My Mom was sent here as a recommendation from another friend and I'm so glad we made the choice. The management team all came in to meet my mom within a few days of her arrival and the staff was great. They really seem to focus on customer service and making sure their patients are well taken care of.

Rooms are cold, dull. Shared bathrooms with room on the other side. So, if you need a raised toilet, you’ll be moving it yourself over the toilet every time you go...since not everyone else sharing with you will want it. Every time someone opens the bathroom door in my room they knock the TV on the wall crooked...so it’s hard to watch. My interactions with most staff are Pretty good. Weekend evening staff were not as good. One night staff person can’t even do a bedpan right— gets me soaked every time...then they wonder why my skin itches. One time I told her my skin itched all over and in a nasty tone, she responded, well what do you want me to do about?! As if it wasn’t her job. Then she goes out in the hall and tells the nurse I’m nasty! I heard her say that! The nurse argued with her and finally I got medication for my skin. The food here sucks! No seasoning at all! Today the fries weren’t cooked, but I got a lecture for mentioning it. Yesterday my breakfast sausage was rock hard. They seem to prefer kool-aid over real juice— you have to use the same straw for all your drinks. For activities, all the therapists are good...but theirs are the only activities I’ve experienced. If there are others they haven’t included me. As far as amenities, they have a gym...only thing I know about.

My mom was there for respite. We came home 2 days ahead of schedule. We checked on my mom and found her work a cut on her leg- unreported. The nurse on duty had way too many patients and not enough help. We were told that if she had any accidents that they would wash her clothes... we found her stained clothes in a bag in the closet. NO supervision. It was a horrible experience. We immediately removed my mother!!!!!

My uncle was in this place for about 3 weeks. Place smells. No one ans. the facility phone after 3:30. Hard to reach my uncle as no phone was in his room. I had to hope the nurses' station would get my call IF I got through before 3:30. Then if he was in rehab, they claimed they had no idea when he went in or would get out. The rehab room is in this SAME small building, on the same floor. My uncle was supposed to drink a lot of water, but it was hard when no drinking glasses were in the room. A visitor had to demand that a glass be brought to them as they insisted on waiting for the glass to show up. I asked for the administrator and was told that he left the company so a (male) asst. administrator took the calls.. and a few weeks later, this guy was gone too. I would tell anyone thinking about any care home to pull up the AZ Licensing website. It will show if any violations have ever been filed, and how they were addressed. https://azdhs.gov/licensing/index.php#azcarecheck call the office number on the net, they are helpful. The AZ C orporations Board also has info. https://ecorp.azcc.gov/EntitySearch/Index

My Mother is in this Nursing Home. I have tried to call her many time. They will not give her the Phone. I have been told the is a crime by a attorney. This nursing home sets it own rules. I have had 6 businesses. Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, Day Inn in Mount Vernon in Washington State for 7 years. Many accomplishments. I still own a Grocery Store. My niece is a deceiver with nothing to her name, and no accomplishments. With what I have been through with this Nursing home I would advise you to stay as far away from this home as possible.

I will never again use this place for respite care. None of my directions were followed for my mother. She was even dressed in clothes that were not her own, although I provided plenty of clothes for her. She was unhappy and scared after her 5 day respite stay through hospice care.

Mesa Christian Health and Rehab is small and friendly. However, it was probably clean, but it just appeared to be dilapidated. It’s not a place that I would leave a loved one. I didn’t feel like it had high standards with regard to decoration or the way it was laid out. It was depressing.

This ended up being a very disappointing placement for us. My brother suffered a sever TBI 3 years ago and while he is doing very well in his recovery, he still needs some help with medication reminders and day to day tasks like laundry, meals, etc... They told us prior to moving him in that their staff was trained in handling TBI patients and assured us he would be fine. He has some short term memory issues and has issues with impulsiveness. A small issue can turn into something big if it is not properly dealt with. Very much like a child/parent relationship, the parent needs to be the mature, clear thinking, controlled "example"; thereby, teaching the child how to handle problems in the future. If a parent acts like a child then it just aggravates the child and things go from bad to worse. The NIGHT staff here is horrible!! They are not well trained, act like little kids, have no supervision, they lie to create drama and to cover up their mistakes. The management is worse, they are lazy, tell you what they think you want to hear, useless! I feel bad for the few day time staff members who do care and are very good with the residents. I am talking about 3-4 staff members who keep that place from falling apart or being sued. Make this your last resort because you will not be happy with your loved ones care here.

My brother-in-law went to Mesa Christian Care Center for rehab about four years ago and really liked it. So we checked into the assisted living part. He was really happy with the fact that we were sending him back to the same place, basically. He got a studio. It's a small room. They give him three meals a day and do his laundry. The activity is up to him. The staff is very attentive and very nice.

My mom had open heart surgery. We had her at Mesa Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center for two weeks because she needed short-term skilled nursing at that time. This was our choice because we actually like the cleanliness of the place. My mom had a private room and it was spacious. With regards to staff, the doctor there wasn't that helpful. He told my mom she had the disease that she didn't actually have. But other than that, my mom had excellent care and she was really happy with it. However, they could improve on their food. She didn't like it at all.

We found Mesa Christian to be a very good fit for my mom and for us, though it was by no means the closest to our home. They always gave my mother very good care, and were always diligent to try to provide a really nice menu for her, even though she had VERY limiting diet, due to current and ongoing ailments. She always let us know how very friendly and warm everyone that worked there was. I would like to say that we had one experience with them, and it was all positive, but the truth is that we had multiple experiences with them, because for the last three to four years of her life, she was in the hospital for at least one month out of each year, and then each time, due to her weakened state, she had need to go to skilled nursing again. She always requested Mesa Chrsitian, never even wanted to consider an alternative choice. The staff grew to be very friendly with our whole family as well, and always greeted us when they would see us enter the building or encounter us in the hallways.I gave them a four star rating because I think that a five star rating is too much for any facility to uphold all the time, with so many different people working in so many areas on so many shifts. I think without a doubt, though, that I would have to give them a VERY solid four. I have recommended them to friends, and will continue to do so in the future.
