I did a tour of Arizona Assisted Living. The facility is very, very nice. It's elegant in many ways. It has 10 people, but there are private rooms, and they have a three to one ratio. They have activities. On the outside, they have built almost like a sanctuary where they have a big birdcage. They have a lizard cage and they are building a koi pond. They have a little outdoor area for a theater or a stage. On the inside, I like the fact that they have a schedule, they have their menu posted. They try to keep structure; the structure is very important to them and to people who had Alzheimer's. So, everybody sits down at the kitchen table for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They explained why lunch is a heavier meal than dinner. They have one big area, that is the restroom and it's very open. Everybody, when they have to use the restroom, they make sure they get walked to the restroom and not just let there. They have a really big open shower. They promote structure, and I think it's wonderful. One thing that you can see about these caregivers is that they are there to work and to keep the residents busy. It's a whole different atmosphere. They do have visiting hours. I feel that they had such structure and that they had so many hands-on involved with all the residents. There was a lot that I liked. I think they would get a rating of five in all categories. The place was very, very clean. They were exceptional in my opinion. You're talking about cleanliness, you need that for health and it's very important. They were serving dinner as I was leaving. They showed me what it looked like, and they showed me the menu. I love the place, but there's always an issue for us in where we live and trying to get to Queen Creek. The streets are under construction. It's always a big pain to get to Queen Creek, so that's a drawback.

Arizona Assisted Living was nice and clean, it was just not a facility that would work for me. It had a community bathroom, and I don't think that would work. They said that they're licensed for 10 residents and they had 8. They have a TV room and they're currently working on an outdoor area. The dining area was nice, clean, and neat; they had a dietician there on staff. I talked to the owner who seemed nice and knowledgeable.
