I was in a rehab situation in Sun West Choice Healthcare & Rehab. It was very good. They were really set up for handling Covid; but of course, it is going up again. The thing was I couldn't see my husband, and we had to keep our doors closed. I stayed there for three weeks. It was good. They had a wonderful staff. My room was adequate. I didn't have a window view, but it was adequate. They had delicious food, and we always had a choice. There was always an alternative. Upkeep was pretty good. I would go there again, if I have to. I wouldn't want to live there because their rooms are too small for a living situation.

Food was not nutritious or tasty. Some staff had very poor attitudes in both English and Spanish. Physical therapy staff was excellent.

Do not walk away from this facility...RUN! My mom's husband spent 4 weeks here with the intent of getting his weight back up, and him walking without a walker. Somewhere around the 3rd week, his roommate was diagnosed with having the Covid 19 Virus. Some time during week 4, he informed my mom that he had a mild case of the virus. A few days later...he was dead. On his death bed, he looked significantly worse than the day he checked into Choice.

If you want to actually talk to a patient here and get updates on there care, don’t use this facility! They did not answer the phone at all this weekend. I tried to call four times yesterday, they transferred me to the nurses station, they answer, then put you on hold until someone else answers. You never get through. If you complain, there like well it’s not my fault, then please hold. We are also waiting for her caseworker to call for a update on our 89 year old Mother. Been three days, she has not called. So we can’t visit because COVID, and can’t talk to her or them, it has been a nightmare!

Choice is a nice facility. My dad hasn't moved in yet, but he is first on their list. He will be sharing a room and it is sufficient for him. It looked presentable and clean. I did get a walk-through of the facility with the primary manager, so I felt comfortable with her and with what I saw. It is the best choice for him in the area because he is a VA-POW and they give full coverage.
