I visited LifeStream Complete Senior Living at Sun Ridge. The living quarters were small but very nice, and they had a little Jacuzzi outside. It's something I might go back to, but I had a lot of furniture and decorations that could not fit in a small place. The place was elegant and very nice.

I went to this facility to visit a friend and I was very impressed with the facility and the location. The staff members at this facility were very nice and upbeat. And the family friend I went to visit was so excited about her new stay. At first I didn't know what type of story to expect, but she had so many good things to tell me about the facility. The shocking part about the situation was that she had only been at the facility for a week. While visitng myself and her went outside on the patio to enjoy the nice sunny weather. The view was really nice and we could see the cars the passed by the facility, which was nice to see because she was waiting for a family member to come and see her. While we were waiting outside we many staff members came by to see if we were alright. And they were even nice to ask if we wanted some ice tea or water to drink in sunny weather. My overall visit was pleasant.

The second of two facilities my sister and I visited while researching places for my mom to live was Baptist Village Sun Ridge. Although Sun City was a little further than we wanted her to go, we liked their Glendale facility so much, we decided to check this one out too. This facility was smaller and seemed a little bit more set up like a hospital type setting. The main lobby was a nice size and three staff were working the desk. All three were kind, smiled and asked if they could help us. Several wheelchair-bound residents were in the lobby area too, but appeared like they wanted to be there, enjoying the coming's and going's, perhaps people watching. One woman greeted us very warmly and reached out to squeeze my sisters hand. This facility seemed more capable of handling perhaps tougher problems and utilized a lot of rehabilitation and skilled nursing staff. The activity list we saw showed a wide range of different things for residents to do regardless of their strength and abilities. Nice open rooms, windows looking out into a grassy courtyard with lots of low trimmed bushes and trees. I really liked how the windows also had awnings. Allows the light in but manages to block some of the heat from the Arizona sun. At the time we toured here my sister and I realized that my mother didn't need a typical ""nursing home"" so we thanked the staff and left, but just a general impression after spending about an hour and a half here looking around, I feel it's worth checking out for anybody who requires a little more help with daily tasks, meals and so forth. Nice staff! Friendly too.

This place is for either independent living or Assisted Living. I was given a tour and then asked if I had any questions. The rates were reasonable and the facility is in a spiritual theme. I asked if I could wander about on my own and was told that that would be fine and if I had any questions afterwards to feel free to speak with any staff member or come back to the office. In the Assisted Living area 3 meals perday were provided plus snacks, the residents were given frequent visits by staff to assure that they had no needs that needed addressing, Medical supervision was also available and the residens felt secure in that as one of them informed me. He felt that he was not "alone with no one aware of him ", personal laundry was provided and weekly housekeeping The residents seemed to mingle with each other quite a bit - playing cards, doing puzzles, watching T.V., discussion groups on current events etc. They were courteous toward each other and listened when one spoke and did not interupt but waited his/her turn to speak, I was invited to join in any of the group activities that were taking place.

while alive this facility offers wonderful care for your family member. our experience was that once our father died at this facility at 6:45 p.m. on a friday there was not a doctor willing to sign the death certificate. the treating doctor was not going to be available until the following monday and the on call doctor or doctor working the weekend was unwilling to sign a death certificate. no funeral can be done without the signed death certificate. no shipping of the deceased can be done without a death certificate. burial that should have been done in 24 - 48 hours was not able to be done til 5 days later. I would not recommend this facility for a terminally ill patient.
