We toured the Cascades of Tucson. Everything that we looked at was nice, and they had absolutely wonderful views of the mountains, and it just felt very comfortable. The person that took us on a tour, we're very satisfied with her. The facility was very nice. It had a library and a gym, just like most places. They also had a pool and hot tub. The view was beautiful. The upkeep from what I saw was excellent. It was very nicely landscaped. The room sizes are very adequate.

I toured the Cascades of Tucson. The facility was very nice. The property itself and everything else seemed very good. The people living there were more independent than in a lot of the other places. The apartments were small but comfortable. It was an adequate size. They have adequate facilities. The staff was very personable, knowledgeable of the place, understood what I was looking for, and was very helpful. The dining room was very good. I had lunch there, and the food was okay.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife has moved into Cascades of Tucson. She has only been there for a week, but what caused me to place her there was the 1:5 ratio of caregivers to patients. Most of the other places I looked were 1:10. It's also family-owned, which I like, rather than a conglomerate. It's not overwhelming. The memory care unit is small. It's a long hallway. I got my wife one of three apartments with a door going out to the courtyard, so that way she has more freedom. I came right when it was lunch hour. My wife didn't want to stay in the lunchroom, and she wanted to go with me, so they brought her a tray, and the food was a sloppy Joe and it tasted just like a sloppy Joe. They had Zumba because I was there one time and they wanted my wife to go down there, but they saw I was visiting, so they didn't press the issue. But when I was looking at it initially, I saw that they had different activities. They have a fitness center, but unfortunately, it's not in the memory care facility. So I would have to take my wife over to the assisted living facility to work out. The courtyard is like a cement loop, which is nice. I saw some residents walking round and round and round for their exercise. Based on my research, it's one of the cheaper of the group of communities I looked at.

We liked everything about Cascades of Tucson. It seemed to have all the amenities that we would like. We would be able to stay in the same room should we need assisted living later on. We particularly liked the two-bedroom, two-bath apartments. Megan gave us a tour of the place and she was wonderful. She was very, very good. They had a patio and a pool. They had balconies, so you could sit outside on your own balcony.

Cascades of Tucson is very nice, well-kept, and clean. The rooms are nice. The staff who assisted me evaluated my view of the situation. I looked at the dining area, people were eating, and it looks good. They have a nice big studio, an entertainment area, and two different cafeterias. It's a very nice facility.

My tour of Cascades of Tucson was wonderful. There wasn't anything not to like about the community, the facility was nice and it was clean. The staff was friendly, they were knowledgeable and showed us everything, they invited us to lunch. So we had lunch there, the meal selections were great and the service was also great. We were serviced by Ari, she was wonderful, very friendly, and very attentive. The sales director that toured us around was Megan, she answered all our questions and showed us every amenity. She was open to everything we asked and answered to our satisfaction. The rooms were beautiful, the model room we saw was very nice and clean, it was just very attractive. They have so many activities. When we came into the entranceway, they were playing games, they had a library, they do bingo, and they were very interesting. We've been to other places and their food was mediocre at best, but here, the food was something that you'd pay to eat, and it was very good.

We liked the location and the size of the apartments at Cascades of Tucson. We looked at two bedrooms, and two baths. They didn't have washers and dryers, but they have access to a washer and dryer on each floor. We saw people doing different things, having discussion groups, playing card games, and they got one of the larger gyms with equipment. The dining area was a very nice place. They gave us a couple of meals and we enjoyed that. It was great. They're going to do some remodeling so they have a little work that they're going to do. They also do outings and they take you to appointments. They have a pool, a spa, a courtyard for outdoor seating, and some shady areas as well as sunny areas.

Cascades of Tucson was clean, warm, and comfortable. The apartment was very nice. I was very pleased, and it was just what I was looking for. All of their apartments had either a patio or a balcony. The lady who toured me was very nice and very easy to talk to. I actually talked to one of the residents who had been there for 13 years, and she just loved the place, and that it was always just wonderful. I talked to other ladies as well that had been there a long time and it was just great. They offer a lot of activities. I'm 85, and so the ones that kind of interested me would be the chair exercise to work on my strength and balance, but they also have movies every day with free popcorn, two libraries where you can just sit and read, a computer room, and a game room where they offer bingo and cards. The people were all very friendly and very nice about anything we wanted to ask.

