I was in Legacy Heights Retirement Center before. At first, I thought it was assisted living, but it wasn't, it was independent living. We went through COVID, and so that stopped a lot of the things that they would have been doing with us, going out to eat and things like that. But that was not their fault. They were being very careful. The place was very clean. The food was very good. The help was good. They were always willing to help you do anything. They were very good, they were very nice. We didn't go out unless we had to.

My mom is in Memory Lane. I’ve been there twice because I live in California. The staff is extremely polite and seem to be well trained. The facility is very nice, new, and well suited for people who have Alzheimer’s. My mother is probably not as far along as a lot of other people in the facility. The rooms and bathrooms are small but functional. The common areas are nice. The corridors are wide. There seems to be plenty of light. It is a well-designed facility and the nicest in the area. My mom says the food is OK.

My parents lived in Legacy Heights for three years, and that place was excellent in every way. The church was right next door to that building. I've seen the outside which is continuing to improve, and they've added an Alzheimer's unit. It's brand new, so it's a very nice building. The apartments were great. They're arranged great. They have plenty of rooms. The only thing mother said that wasn't good was they didn't have enough storage room. The closets were not big enough for them. The food was very good, and it was home cooked. You could get just about anything you wanted, but they were served in a buffet, which I didn't like neither did mom because she had trouble getting around. They didn't participate very much, but the place offered a lot of things.

My dad was at Legacy Heights for only a couple of months. It was really nice. But they couldn't respond on time when he needed help. My dad is diabetic, so we figured out that wasn't going to work well.
