I stayed at Shepherd Hills Senior Care. It was a good place after I got used to it. I was not a very good patient but after I resigned myself to being there, everything was fine, and I would recommend someone else to go there. It's very family oriented. You have your dinner at the dining room table and some at the kitchen bar. It's just like a family having meals at dinnertime, lunch, and breakfast and you go about your business. I enjoyed it. The staff members were all very kind. It's managed very well by a Spanish-speaking person and a lot of the CNAs and the nurses were Spanish-speaking people. They have all the different companies that sent out their therapists to the place. I would recommend it. The food was good. A lot of it was Mexican-prepared food, but it's also very nourishing. They had very balanced meals. However, I don't like spicy food. They had lots of things, but I was not a very willing participant. They had a lot of therapies and exercise programs and they were fun. It's like a big family home, and all the rooms were clean, and they're constantly cleaning and wiping. They do laundry there as well. There was more good than not-so-good. For me, it may not have been good, but for other people, it may have been very well what they wanted or expected.