Cascades of Tucson was great. It was very cheerful and pretty inclusive. It has a nice atmosphere. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful. Her name's Crystal, she was great. We saw an apartment, a one-bedroom. It was just beautiful and filled with a lot of light. It has a very generous space. It just had such a good independent feeling while still having safety features that my mom needs. It was a positive experience. It was really gorgeous. There's a pool and a nice dining hall, and lots of nice community spaces. The way that it's constructed is such that all the rooms have windows and balconies. It had a really beautiful feel.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I cannot speak highly enough about Cascades of Tucson. My parents have been there for almost five years now so I’ve been able to observe their care over time. The management and staff are friendly, sincere, caring, approachable, and responsive. When my folks or I have a question, need, or problem, Cascades listens and responds. The day-to-day operations are well thought-out, giving as much support, consistency, and freedom as possible to the residents, while keeping them safe and well taken care of. The attention and protection given to the residents during the worst of COVId was remarkable! Rigorous, science-based rules and procedures for staff and residents were instituted and strictly maintained, reducing the spread of the virus as much as possible. Cascades’ management worked with national and state of Arizona officials/departments to make sure the residents were able to receive tests, vaccines & boosters as soon as possible. All of this was communicated to residents’ families clearly through frequent emails. Knowing my parents are in a safe, clean, and loving environment means the world to me since I live miles away. No facility is perfect but Cascades comes very close, with the management & staff making up any difference with true care and responsiveness. I’m forever grateful and HIGHLY recommend!

We went to the Cascades of Tucson. The staff was fine and the property was OK, there wasn't anything outstanding about it, Dad just didn't like it. He said it looked plastic. I don't quite understand what he meant, but he didn't like it, and he's the one who's gonna live there. The staff was very professional, she was friendly and accommodating. She was honest. It was modern, medium-sized, and kept up. It felt more like an institution.

My mom moved into the Cascades of Tucson. They've done well so far. I like their facilities, the memory care specifically. They each had their own studio apartment, so there were no roommates for sharing. It was very clean and well-kept. There are a lot of activities for the residents to participate in. They were well staffed. My mom said the food was okay. They do have a television room where they watch TV and movies. They do have an activity room where they play games and the main dining room where they hang out most of the time. They have a lot of music on Saturdays, and my mom seemed to enjoy that. They play bingo and board games. They'll do little manicures for them and stuff like that.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I visited Cascades of Tucson two and a half years ago. My friend knew a resident there too, plus another friend of mine has his mother there, and he thought very highly of the place. From just speaking to the people and doing the tours, they are licensed and very well qualified to provide that extra care, my friend, needs. The facility is also very clean, very neat, and appears to be very organized. Megan was very, very good. She's been there for eight years and she's very, very knowledgeable, very outgoing, and very pleasant with the public. She made a good impression of the facility. The food looked very good too. They've got a lot of activities organized as well, at least with her particular situation. It's just the price is a little high, but that's the going rate for all of these places.

I am/was a resident of this facility

We have just moved into the Cascades of Tucson. So far, it is excellent. If we need greater assistance, it is right here. One of the big pluses is that we didn't have to move to a different location. It is very centrally located. All the staff members that I have met have been more than friendly, more than accommodating, and all wanted to go out of their way to help. The apartments are not gigantic, but still quite spacious which is a plus too. The cost goes in with the rest of the facilities. It is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. We just got here and we have not been to any activities yet. Yesterday was our first day that we got off quarantine, so we were able to use the dining room. The dining room is large. I would not say food is 5 star, but it is very good., It is sufficient in quantity so that is good. The staff members are just fantastic. The facility seems to be well maintained.

Cascades of Tucson was really nice. I really liked it. I liked that it's family owned, and it was good. The location was just a little bit further than we wanted to go. It's not bad, but it would be a good second choice. The staff was great, friendly, and seemed to know their residents there.

We toured the Cascades of Tucson for my mother. We liked it, and we ended up signing a lease. The rooms were kind of old, and needed upgrades. They were a little on the small side, but workable. They have movies, an exercise room, a library, and a card room. It looked like they have enough activities. The dining area is really pleasant, and the food is pretty good.

Cascades of Tucson was very nice, and my friend really liked the young lady Megan. She was very knowledgeable and personable. They have something different on every floor. We saw their movie theater, which had really comfortable chairs, we walked around in their fitness area, and we also went into their library. They had two elevators, which I thought was good. The hallways are all off of the main foyer, and it was very nice. We saw an upgraded apartment that my friend really liked.

I liked the Cascades of Tucson a lot because the people were out and about and friendly. It's awesome. They have a nurse on staff and everybody knew each other. It was kind of an open environment the way it was laid out. The only thing I didn’t like is you can't bring food from the dining room back to your room. If you can't eat it all you just say bye bye and waste it, which is the only negative thing about the place. The place is very spacious, upgraded, with lots of natural light, they have a porch, and plenty of storage. Even the areas that weren't recently upgraded were nice. They have a pool, dog park, an exercise room, lots of activity spaces, and laundry on each floor, but none in the room.

Cascades of Tucson is a lovely and wonderful facility, but very expensive. The staff member who showed me around was wonderful. They have a salon and you can have a yard outside from the rooms. The place is beautiful and very clean.

