What I liked about Countryside Living is it's close to my place. The least I liked is that it was a little bit more expensive. The staff was friendly. They have everything that I think my wife would need. They have a courtyard, a dining area, and a laundry. It was very clean and very new. The room size was adequate.

I visited Countryside Living. It was physically beautiful from the outside, and that is why we stopped, because it is a new facility. The inside was pretty as well, but the rooms were not big. They have one section for assisted living and one section for memory care. When they do activities, they are all together. I can see why they would do that sometimes, but it made me feel like people were going there to die. It is a really negative feeling, but that's what it made me feel like. When you got everybody supposedly having a good time, but they're just laying there with a blanket on them on a recliner, then that's not entertainment or activity. That's just making time pass, and I didn't like that. I didn't interact with the staff at all, other than the person we were touring with. The thing that really set me off was we went into the dining room and they had just little four-top tables, which was fine, but they had names at their places. Everybody has an assigned place to eat. I want to be able to pick my dinner partners and I don't want it to be the same person every day necessarily. I want to meet and be with a lot of people, and sitting at the same place for three meals a day every day doesn't do it for me. I would not be happy to live there for assisted living. They just need to have more different activities for the assisted living people. They've got a little bus, but I don't think they go to stores and other places, other than medical visits.
