Sun Valley Lodge is very clean. The staff is great. They are very caring and flexible, and they're really what makes the place. The floor plans are large and they have just about everything you could ever hope for, except for a swimming pool. They have a beauty salon, a library, and a dining area where you can pay extra for a meal plan. They have a reading club and a games night. The food is very good, too.

I toured LifeStream at Sun City. I was impressed with the place. They have a lot of the amenities that I was looking for. The people were friendly. The staff were very helpful and listened to what I was interested in. It was clean. The place I picked out has just been renovated, and it was perfect for me.

My friend moved in Aug 2019. The best thing is the wonderful staff. It is a single level older structure but well maintained, secure gated and very clean. She is touring next week to possibly move to assisted living as independent living is getting harder for her. In independent living one meal, basic cable, and water are included. She doesn’t cook so has all her meals at additional charge. With Covid-19 Chelsie communicates weekly-they’re wonderful. Regular emails, wellness checks meals delivered when unsafe to go to dining area. She’s a little picky. Activities and weekly trips have been suspended due to pandemic but that makes me feel safe. Necessary medical trips transportation is provided at no extra charge. She is getting her Covid-19 vaccine on the 22nd. No lines or stress.

LACKING IN SECURITY. Guests, and residents, can come and go at any time. A resident suffering from dementia just up and left in the middle of the night. Very scary for the family members, who trust this community to take care of our loved ones.

Sun Valley Lodge is a much older place, but it is large and all on a single floor. They have assisted living in various degrees. My wife would have been in an open area which looked more like an old hospital wing. I wasn't as impressed. It was not as warm or comforting as other places. She would have her own room there because they had the availability, but it would have been just like being in a hospital bed. They had a nice dining area. They seemed to have lots of activities. The staff members that I met were pretty friendly. It wasn't locked down. I think that was one of the drawbacks, too, because you would have people coming from other areas (from the outside coming in). There didn't seem to be a lot of control. It seemed like you could come in off the street or wander around if you wanted to. They did offer respite care.

I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to Sun Valley Lodge. The rooms were cinder-black walls and very small. The place was dingy. It wasn’t dirty; it was just the halls were dark. But the people were very nice; they were great. The dining area was probably the only thing that was good about it. There wasn’t any activity that I saw; it was a very old building, and again the rooms were very small, dark, and cinder-black walls, like how could you hang a picture in there evenly? I was very disappointed.

I am EXTREMELY pleased with Sun Valley Lodge. My brother recently moved in and I made all of the arrangements for him. Chelsie is amazing as the resident services coordinator. She is cheerful, helpful, efficient and truly goes the extra mile. She has a genuine compassion for people. My brother was eased into this new life experience by friendly employees , all willing to assist him. He is happy with the gentlemen he dines with each meal and is enjoying those good meals 3 times each day. The Lodge is very clean and has a warm atmosphere. I can't say enough positives things about Sun Valley Lodge.

Sun Valley Lodge was a nice, clean place. The rooms were decently sized, and the atmosphere in the dining room seemed down to earth and pleasant. The gentleman I talked with was very pleasant. My visit was great.

Sun Valley Lodge didn't have much to offer. The gentleman was very helpful, but the place was a little old I don't have any inkling to go back in. I didn't like the layout of it, and I didn’t think it would be comfortable for my mother-in-law.

My wife and I visited Sun Valley, and the reception was very nice. They gave us a tour of the whole facility, and I think I saw the residents watching TV in the nursing area. The rooms were utilitarian, weren’t fancy at all, and were made from painted cement blocks for the most part. However, it was clean, and my brother liked it because it was cheaper.

Sun Valley Lodge was excellent in all regards; it had really good food, was very clean, and didn't have a smell. Everybody was very nice. The rooms were very nice and very clean. They have tai chi, a nice little chapel with Sunday services, and a beauty salon in the building. The food was restaurant-style, so they can order a number of different food items at every meal. At night, they lay out breakfast items, so the residents can take the breakfast items into their room if they don’t want to come for breakfast. We liked it.

This is a medium sized assisted living. The buildings are very nice and the grounds beautiful. They have lots of trees, two garden areas, greenery, and a beautiful flower garden. There are benches, walking trails, a nice gazebo, and a patio. There are 24 indepent units which are 1 bedrooms and full kitchen, 73 assisted with 1 bedroom and partial kitchens, and 58 skilled units. They have what they call the inn and it is studio and 1 bedroom. They do housekeeping and linen service. With laundry for assisted and skilled. They offer 1 meal a day for independent in own dining room and 3 meals for assisted and skilled with snacks. The food is good. They have a house doctor and nurses on staff 24/7. All caregivers are certified. They do transport to doctor appointments. They utilize community services for therapists, home health, and hospice. They also have respite care. The staff I spoke with was very nice and seemed caring. They do a lot in house activities such as bingo, exercises, games, outside entertainment, partied, movies, and celebrations. They go to shopping, restaurants, and other outings, This is a vry nice facility.

After volunteering my time at this facility for one week in the nursing home, I left feeling slightly unsettled. Having never entered a care facility for seniors, I didn't have much to compare their ways of assisting residents. What I do know is most of the nursing assistants do care very much for their residents they are assisting. They are kind, loving and try to make them comfortable. What I didn't like about them was that they rush through their days and don't seem to get to spend any quality time with the residents. I also noticed that there is a lack of infection control in this facility. I witnessed gloves not being used at certain points, and dirty linens sitting on bedside tables. The head nurses on duty took an extremely long time to assist residents who were in pain. Personally, I would not recommend this facility to anybody that I love. There is not enough personal attention to each resident, and it is not a facility that abides by state regulations, in terms of infection control.