Cascades of Tucson was very nice. The main reason that it was not on top of my list is because it doesn't have nursing care. If you need to go from assisted to nursing care, they don't have it there. You would have to move somewhere else. They offer most everything. They had nice facilities like a theater room, libraries, game rooms, and a pool; they had almost everything you could want. The rooms were fine, and the dining area was very nice.

My husband will be moving into Cascades of Tucson in about three weeks. It is family-run and had a great feel to it. It was very caring and well-organized. I had a great feeling about it from the beginning from seeing how people communicate with one another. The residents weren’t just sitting in wheelchairs parked in front of the television. There were activities that use their minds, like Scrabble, which was impressive. They had trips out, like to museums, that family members could come along on, too. I can live in the apartment building next door, so if he calls and needs to see me, I can go in and not be disruptive. The staff members are friendly, accommodating, and professional. They’ve been in the business and know what they are talking about. It is family- and residents-driven versus marketing. When I walked in, it didn’t have all the latest most modern art, so it wasn’t the poshest of settings, but that was OK. There is a visiting physician, a visiting dentist, and a visiting physical therapist. It is incredible that they are able to get everything they need.

Do Not place your family member here! I have a family member their now and I am trying to get him out. The cherry on top of this whole ordeal. He is in assisted living, but they want to charge extra for assisting him in and out of bed temporarily to make sure he doesn't fall due to a recent injury and to walk with him all the way to another building where they feed these people the worst looking food I have ever seen. He can not eat the food half the time he has lost almost three pant sizes since Nov 2015..I would go on and on about this place. I am so upset. However on a good note most of the staff is nice and friendly...oh and some Lawyer owns this facility I wonder if he knows what's going on.

This is a modest facility that I visited for my parents who need assisted living. The apartment was very dated and old-fashioned. The residents have to walk outside to another building for meals. I looked at the meals displayed and the salad bar. It was mediocre and reminded me of grade school lunches. This is not the right place for my parents.

The Cascades was clean, the rooms were large, and they had a private bath and a refrigerator, and it was staffed adequately. This was the only place that I visited where I felt comfortable putting my wife. It was excellent. The staff was very professional, well-trained. and caring; they treated her with kindness and understanding. I don't think I could have made a better choice. I don't know what their full range of activities was, but for the memory care unit, they had games, people coming in to entertain them, TVs, and all sorts of things. They would play balloon volleyball and things like that. I was very, very happy with the place. They were wonderful.

My mom is in Cascades of Tucson. The rooms are fine -- basically apartment rooms -- but they have security and they serve 2 meals a day. They have a pool but nobody can use it except for water aerobics classes which is a big joke. It was set up for people who are wheel chair bound. The food is passable. They could cut their prices down for people with no special needs and be more flexible with meal charges for people who do not eat their 2 meals a day.

My initial impression when I visited Cascades was very positive. I felt comfortable that they provided care with kindness and respect Cascades has a good program to keep memory care residents involved and active. It was clean with spacious rooms with private bath available. The staff is well qualified and deliver care with gentleness and understanding. They made my loved one feel welcome from the minute she entered the door. That eased my anxiety and made it easier for her to settle in. I am very happy that I located Cascades and chose it for my loved one.

What I like the place is that each apartment has an outside patio. I looked for that when I was looking for a place initially. I have 2 bedrooms here with a living room and a kitchen. The food could be better though. They put fancy names on food that are not really fancy. They dwell too much on Mexican food. I think that this is something that they can improve on.

I had a tough time convincing my friend to give up her home. She has been at Cascades of Tucson for 5 months now and loves it. In fact she is after me to sell her home so she won't have to go back. The care here is exceptional and they make the resident feel very safe as well as keeping them busy with activities.

Upon visiting this assisted living facility, I was told it was a very clean and friendly place. When entering the home we were all welcomed by the staff and felt right at home. Not only is this an assisted living facility but it is also a retirement home atmosphere for the residents who do not need assistance. There are many daily activities for the residents so that they can feel engaged with their fellow resident friends. The dining was spectacular here and I would even eat there every day! They make sure that their residents are fully taken care of with anything they may need. You can't find that at every assisted living facility. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.

I have worked private duty for several different residents in the Cascades, and the atmosphere there can be described as tranquil and predictable. They offer nice variety on their menus, and the staff is proactive in calling the residents and asking them if they are alright. They allow pets, and encourage their residents to interact. One of the negatives is that their dining room is located in a separate area, accessible by going outside, down a covered walkway. That in itself is not bad, as it encourages the tenants to walk outside, but when it is cold, or rainy, well, you get the picture. They cater primarily to those that can get around by themselves, but they do have some residents that are limited in their mobility. Some of the activities I have seen include a pianist that visits weekly, and they also offer shopping and outings on their bus. The staff is always on their toes, and it would probably be nice if they hired a few more caregivers, just to keep an eye on the residents. Overall, though, the Cascades is a pretty nice place to live for the less-than independent crowd, and is in a good location.
