I had some serious surgery, so we went into Fellowship Square. It was beautiful, well-kept up, friendly, and it had easy accommodations for wheelchairs and an elevator for anything that was off the ground floor in the main buildings. We lived in one of the casitas out along the edge, so we had our own lovely yard and a double carport. There are times I wish we’d gone back there. You had your choice of eating at lunch, or at about 5 o’clock, your choice of 3 entrees and of desserts, and ice-cream was always available if you didn’t want any of the desserts. The meal situation was much better than where we are.

Memory Care:
We take a person-centered approach to caring for our residents with dementia by focusing on their daily comfort and anticipating their needs rather than responding to them. Reflections is a secure unit located on the third floor of The Oasis Assisted Living building.
Reflections' common areas are designed to provide a home-like atmosphere, with a 'family room' similar to the great rooms seen in many single-family homes. Here, residents gather together for meals, activities, and socialization - all important elements to maintaining health and wellness.

We toured Fellowship Square Phoenix. It was an older facility. We were going to check out their newer facility later this year. The rooms were more than adequate. The staff was very good.

Fellowship Square Phoenix was clean and friendly. I was impressed. It was a nice atmosphere. We walked by an eating place. They had nice rooms. The staff was very friendly, sociable, and easy to talk to. It looked new to me. I know it's been there for a while, but the whole yard, everything looked clean.

The room that Fellowship Square Phoenix had wasn't as large as it was at other facilities that I saw. They were big enough to where you can put a king-sized bed in it, but I have a California king size bed, and I was looking for a room that would be big enough to put my bed in. The staff was OK. They were very attentive, answered all the questions, and were very informative for me. Some of the residents I saw were playing dominoes, and there were a couple of ladies playing crazy eights. It was clean and they were friendly. The pool was nice and clean, too. They provide transportation. It's a nice facility for somebody who is looking for a smaller area, not a lot of room.

My mother has been a resident at Fellowship Square for almost 10 years. The service has continually declined. The rent increases substantially every year. The services are reduced and the quality of care is very poor. The meals are just awful, to the point that when I visit we eat most of our meals out. No one is available to assist with anything. This month, March, apparently no menus are yet available and nobody seems to know why. My mother is 95 and it would be a challenge for her to relocate but if service continues to decline we will have to make that decision.

If you want your loved ones to be well cared for, I would not recommend bringing them here. We had a family member in their skilled nursing facility for 2 weeks, and over that time they messed up medications three different times. Twice they failed to give our family member one necessary medication (we found it just placed on the bedside table), and they gave them the wrong IV medication over a 12 hour span. When we brought it to the attention of the director of nursing, all that came back at us was excuses. We were told that there was outside staff working in the facility and that they "did not know their background within the healthcare field." It floored us, particularly because no responsibility was taken for these outside staff from the director of nursing. I do not work in the healthcare field and yet I still double check any medication I give to myself or others (even ibuprofen). When we brought up the failure to give our family member a medication, the director, again, placed the blame on anybody but the staff. Rather, she explained that our family member spit the medication out (when one of the nurses told us that they crush up the medications for them to take). As a family, we never felt confident in the care our loved one was receiving and would often go home anxious that their needs would go unnoticed and result in more harm. This experience was more traumatic than the lengthy hospital stay for our family member, and all the staff saw them as was a burden. I understand the fact of being understaffed, but as healthcare professionals, patients lives are in your hands. There needed to be more care and more attention to detail to ensure that these elderly are cared for. Our loved one has lost their independence, and this facility made it nothing but more traumatic for their transition.

The attitude of Fellowship Square of Phoenix was so far superior. Other facilities just looked at me as though I'm just a person they had to make a sale to. In this place, it's a whole different attitude. They even had a welcome sign with my name on it. When you first drive in, the first thing you notice is the various buildings and curved pathways. There were trees, grasses, a pond, and a place to sit and listen to a babbling brook. The design of the building has arches, including the windows, and it's just not institutional looking at all. It's very, very friendly, and inviting. The bedrooms are adequate sizes and the bathrooms seemed great with bars in it. Everything's in COVID, so things have been kind of shut down, but they have speakers that come in, films to watch, craft activities, book clubs, card playing, and a library. They also take them on trips to the grocery store, to the doctors, and sometimes to restaurants. The staff was outstanding. We've bumped into various people and they would stop and talk to you. They were very friendly and all said that they loved it there, and that it was the best place to live. The residents liked it as well, and they stopped and talked to the staff too, so that was very impressive, that the staff was interested in the residents, and the residents felt comfortable talking to them, even though they might have somebody that they were showing around. They also have casitas as well as the buildings. I looked at both, but I was more interested in an individual casita, and having that kind of independence would be very nice.

The rooms at Fellowship Square of Phoenix were nice. The lady who gave us the tour was very helpful, and she followed up to see if there was anything else she could do for my friend. The facility was nice, but not as polished as the others, and it was less value for the dollar.

Fellowship Square of Phoenix was very nice, but they could only take 1 cat and I have 2. It was a very bright place. They had dances, movies, different clubs, a beauty parlor, and exercise rooms. It had a nice dining room.

Fellowship Square of Phoenix was a Baptist place, but it wasn't as clean as the other place I visited. The apartment was small, but it had a washer and dryer. It had movies, a library, and a pool. I was able to try the food, but it wasn't any good.

We liked Fellowship Square of Phoenix, but the only thing I didn't particularly like about it was that you get 26 meals a month. The rooms were over 700 square feet, the food is very good, and their meals were like gourmet meals, but they had quite a few activities.

They have been fabulous at Fellowship Square. My mother is absolutely very happy there. I think their customer service is fantastic. They have been very communicative. They have lots of field trips. They also have a choir and church services. They take the residents to doctor appointments and shopping. They have vans on site that have wheelchair access which she needs. She says the food is fabulous.

My mother is at Fellowship Square, the independent living part. She gets one meal, and she is very happy with that. They have a great dining room, good enough to make her happy, which is awesome. Part of the reason that we chose this particular facility is because my father, who has dementia, is in their assisted memory care, so she just walks right across the apartment to see him. I would surely recommend this to others.

The campus of Christian Care is clean, nicely landscaped, and friendly. The staff is personable and caring. I had an older relative living in this facility and she enjoyed her time there. Although she had a virulent form of cancer, the warmness of the staff buoyed her last days. The facility gave her a one-bedroom apartment with excellent amenities. The food at Christian Care was of the utmost quality and really provided a balanced and nutritious selection. As the facility is of a religious background there were a lot of supportive clergy there to lend a faithful hand. The selection of activities was wide and varied and the group interaction provided great support. Overall, Christian Care was an excellent place for my elderly relative and she enjoyed her sunset years in comfort and a human warmth.
