The staff at Haven of Health Camp Verde was unbelievably wonderful and the food was really good. My mom had a private room and people would even come in and pray for her. This community was exceptional and excellent with everything. When my daughter went to visit, the residents were in one room making Valentine's Day cards and she got to play accordion for them. They made a king cake for Mardi Gras and gave it to everyone, so it was really fun. They also had church services.

Overall, Haven of Camp Verde looked great. They've got plenty of staff, which is important. The rooms were clean. There were different activity rooms and different halls. I liked the dayroom that's off of one of the rooms because that's important to get some sunlight if the weather doesn't permit you to go outside. The staff seemed very nice and informative. They were doing a Trick or Treat thing that day, so there were a lot of people out in the hallways. The layout was good. The rooms were pretty large. There's a nice patio outback where my friend can have a smoke and be social with everybody. The staff during the tour seemed very warm and very caring, definitely asked the right questions to get a good fit for him, and was very informative. She told me a few things I didn't know, so that's good.

The lady I talked to at Haven of Camp Verde seemed very caring and accommodating. They sounded like they tried to get to know their residents to provide a very homey atmosphere for them. My dad would need a little softer food and they will be able to accommodate that. The whole place was very cozy. It's a little bit smaller place. So, I felt like he would have gotten more intensive care there than in some of the other larger places. They're one of the facilities that allow smoking outside though. When residents who smoke come back in, they had smoke on their clothes. Unfortunately it wouldn't be good for my dad for that reason (but somebody else might like it and could be a good match for them).

I went to Haven of Camp Verde. The people were very pleasant and nice, but it was just too small. And I like it a little bit more socially. Even though I'm not in good shape, I'm very social, and the people there were pretty much bedridden. But it was a very nice facility. It was clean, and it looked great. The room was a studio and there were two people in it, and that didn't work for me because I have to have a single room. All the staff showed me were shared rooms, and I said, 'Don't you have private rooms,' and she said, no. I saw a library, but I have more books in my suitcase than they had in the library. It was nice, but everything about it was too small.

I wish I had something good to say about this place but unfortunately I can’t think of anything positive that I witnessed while visiting. The rooms are dirty and not maintained. They are understaffed as far as the hands on staff. I have witnessed blatant neglect and when you question someone about it they become hostile and walk away. I really worry about the patients there.
