The rooms are small and you can barely fit 2 small single cot hospital beds and 2 chairs. Each room has a restroom with only a toilet and sink. Showers are in another room and you can only take a shower if your name is on that days list. There's a patio outside for only smokers. Homeless people check themselves in and out whenever they please

I would NEVER recommend anyone go to this place. My brother was transferred to Desert Terrace from St Josephs Hospital he has a brain tumor and short term memory. After less than one week I received a call from my brother he was told he would have to leave as his insurance ran out. I called the Case/Social Worker and told her that he could NOT live alone and they needed to contact the VA and find an assisted living facility for him. INSTEAD today I received a call from my brother they had DUMPED him at his house - he did NOT have a key to the house or any of his meds. There is a lock box on his house but my brother could not figure out how to open it, and had to give the Driver the combination so he could get the key to his house. Later I called one of his neighbors and asked her to check on him. She told me he was confused and she had to help him find his cell phone, and medical alert button. He needed assistance getting up from a chair to get to his walker. When I drove down to visit my brother last week, I found the facility dirty, he was cramped into a tiny room with another patient. He spend most of the day laying in bed watching TV. Almost no PT or activities. NO ONE from Desert Terrance have called me.

I would tell families considering this facility for a family member-Go somewhere else! When you walk in all the nurses are sitting around at the nurses' station. When they see you coming they jump up. Patients are left in urine soaked beds, basic services aren't provided & you have to keep checking to make sure your loved one is getting the care they need. The nurses will use the excuse that they're "short-staffed". If so, maybe it's time to close the facility down. I think it's amoral to charge patients & their insurance companies for care they aren't receiving.

I was delivered there from Estrella hospital to have physical therapy and when I got in it was not what I expected it to be everything in the floor was dirty andit had feces and urine spots all over and around the Toilet. The nurses or the RN it took a lot like 2 hours for them to even come around and see me. It was very loud , some people walking around with no mask. Well to say no professionalism!

My mom was in the facility for 36 hours maybe .. They ran out of oxygen with the first 5 hours of her being there . They were completely under staff and forgot my mom in the bathroom ! The place was beyond dirty I many video of the it all . They did not give her the required meds and she had to be rushed back to the ER and re admitted to the hospital.. Do not put your family here !!!!

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE! My Father who is not mentally able to care for himself and barely able to walk, was released at 3am alone with no ID or money what so ever. They deemed him able to care for himself because he was able to answer a few basic questions... He has now been missing for 12 plus hours. They didnt even have the courtesy to call one of the 4 family members on file to notify us of him leaving. We have filed a missing persons report and will be filing a complaint in hopes they are NEVER able to do this to someone again!

I’m a resident at this place right now and they have the best wound care nurse. I give the wound nurses a 5 STAR but the facility a 1 STAR. I was given a pass to go out with family by the doctor and then taken away from me. DR promises then breaks the promise. Some Nurses are really lazy and when you ask for help to disconnect an IV that has been done for hours they do not do it. Need to be on there toes or they become lazy.

Upon entering the facility there is a smell / fragrance that hits you right off the bat. I could not stomach it. The room my wife was in smelled of urine. The manager there leaves a lot to be desired in terms of his professionalism as well as his compassion. Referrals to doctors and getting my wife's medical contacts was next to impossible. When you wanna sign out they won't allow you to they threaten to call the cops. I was apprehensive about leaving her in this facility but I just could not take the smell. Very unprofessional.

I was at Desert Terrace for approximately 2 1/2 months for rehab. The medical team was excellent. The food was good and if you happen not to like what they had they had alternatives. The medical team always worked together. The activities were fun such as ice cream social, bingo, movie time and Church. If I or someone I knew need a Nursing Home/Rehab I definitely would recommend Desert Terrance.

The staff were outstanding in taking care of my mom. Very cozy and comfortable. Great patio. Activities were awesome, we both loved the food too!
