Diamondback Healthcare Center is a brand-new building. It's very nice, very modern, and very eloquent. So far, everything has been good. The CNAs and the nursing staff have been good. We're pretty happy with it at this point. They have a bistro and they have nice dining rooms with chandeliers. Mom's room is nice and she has a brand-new-flat-screen TV mounted on the wall.

My grandmother was under the care of this facility for a month and a half. The nurses, CNAs, and social worker who took care of her lacked communication skills, responsibility, and compassion regarding her needs, medications, and overall care. Furthermore, her room was almost never tidy when we visited; there was dust, scraps of paper, and used gloves on her floor and under her bed. Her clothes were sitting in feces in her closet. I can't count how many times I requested to talk to her social worker or caseworker about their attention towards my grandmother. Whenever I informed her nurse about various issues, such as her belongings being lost or her health deteriorating, they never relayed this information to the assistant director of the unit as I had requested. We ultimately had to take it upon ourselves to search for the assistant director to communicate these concerns. While the staff members were often found whispering, laughing, and chatting in the hallways, they were nowhere to be found when it was time to update family members about what was happening. My grandmother would be in pain, moaning and groaning, and they would take their time to administer her medication or respond to her call button for assistance. And it gets worst they lost her belongings, this place is not ideal. My grandmothers phone is missing her glasses are missing, and her clothes. And she’s still waiting to be reimbursed.

I was impressed at how new and beautiful the place was. The rooms are excellent, so clean and modern. I had issues with the food. Very limited selection, not well prepared, cold hamburger, watery soup. Some of the staff was professional and helpful. Then there were the few that were rude, impatient and even raised their voices in a threatening manner. It made me uncomfortable, I was afraid to ask for even water as they would get upset with me. I was not able to get some of the treatments I needed. All in all, beauty traded for care,,,umm I would rather be in an older more personable place than a corporate modern place without sub-standard care. Won't be going back, that is for sure.
