All complaints are investigated by the ombudsman, including those made by residents' families and third parties. The ombudsman will try to resolve the complaint with the facility's owner or manager. An additional service offered to seniors comparing assisted living communities for their long-term needs is free access to the facilities' most recent inspection reports.
Veterans Service Commission(330) 740-2450The Veterans Service Commission of Mahoning County supports U.S. military veterans and their families, helping them identify and apply for local, state and federal benefits to which they're entitled. It can also help qualifying vets apply for the VA Aid and Attendance benefit, which can help meet some of their assisted living costs. Other services include referring vets to VA clinics and medical centers.
RSVP Mahoning Valley(330) 480-0352Seniors who want to volunteer their time, skills and experience to help other citizens of Poland and Mahoning County should contact RSVP Mahoning Valley. The organization can connect seniors with suitable nonprofits, local charities and government agencies that rely on the help volunteers provide.
