My father has moved into Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care, Phoenix. The facility is pretty good and in a good location. The grounds are well-kept, and the layout is good. His apartment is nice, I would rate it very good. The staff are pretty good, they're a little understaffed, but they do check on him. They have painting and chair exercises. They also have bingo, but he doesn't care for that at all. The food is average, I say basic institutional food like in a dormitory at a college.

My sister will be moving into Bethesda Gardens. We chose it because of all the amenities that they offer. The room was big. It was just so much better than where my sister is. It was perfect for her. The staff members all seem very friendly. They reached out to be kind, and it was just very nice. There's a huge variety of amenities that they offer. They have activities going on seven days a week. They have a beauty shop. They have more open dining, and my sister doesn't have to be there at a certain time. Plus, they offer a menu to choose from. She can walk around. She can walk outside. She's not held like a prisoner like she is now.

Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care, Phoenix is clean. The dining area feels like you're going out to eat (they have waiters and waitresses). They have a nurse on hand, nurse practitioners, and doctors. So, my mom's care is all done in that facility. They have good activities and she just loves it there. She has a little apartment with a roommate. The staff is great. She said that she gets treated very well. She likes the food and she has alternatives if she doesn't want what they're having. She likes to drink her tea in a certain way, and they know how she wants it, and they bring it to her like that in the morning, and if she was sick, they would bring her food to her room. I don't have to go and pick up Mom's medications anymore. They have a pharmacy that brings all of her prescriptions and refill them for her, but that's up to us. Every morning and evening they come and knock on her door and give her a pill. It's a good system. I just feel very comfortable with my mom being there. They have their eye on her, but to her, it doesn't seem like they are, because she comes and goes as she pleases.

Bethesda Gardens was beautiful. Everything looked good. They've got beautiful staff. They're excellent people. The rooms were apartment type. I like them better than the others. They had a big screen TV, six or eight computer layouts, chairs, and recliners. They had everything. The kitchen area and the garden were beautiful.

Menu for today's supper included a hot meal of cod fish and typical side dishes. At 3 pm a box lunch of roast beef on white bread with chips and a fruit juice was delivered to my mom’s room. No choices offered. No explanation for the change. My mom, and the many other residents who won’t have another meal until tomorrow morning deserve better treatment.

We like Bethesda Gardens in Phoenix. It was very clean, they were very friendly, and the residents seemed very happy. The young lady who showed us around was awesome, very caring, and answered every question we had. They have a lot of socialization and little trips outside the center.

I found Bethesda Gardens for my brother and he's going to be moving in the end of this month. It's very close to where I live, which is within about four miles, and about six miles from the health facility that he's going to be going to. It's a newer property, only 15 years old, and it is a non-profit. I just felt very comfortable with the size of the rooms, the accommodations, and a lot of the other online reviews. They have other facilities in other states. The staff has a low turnover which is important to me. The staff member that I met was very friendly and the residents that I encountered and talked to seemed very happy. This is just based on all my preliminary information. My family member hasn't moved in yet.

I did visit Bethesda Gardens. It was very nice. I was impressed with the staff and with the facility itself. I had a little tour and got to meet some of the people. It was a very well orchestrated visit, very helpful and very pleasant. I was happily surprised. I was greeted beautifully. I was also told that there are people on the premises that can help with paperwork, if needed.

It's a great facility in a good part of town. The staff is friendly and always smiling. Good activities office that does field trips and a large variety of events. The residents always seemed helpful. The only complaints I have about the facility are that it's hard to navigate since it's multiple floors and built into a hill, so each floor is of a different size. Use the wrong elevator and you might be in a dead end. Also, I was given conflicting information by both activities and front desk personnel. Overall good impression of the place.
