, and they are extremely happy. I liked the idea that you can have a little spiritual area, too.

I went to Walnut Village. It was a very nice facility. The people working there seemed to be doing well. They were very, very nice. The surroundings were very, very nice. They have a very wide variety of activities. They have an indoor pool and swimming activities. They have exercise programs and reading programs. Walnut Village was a very nice facility.
