As people grow older it is not uncommon for them to need some help and assistance with their lives. Living a continent away our sons expressed their concerns for us since they would not physically be in a position to help when needed. Thus, we have considered our move into the Hacienda at the Canyon to be a "Gift to our children." With its beautiful surroundings and caring environment it has given our entire family the Peace of Mind we felt we needed. John

We toured The Hacienda at the Canyon. They have the capacity of an independent building, like a casita or a bungalow. We wanted a place that was not part of a complex. Even though it's got all the amenities, it's a separate building. We like the place very much. We are on a waiting list, so we intend to move there. The tour guide was very informative, very friendly, very nice to talk with, very personable, and knowledgeable. We had one meal there, and it was very good. It's a new place. It's modern. All the amenities are pretty much what you find anywhere. They've got all the graduated care facilities. They've got great décor and great ambiance. They have a gym and a pool. They have different activities for seniors. They have everything.

I have lived at Hacienda at the Canyon for 3 years. This home offers me peace of mind, an incredibly warm social life, fantastic food and more activities than I can possibly partake in. The additional benefit of on-site health care wasn't something I thought I would need but life being what it is, I did need it and got superior and immediate care. There is a welcoming, inclusive and supportive culture here. I would live anywhere else at this time of life.

I toured Hacienda at the Canyon today and was very impressed with the buildings, the grounds and the programs offered to residents. I also ate at one of their restaurants and in addition to great food our server was thoughtful, professional and efficient. A great experience in total!

I've been to The Hacienda at the Canyon. It was very, very large. I felt like I was in a hotel. It was a brief visit. I had dinner there and the food was fine. It was not memorable though. The apartments were very nice. I saw a two-bedroom apartment. I've seen the pool, but that's all. For me, it was just too big.

My parents both lived at Hacienda at the Canyon during their last years. Mom was in memory care, and Dad was in assisted living. The staff was warm, caring, and knowledgeable about my parents' needs. The food was great, the rooms were lovely, and there were many activities for those who wanted to participate. It was the best place for my parents!

It's a nice facility, but EXTREMELY expensive. I don't know what the exorbitant membership fee is for. Staff are nice, but kind of cold. You don't get the warm, fuzzies with them. When you call and leave a message, they take a long time to return the call if they ever do. They are a bit unorganized for as expensive a place as it is. Information is not given accurately. One staff gives information and another staff gives different information.

The Hacienda at the Canyon is new. We saw independent only, and we were very socially distanced. We saw a meeting room and looked in the hallways through glass. We saw two apartments. The staff member was a very nice lady. That's where we'd go if Mom would agree to it. The biggest issue was the $50,000 entry fee. It's like joining a country club, but it's gorgeous. The other big piece that really caught my attention was it has an in-house medical clinic through TMC, which is one of the major hospitals here, and it's 24/7. Her doctors could even come from this clinic. It's staffed by nurse practitioners. I wouldn't even have to find her doctors if she came here. She could actually have her doctor through that and it would be in the facility. It's a real up and coming system. The room was smaller than where Mom is in currently. She's in a big two-bedroom, and when you cut down to a one-bedroom independent, it just cuts everywhere. The living room is smaller, but other than that, it's new, fresh, and beautiful. It had a roll-in shower, so there's no lip on the showers, and you can just roll right in. There's nothing you have to step over, so it's very safe in that regard. It had washer and dryer hookups. They had five restaurants, which were all huge. They had one main dining and four small different styles of food, just to give them variety. They made us a little baked bag, and it was delicious. We only saw independent, but they had assisted and memory care. They did not have skilled nursing. The staff was very lovely and very helpful. It's gorgeous, and it's nestled in the side of the mountains, and inside the courtyard areas it's all grass. The inner courtyards were very lush and green, and all the levels had a floor out to the ground level.
